Location: Brevard, Smoky Mountains, North Carolina, USA (8 minutes from downtown Brevard) View Map
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)
Keywords: Comfortable home with an exceptional view of the French Broad River valley and surrounding mountains.
We invite you to bring your family and friends to Brevard for a relaxing stay at Point of View. Perched on five secluded acres, Point of View overlooks the French Broad River valley and the stunning mountains of Transylvania County yet it is only 10 minutes from picturesque downtown Brevard. This very private mountainside setting provides postcard worthy views of the French Broad River as it winds through the valley, the granite face of Cedar Rock rising skyward and the gentle peaks of the Blue Ridge mountains.
For those who are looking for variety in their vacation, Brevard is a particularly great vacation destination. Locally, the small mountain town of Brevard offers a diverse array of unique shops, art galleries and great restaurants. Beyond the town limits you will find thousands of acres of state and federal forest land to explore: Year-round enjoy exploring the road bike routes and mountain bike trails that slice through Transylvania County. Rent a canoe or kayak and float down the French Broad River to really immerse yourself in quiet and peacefulness. If you choose to drive a short distance, take in the Biltmore Estate in Asheville or a performance at Flat Rock Playhouse near Hendersonville. After a day of shopping or exploring, come home, build a fire in the outdoor fire pit, grab your favorite beverage and watch the sun slip behind the mountains overlooking the French Broad River Valley. As the saying goes, “Life is good”.
The chalet style house features a magnificent multi-story native stone fireplace in the sunny, spacious Great Room. Soft fleece blankets, books, playing cards, puzzles, wi-fi and a flat screen cable television are provided for when you just want to loaf. If cooking is your thing, you will find the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, casserole dishes, food processor and the like so cooking is a breeze. We also strive to keep a basic supply of dried herbs & spices, oils, and sweeteners so you don't have to spend a fortune on basics at the grocery store just to cook a flavorful meal. Once the cooking is done there is a large dining table in the Great Room that seats eight to ten people. In warm weather, you might want to dine on the deck with the pastoral valley view as a backdrop for your meal. As for sleeping, the three bedrooms are comfortably appointed with a queen size bed in the master bedroom on the main level and double beds in the two upstairs bedrooms. A queen size convertible sofa is also provided for additional bedding.
If Point of View sounds like a good fit for you, please contact us to arrange a time to visit and change your point of view!

Why the Owner Chose Brevard
I can take no credit for having a second home in Brevard as I am merely the grateful son of some determined, hardworking people who loved Brevard but most especially this piece of heaven we now call Point of View.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Point of View is a great spot to stay because it is so close to the county's many waterfalls, hike and bike trails and river access points.
Owner's Map of Brevard
I am a native of Brevard, living on a nearby mountain with my wife and two sons. We all are pretty active and love living in the mountains where we can hike, bike, ski and snowboard. My wife and I have various business interests but we spend much of our time rejuvenating various pieces of real estate we have acquired throughout our marriage. I inherited Point of View after my parents passed away. It was their home for many happy years and now it is a place to share with others. It is my desire for Point of View to be a place for families and friends to gather, relax and refresh themselves with quiet moments and conversation while rediscovering the simple pleasures of life in a comfortable home with a view that is a daily gift.

Our first stay here. FANTASTIC! We come to NC every year at this time for your opening of duck season. We float the French Broad from Hannah Ford to Butler Bridge. Always a good time. Have been doing it for 25 some years. By far this is the best location and "VIEW" we have ever stayed at. It serves our purpose perfectly. Hope to be back here next year. Several of us are planning to bring our wives up for a vacation and hope to stay here. Can only say thank you and hope to see you next year. Thanks, The Florida Boys

What a view! God's creation is awesome. It's like a canvas where the picture changes everyday. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful house. We had lots of fun... We had a wonderful stay. Weather was fantastic. Did some kayaking on the French Broad, hiking in Pisgah and lucked out with the White Squirrel Festival. Thanks for sharing your home.

The view is fantastic. We got some great pictures of the sunset and view. The weather was perfect. Our family enjoyed hiking to Moore's Cove. The grandkid's found their own walking sticks and want to go hiking all the time. We also enjoyed making Smores. This is a great place to come and spend time with family. [P.S from Nancy]: It was a perfect 64th birthday! :)

WOW- what an amazing view! We have enjoyed watching the sun set behind the mountain, the thousands of stars at night and the waking up to the beautiful fogged sky. My children love hearing all the cows moo in the morning :) We will be back and we will bring others!

Thank you for making your lovely home available to rent! We had a wonderful time with our adult daughters and son- a special time having the family together again. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the view. We spent many hours hiking in the Pisgah National Forest and it was so nice to have a comfortable house to come back to. We hope to return someday. Thanks so much!
