Your pied-a-terre in Mendocino. A quiet place to rest, yet steps away from restaurants, shops and galleries, and walks on the beach or around the Headlands. A favorite of those attending classes at the Mendocino Art Center and writers on retreat.
Although it feels like a cottage, the Village Farm Retreat is actually a small part of a large 100+ year old Victorian on a one acre property two blocks up the street from the Alegria Oceanfront Inn and Cottages with which it is associated. There's a sound wall dividing it from the other part of the house, and it has its own entrance and porch space. The wonderfully landscaped garden includes a duck pond and six chickens in the chicken coop.
The retreat has one bedroom upstairs with a double bed and great ocean view from the writer's desk. On the main level is a small living room that has a twin size sofa bed and two chairs and a small efficiency kitchen, a TV, VCR and a stereo. The private bathroom has a claw foot tub with a shower attachment. There's a lovely porch where you can sit and relax and enjoy the peaceful garden and the view of Mendocino Bay and the ocean in the distance.
Amenities at the Alegria Inn, including use of the oceanfront garden, the ocean view hot tub, the path to the beach, concierge service, and the fresh homemade cookies are available to the guests of the Village Farm Retreat.
