Year Purchased: 2007
Craig and Nancy Johnson have dreamed of owning their own Bed and Breakfast, but life’s demands pulled them in a different direction. In August of 2007, they stumbled upon this house and instantly they fell in love with it. Although it’s not a B&B, they’re thrilled to share it with the visiting families and groups who visit Newport, a place they truly love. One day the Johnsons hope to retire here. In the meantime, they love knowing that others are enjoying it and taking care of it as much as they do.
Why Three Beaches Cottage?
The name Three Beaches Cottage came naturally to the Johnsons. Besides its proximity to Newport and Middletown’s three beautiful beaches, the house has a guest suite, a two bedroom, and three bedroom apartment (also, it became very laborious to refer to them as the one bedroom suite, the two bedroom apartment, and the three bedroom apartment).
The Johnsons welcome you to their home just a few short blocks from Newport's First Beach, a bike ride to Second Beach and close to all that Newport offers!

"We loved our stay at Three Beaches in Middletown, RI. The short walking distance to First Beach was convenient when vacationing with our three-year old daughter and her young cousins. We spent long, lovely days in the sand and surf at First Beach and could get “home” with no hassle for naps or provisions. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and spacious fenced-in yard at the cottage. Bonus here. One night my husband and I got a babysitter, on recommendation from the owners, and took a long romantic walk along the shore in First Beach towards the Cliff Walk. We strolled the Cliff Walk as the moonlight reflected off the Ocean and we marveled at the architecture and scenery. Later, we made our way back and ate a hearty meal at the bar at the KJ's Pub. Delicious. The rental unit itself was clean and adorable. Everything was in good working order and the linens were crisp and the beds comfortable. I liked this place because it’s close enough to Newport for dining and shopping but much more mellow when you need downtime and unlimited beach access. A great summer retreat! Highly recommended."
