Keywords: House
Sucluded Mountain home, three bedrooms, three bath (Jacuzzi tub in main bath) with two of the bedrooms Huge Master suites. Private 6 person hot-tub on deck. Totally secluded. Come give us a try! One of the best deals in North Georgia mountain vacation rentals.
Located about 2 miles off of Hwy 52 running between Amicalola Falls State Park and Ellijay. At the end of a private gravel road, surrounded by 60 acres of unspoiled hardwood forest loaded with wildlife and plant diversity. Fantastic views throughout the property. This is secluded mountain living at its best. Not another building in sight.
. Beautiful hardwood flooring everywhere, twenty foot ceiling in the prow front living room looking out onto a spacious deck. A 6 person spa/hot-tub is located on the deck next to the fire pit and the charcoal grill.
With three futons (two in the lofts and one more in the downstairs TV room) as well as three full sized couches this roomy home can easily accommodate up to 14 people if needed. Both master suites have queen beds and large private baths. The third bathroom has a large Jacuzzi tub as well. All bathrooms have slate or travertine flooring. Two large water heaters make sure that you'll never run out of hot water.
The first floor master suite includes a private, 14’ X 28’ screened porch with fans and a comfortable outdoor sitting room of wicker furniture and a game or snack table.
The living room has a gas log fireplace with stone hearth, a 20’ high ceiling with the large loft area looking on to it from either side of the stairway with each side comprising a cozy nook for reading, playing games or sleeping on either of the comfortable futons there. A HDTV 50’ plasma screen equipped with a home theater DVD/audio system is located in the living room as well with a library of DVD and VHS movies. Rustic, but comfortable furnishings abound. Original artwork hangs on the walls and numerous custom details like the back lit onyx bathroom counter and sink or the inlaid patterns in the hardwood flooring add the sense of decadent luxury without detracting from the natural beauty and seclusion of the home and location.
A full kitchen with all utensils, plates, coffeemaker, dishwasher and makes preparing meals and entertaining fun and easy. Both a breakfast counter and the large round 6 person dining table allow for relaxed serving and flow during meals.
The walkout basement area contains the washer/dryer and a large game room area including a ping-pong table, darts and a second HDTV flat screen with DVD and VHS connected. This downstairs HDTV also has input ports on the front panel for connecting to video games if the kids wish to do that. The whole house is wired for cable.
The well maintained, gravel driveway and large parking area can hold 10-15 cars.
A mowed grassy meadow adjacent to the house has it’s own wooden deck and 12 person picnic table with fire pit. This location is perfect for lawn games, cookouts, watching the sunset across the valley and stargazing in the clear, north Georgia nights.
The end-of–the-road seclusion and the 60 acres surrounding the home makes this location truly ‘dog-heaven’. When we come up to our smaller home on the property, our three dogs can all run free for the duration without fear of cars or leash laws. More than 10 miles of old logging roads crisscross the property, providing ready trails for hiking at either a low intensity level or as strenuous as you wish simply by scaling the considerable elevations on the property ( From the base of Fern Valley to the surrounding ridges it is roughly 800’ of elevation) Walking from one end of the property to the other takes about 1.5 hours and is a nice little bit of aerobic exercise. For the more accomplished mountain bikers out there, these hills are just begging to be ridden.
For family reunions we do also offer the option to rent the second house (3 BR, 2 bath) as a package with the larger house. The second house can sleep an additional 9 people, however the dates for this need to be discussed directly with us as that is our personal mountain retreat.
Loads of nearby activities from antiquing, mountain biking, Scenic railroad excursion, horseback riding, hiking, golfing, state parks, tubing, canoing and kayaking on the local rivers, boating on Lake Blue Ridge, or just cruising the back roads checking out the cows, apple and peach orchards. Many nice, local resturants in scenic settings. Convenient access to supermarkets, a drive-in movie theater in Blue Ridge(one of the last in Georgia), boutique shops, even a Wal-Mart. The annual apple festival in Ellijay is always a blast, complete with baby animal petting zoo, pig races, hayrides, clogging, country music and the local moonshine museum. Family fun for everyone.
While the location is remote, we do have consistent cell phone signal so you can still be in touch with the outside world if need be.

Why the Owner Chose Amicalola Falls
We love being at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains with so many wonderful things close by. We love hiking the Appalachian Trail, going to Amicalola Falls, and boating on Lake Blue Ridge. We mainly love just being in the isolation of the woods, hearing turkeys, seeing deer and bears!
The Unique Benefits at this House
The greatest thing about staying at our property is it is so quiet! One guest suggested it was like staying in a tree house.
Owner's Map of Amicalola Falls
My husband Jon and I looked all over the state of Georgia until we found the perfect location. Ellijay is only an hour and a half drive from our hometown Atlanta. We love being in the Valley with all the different springs, creeks, and ponds on the land. We love all the nature that is so nice through out the year. We have mountain laurels, wild dogwoods, hundreds of wild flowers, and so many different kinds of fern!! It is so fun discovering all the differnt kinds of plants.

Great Secluded Mountain Retreat!

