I would highly recommend this vacation house. My family and I, along with my sister and her family, my mother and my stepfather, and 3 of my daughters friends (13 people), spent spring break just this this past week and had a great time. The house lacks nothing, Plenty of room for all of us, (Owner) has thought of everything, I mean everything. Skied in Vail, Breckenridge, Copper mountain, Keystone. The scenery is beauitful both at the Lodge and to all the places we visited. We will most definitely be coming back to visit.

Just wanted to let you know that we truly enjoyed our stay at Lodge of the Rockies. The lodge was so inviting and there was so much room that we never got in each other's way(this is very important when stayng with extended family, lol!). It was in a perfect location. Nothing we did was too far away for a day trip. We enjoyed a day in Breckenridge, skied & snowboarded in Monarch, rode the cog railway in C. Springs, visited the Cliff Dwellings, even sledded on the volcanic hill. Beautiful!

I recommend this lodge to anyone looking to get away to peace and quiet and awesome views. We stayed Dec. 22, 2011 to Dec. 28, 2011, there was alot of snow, we were 7 adults and 2 kids the lodge had more than enough room for us to all spread out and have our on areas. There lodge was very well stocked with almost anything needed. The owner was more than helpful with any questions we had and I asure you we had alot. Very nice lodge and we will most certainly return.

We spent Labor Day weekend at Lodge of the Rockies with a group of friends. We rent cabins in the mountains probably 4 times per year and this was by far the best experience we've had to date. The owner was great to work with from start to finish. The cabin was very spacious, comfortable, well-appointed and spotlessly clean. We spent our days playing lots of bocce ball and horseshoes, riding around the loop on the bikes provided, watching for wildlife (there is plenty right out the windows!) and engaging in some rather aggressive foosball tournaments. The beds were extremely comfortable, the linens top-quality and the kitchen well stocked. Our group had such a wonderful time, we are talking about making it an annual thing. I highly recommend this property to any group looking for a great place to connect with each other and enjoy Colorado. You would be hard pressed to find a better place to spend your lodging dollars.

We arrived at the lodge around 7pm this evening and we are just blown away by how beautiful the house and the surroundings are. It's obvious that a lot of thought and care went into preparing the house. We just loved the lodge and can't wait for next time. NK, 9-2011

Could not have asked for more. Everything was furnished in wonderful detail and taste and was very clean and orderly. It felt just like home and we didn't want to leave. We enjoyed the wildlife, deer, rabbits, squirrels, ground squirrels and prarie dogs. So much fun to watch. We would love to come back sometime. At the time of rental we would like to have seen more pictures from inside the house but once there it didn't matter, it was so wonderful and surprising it made the anticipation worth it. We were surprised to find the owner at the rental when we arrived and he was very helpful in showing us around, how things worked and where to find things, offering us the use of some personal supplies. I would and have recommended this property to friends. Some of the fun things we enjoy when in that area are, of course, rafting on the Arkansas, exploring the old mining towns including St. Elmo, Alpine, Tin Cup and Pitkin, any of which can be found on the web. We also took a wonderful Jeep tour with High Country Jeep Tours in Buena Vista, to the top of Mount Antero.... What an absolutly awsome experience. It was a vacation of a lifetime. Everyone should be so lucky.

Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home. It was a fantastic setting and a perfect fit for our organization. Our weekend was both productive and enjoyable, in a large part because of the Lodge of the Rockies. We started discussing making this an annual event. We look forward to hopefully working with you in the future. Again, thank you a ton and we can't wait to return.

Our group stayed at this house the last week of July, 2010. This place was amazing. We had a large group, 13 adults and 2 babies, and there was easily enough room for all of us. The location is ideal, a short drive to Breckenridge, Buena Vista, Fairplay and Colorado Springs. The house has everything you could possible need, and was very well equipped. If you are looking for a great gathering place for a family reunion, etc, look no further. I would recommend this place to everyone I know.

The Lodge of the Rockies was great for our family. We had a large group of 4 grandparents, 4 parents and 6 children. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and there were so many things on the property to entertain everyone - the playstation, horseshoes and lawn games, walking the loop and climbing the hill, wildlife, and the puzzle we all worked on throughout our stay. There were many places nearby where we could fish and hike. We especially liked Cottonwood Lake. We went on different excursions during the day - St. Elmo, Mt. Princeton Hotsprings, Royal Gorge, Breckenridge, Pike's Peak area - and then met back at the house to have dinner together. The house was very comfortable and we enjoyed coming back each night. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

We're back from a great weekend at the Lodge!!! What a wonderful home... we had such a good time and couldn't believe how nice, spacious, fully equipped and relaxing the home is. The group was in agreement that we definitely want to come back and many were thinking about their own extended families for gatherings. So it was a big hit!!!

