Top of the line linens and towels. You only need your personal items . The kitchen has natural stone counter tops and everything you need to have dinner for two or a party. We have a Christmas tree on the beach. Also a firer place on the beach! Have your christmas party on the beach ! The living room has an ex large Sony TV w/H.D. HBO . Why the Owner Chose Englewood Beach
MANASOTA BEACH & ENGLEWOOD BEACH is old FLORIDA. I know I am safe to walk the beach at anytime day or night . You can still have a firer pit on the beach except in turtle season may-oct . I can still take a sleeping bag down and sleep under the stars and no one is going to come run me off. The fishing is great ! I can walk to a charter fishing boats and be out fishing by 6-7 in the am . I can feel completely safe at night with my doors unlocked. So to me its my part of paradise . This units are called the FRIST MATES QTS SLEEPS 4 .THE CAPTAINS QTS SLEEPS 4 AND THE DECK HANDS QTS SLEEPS 4 . BUT WE CAN PUT TWO MORE ON BIG LEATHER SOFA'S SLEEPS 13 # SO BOOK NOW FOR THAT SUMMER FAMILY REUNION 3 KITCHENS 4 BATHROOMS 2 OUTSIDE SHOWERS AND 3 PATIO'S AND OUTSIDE BAR, gas grills on all patios AND MUSIC, FREE WASHER & DRYER !! And Maid service weekly if you pay extra for that service.
The Unique Benefits at this House
One Big HOUSE ! Or 3 units , Rent one or all 3, I really like the down stairs the best . The larger apartment is called The First Mates Qt. It has a private courtyard with an electric shade. A nice place to have friends come and sit outside and listen to the outside sounds of jazz on the sound system . And the hammock is just wonderful .A Massage chair to help you relax after a long walk on the beach. Ex large TV .We have electric at the out side bar so you can make your frozen drinks , Electric sun shade to cover the patio And the best part the washer and dryer are on that floor . And the court yard is fenced in so I can let my doggie & kids run. But If you like the life of big screen TV and a massage chair, oh and the 12 jet marble bath for two then you would love the upstairs . I call that The Captains Qts and a nice view of the beach from the patio too, But if you're more the budget kind and you know you will be on the beach 90% of the time and don't want to spend allot on the place as much as you want to spend it on yourself then you want to stay in The Deck Hands Qt sleeps two. with a queen size wall bed for 2 & a daybed for 2 more ,Small but perfect size for two or 4 . queen bed and sony tv full kitchen and a shower. Called The Deck Hand Qt when you come back from the beach the two of you can shower outside or in and off to dinner you go just a short walk and you have three nice restaurants to eat at. Or stay home you have a large patio you can grill some steaks . And walk down and watch sunset with a glass of wine what could be more perfect !I Rent both units just open the double Hotel door and one unit becomes two. Large guest area on the lower level of the home that will sleep 8 .So the house up and down will sleep 13

Perfect Christmas Vacation!

Our family decided to spend Christmas at the beach and we were delighted with our selection of The Mermaid House. The family arrived on Christmas Eve ready to relax and celebrate Christmas together. Darlene was waiting to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. I thought about bringing a little Christmas tree to make the place look festive for Christmas morning, but Darlene had the place tastefully decorated for the holidays. It was a short walk to the beach to watch all of the beautiful sunsets or just hunt for shells and shark's teeth. The kayaking and horseback riding trips were less than a 15 minute drive from the house. Our dog loved going out on the porch, which was possible with the "doggie" gate at the stairs. Darlene went above and beyond to make our stay perfect....even setting up the fire pit for a relaxing evening outside. Thanks for a great vacation! It was just as described and more. We will be back again.

Everything turned out perfect! The tropical island beach house was ideal for my first visit to Florida from Los Angeles and to meet the family. We arrived late and Darlene was waiting to make sure we got settled (wow that was so nice thank you). She was very accomidating and keeps the place looking fantastic. We did many family activites but I could of just stayed home napping on the covered patio or watching the big screen TV. We could hear the ocean espcially at night, very relaxing It was nice having plenty of parking and no trafic to get here. It was great to experience the gulf coast with the white sand beaches. I've never seen so many sea shells before and we hunted for sharks teeth another first for me. We ate at some of the local resturants that were very beachy and fun (great seafood places). We could of cooked at home more since the kitchen had everything you need. I love mermaids and the house is full of mermaids even the door is eluminated glass with a mermaid carving. Darlene has put a lot of care into the place and she make its very special for her visitors. I highly recomend staying here, it will definatly recharge your batteries even if your with the family! :)

Staying on the island was amazing! The home was everything described and more. Our family reunion was saved by the covered patios and plentiful seating (no rain protection with our original outdoor plans). The tropical weather is great in November the home is so comfortable, we had no reason to leave the house. The beach is steps away where we did lots of shelling and hunting for sharks teeth. I can see how this place is ideal for kids and family being that it is in a very nice neighbor hood. We walked to the local eateries at night and felt very safe. There is almost no traffic in this area we did not hear or see many cars. Although we did not have any pets I think it is great that the patio is gated for pets. The house is truly a gem, private, quite, well equipped for cooking, plenty of parking, steps from the beach, steps from the boats, walking distance to bars and restaurants. This place would be ideal for long visits and I highly recommend for snow birds. We are defiantly coming back for the next family reunion forget the local hotels this place is far better!

Our stay at The Mermaid House was pure delight. For someone from the Denver Area, it was a real pleasure to be just a few steps to the beach and a 1,000 miles away from the snow. Every day we went to the beach several times and came home with a bag full shark’s teeth. Our trip to Florida was for my Mom’s Birthday, combined with a Family Reunion. In all there were 28 people from 8 different states. Our families stayed at different places along Englewood Beach and also in Venice. In their minds, the quality of our quarters clearly came in FIRST. We visited the places where other families were staying and decided to have our “family events” at the Mermaid House. (We had both the Captain’s Quarters and the First Mates Apartment.) The accommodations were the best and easily accommodated our large crew, even when it was raining.

We had a great time staying so close to the beach and in such wonderful quarters. We had the upstairs and the larger one on the bottom. Everything was perfect and we were able to have two family Bar B Ques with 28 family members attending from 8 states. Everyone thought we had a really great place and wished they had done as well. Everything was there that you could think of wanting in a place to stay. Better book this place quickly because there will certainly be a waiting line to get in. We stayed in the Captain's Qtrs and it was a very nice place and very clean. The beach was right there and very beautiful. We cooked all our meals there except for 1 night. There is everything there that you would need for cooking, grilling, etc. Darlene is very courteous and helpful. This was our 1st time staying in Englewood and I have lived in Florida my entire life. The porch was very relaxing in the evenings. We will defintely be back to stay again sometime. Thanks,

First time the whole family has had a full weeks vacation in 9 years. Well recommended the apartments are fully loaded and very clean. The owner is very courteous and helpful. The beach is a just right there and it was so beutiful. If you want a relaxing time then this is the place. Highly recommended and we will be back. Thank you for everything.

I thought the listing might be too good to be true but the entire house was artistically charming and well appointed, every detail had been considered, and every comfort provided. We were captivated by the beauty of the area, but even our rainy days were wonderful, bundled up in front of the big t.v."chillin" or reading on the giant lounges on the porch. Our lab Buddy loved it too. My husband is a great cook and he was thrilled with the kitchen and we had some of the best meals ever eating shrimp, crab and grouper from the Island Court right at the bridge. We will look forward to going back.

The Mermaid House lives up to every expectation. We felt right at home and Darlene welcomed us with open arms. Beautifully decorated, fully equipped, you truly couldn't ask for anything more.