Rented the cabin with a group of friends for New Years weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Three of us have dogs, and it was great to bring them with us. They really enjoyed running around outside the house. Cabin is very secluded. A couple of us are hikers and enjoyed going on quick hikes over the property. Since we were there in winter - there were no leaves on the trees - but I bet the property is gorgeous in the fall! We enjoyed the big deck and hot tub. The kitchen is a bit small, but it was well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans. The owner is super responsive with any questions we had - a great owner to rent from! I recommend this cabin to anyone looking to have a mountain getaway!

Wonderful Family Reunion

This vacation property offered everything we wanted and MORE ! The main home was beautiful and everyone slept comfortably. We were celebrating a large family birthday with guests ranging in age from 10 to 85 and there was something for everyone. There was plenty of room for family meals and lots of running and hiking areas for the children AND the dogs. Instructions for use of the house were clear and easy to find and the second house was great for some extra space. Amicalola Falls was only a short drive away as was the Pumpkin Farm and we stopped at a local orchard on our way home. The location is off the beaten path, but not TOO FAR, which was nice with so many young people. Finding the house was probably the hardest part of the trip as it is necessary to use many unmarked roads. Also, I would suspect that when the weather is really rainy or frozen, the roads may even be inaccessible with regular cars. The owner was only a phone call away when we had any questions. The price was quite reasonable for all of the space and amenities. Our family looks forward to a return for the next reunion ~~

Everything about this house held up to our expectations. It was secluded and accomidating. We did not see anyone near the property our entire weekend staying there. The local eateries were also a plus; a bbq joint called the Eastside Grill was only a 5 or 10 minute drive from the closest major road. Oveall, great time, would love to come back

Had a wonderful time. So beautiful! Had a visit from four little black bears. The only thing I would change is the small kitchen and the twin beds are very firm. Other than that this cabin is amazing!!!! Had my 40th party there and it was perfect!!!! Thank you so very much!!!

We arrived on a Friday. We being myself, my wife, two children and three labs. We arrived after dark, which I do not suggest as it is really dark, what someone from St Petersburg refers to as 'scary dark', well the kids anyway. My brother, his wife and son arrived a few hours later. The weather was just cool enough (late March) to be able to hike without sweating and warm enough not to need extra clothes. The house was fabulous. I couldn't get the hot tub to work, but my brother that has one, had no problems. The house was great. The teenager loved the basement bedroom where he could be left alone. My two younger children stayed in the two beds in the loft. My parents arrived on Wednesday and they took the second bedroom on the main floor. Everyone had a great time; the dogs loved running up to the fire pit area and back: and we took them on a hike up the ridge and no one got lost. We made chili in the kitchen, sat around the big dining table and ate and played cards and spent a lot of time on the porch with a fire going. I suggest your try the fried pies at R&A Orchards on 52 on the way to Elijay. The chocolate and blueberry are excellent. We went into Elijay to check out the antique shops. We bought some blankets, tools and fudge. The fudge was not at the antique shop but at Tea WIth Strings. We went to the falls but only climbed about 1/4 way up. Once you have lived on flat land for a while you forget how steep things can get. We trailered in our motorcycles and had some fun riding the dirt roads around the house. The neighbors were all very nice....well the three we saw. I recomend the house highly.

This cabin is immaculate. After driving several minutes away from the highway on gravel roads you begin to wander what you will stumble upon. When the cabin comes in sight you will be blown away. The exterior is a grand preview of what your stay is going to be like. The interiors are immaculate. Hardwood floors everywhere, fancy lighting, a master bedroom that will make you feel like royalty. This is a cabin way out in the sticks but its not so rustic that you will have to brush up on your survival skills. There's plenty of sleeping room and tons to do. I could easily spend several weeks here and at the price it is actually an affordable possibility. I wish we had spent more time so that we could explore the 60 beautiful acres of forest surrounding the home.

Memorial Day Weekend

We were so excited to get the rental on short notiice - BUT - the description is very deceiving. It touts a new hot tub, ice maker, DVD players. The hot tub was a 6 person tub but the controls were covered with clear tape and hard to operate and most of the jets did not work. The ice maker was there but did not work and the same with the DVD player. The lower master bathroom was nice to look at but while taking a shower the water did not drain so you ended up standing in ankle deep water. We contacted the owners and they confirmed the ice maker did not work and there were issues with the hot tub. Also the kitchen needs updating - the appliances were old and extremely worn.
Owner response:This response was sad for me because we were 2 minutes away and we could of help them with anything they needed. I want everyone to have a great time and our cabin book is filled with rave reviews about how much everyone loves the cabin. I'm so sorry they were unhappy. Again, if they had called us we would of bent over backwards to help.

Our family had many losses in the past few years and we decided to have a special Christmas. I found this online and knew it was the one for the 10 of us. If you like isolation, this is your place. You can't see anything but trees. My nephews needed to get away from computers and video games. This was just the place to come back to reality. Both master bedrooms were huge. If one wishes to get away from the crowd, he/she could resort to the bedroom and watch tv with plenty of space. The house was extremely clean. Everything was exactly like you see in the pictures. Bring your flashlights because it's dark outside- no big lights to remind you of the city. On Christmas day we rode over to the falls, only a very few minutes away. We had a great time and will do it again.