Our group of 11 (two families - 4 adults and our combined 7 children)stayed here the last week of July 2009 and found it to be the perfect retreat. Two things made it great: the home itself and the location. The home was spacious and comfortable and provided all the necessities for a worry-free stay. It was large enough for us to spread out and contained wonderful amenities (the foosball table was a big hit). We barely used the TVs, but that was a good thing. Highlights for us included coffee by the fireplace in the morning and grilling out at night, as well as walks around the "ranch" and climbing the "mountain" behind the house (a real workout). The location (by our reckoning, the nearest stoplight was 19 miles away) was perfect. Coming from North Carolina and Kansas, we wanted to accomplish two things on our week-long stay: first, relax. Second, be adventurous. The beauty and tranquility of the Lodge of the Rockies allowed for the former, and the great location (near Buena Vista's great rafting and close enough for "day trips" to mountains, mountain passes and a wide array of attractions) allowed for the latter. Our fellowship was truly enhanced by having three days of "planned" trips and three days of planned "no plan" time. We couldn't have been happier with our choice, especially considering we traveled halfway across the country to get there.

We had a wonderful time at the lodge of the Rockies. It easily accomodated our 3 families. We went whitewater rafting, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, and saw all the local attractions. The wildlife in the backyard was fabulous, as well as the lodge accomodations. We would highly recommend staying here. R & C D, 6/09.

People submit comments to us (Lodge owner) by email so we enter them here:) Thank you so much for sharing your mountain home with us! We had 10 ladies stay there on our semi-annual girl's weekend and couldn't have asked for a nicer place! We have stayed in a dozen or so places over the years and this one ranks 2nd only to the $600/night place. Very roomy, comfortable beds, amazing bathrooms!! Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate with us so we didn't get to enjoy the decks, but being inside was nice because everything was so great! This place is definitely going on our list for a future stay!

What a lovely place to stay. We stayed here in the late summer and had a wonderful time. Its close to lots of sights and for a family from Louisiana, we really appreciated the "cool-ish" weather. The lodge is immaculate and very comfortable. Thanks so much. We'll be back.

We really enjoyed our vaca. at your house, the area and the house were spectacular! Buffalo Joe's was incredible!!! They put us with another family (great people from the east coast) and we had an awesome guide (Earnst). I'm glad we went with your suggestion on "BJ's", the steak lunch was great too. We also did the gondala ride up Monarch Mt., the Royal Gorge train ride, 4-wheelers out of Buena Vista and a short horseback ride just north of Buena Vista, don't remember the name. All in all we had a great vacation, I really did'nt want to leave! We'd like to come back (with another family) sometime.

We felt as though we were guests in a good friend's home. Our extended family of seventeen had plenty of space to be together in one room & also to spread out in different areas throughout the house. The expansive views are beautiful. One of the highlights of our visit was having a Sunday morning family worship service on the deck. As the service was coming to an end we noticed a deer was standing within 20 feet of us! Thanks for a memorable weekend. We hope to return next summer.

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for sharing Lodge of the Rockies with us this past week. The Lodge was everything we imagined and MORE! Mornings were cool and the afternoons were very mild. There were even mountain rain showers (perfect napping weather) some afternoons. The daily wildlife sightings were a real treat . . . deer, antelope, jack rabbits, chipmunks, prairie dogs, and birds of every size and color. The highlight of every day was my morning coffee on the deck out back. The gourmet kitchen was a treat for my daughter and I who both love to cook. My husband took the helm at the grill for our many cook-outs including rainbow trout from nearby 11 Mile Reservoir and Lake Antero. The Lodge's location was perfect for day trips to the surrounding towns of Breckenridge, Buena Vista, Fairplay, Leadville, and the ghost town of St. Elmo. We also checked out beautiful Cottonwood Lake just outside of Buena Vista. Overall, we were thrilled to find almost everything we could ask for in your house, so all we really needed was to bring in the groceries! Thanks again!

This handwritten comment from guest: "As a long-time Colorado resident our family is always exploring the state. Upon arriving I am taken back by the beauty of the Collegiate Peaks. The lodge is more than we expected. Nice furnishings and tastefully decorated. Not like the old cheezy log cabin's from back in the day. Nice appliances, more room than the family needed, a marble bathroom with a tub I could swim in and very comfortable beds. All that is missing is the family photos on the wall to call it home! Thanks!
