Outside the cry of gulls and roar of the ocean let you know you are in Carmel-by-the-Sea. It is a magical place and the opportunity to reside, if only for a while, is both exhilarating and renewing. Step inside to the charming seaside décor in shades of ocean and sand. Charming and cozy, this "in town" condo is only 2.5 blocks to Ocean Avenue. With one bedroom and one bath, this unit is an affordable getaway - a quiet, private retreat.
Sip a glass of Monterey County wine in the comfortable living room complete with queen size sofa bed, fireplace, flat screen tv with cable, and large shuttered windows. Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the dining area for four to six adjacent to the kitchen. Linens, dinnerware and glassware are plentiful. Complete with all appliances, including oven/range, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and all the utensils, cookware and gadgetry necessary for the would-be gourmet, the kitchen is small, but efficient.
The spacious bedroom offers a queen size bed, plenty of closet and bureau storage, and a flat screen tv. There is an adjacent dressing area and full bath with a tub/shower combination. This unit is smoke free and very small pets will be considered with an additional deposit. A secure off street parking space is included in the rental price.
Walk across the street, or only one block and enjoy fabulous Carmel dining - another block and a half to Ocean Avenue with world class shops, restaurants and art galleries - and then head down a few more blocks to world famous Carmel Beach. After visiting Carmel for over 25 years, our joy in owning this little slice of heaven is the opportunity that we have to share it with new friends.

- Carmel-by-the-Sea is a charming village located about 120 miles South of San Francisco. Situated among towering pines and along a fabulous, dog-friendly beach, Carmel has a unique ambiance more commonly found in quaint European villages. Walking and exploring the winding streets, and courtyards while taking in the amazing architecture of the homes and cottages is one of our favorite pastimes, but there is no end to the ways to fill your days here. Shopping is extraordinary from world class art galleries to the most unique boutiques. A great cheese shop, the perfect cup of coffee, fresh fruits and flowers and a parking lot barbecue pork sandwich will continually delight the foodies among us - all just a block or two in any direction. Golf is perhaps the most famous pastime with enough incredible courses to keep even the most avid duffer delighted...from the incredible Pebble Beach to the public course at Pacific Grove.

Mike and I were married in Carmel in July, 1983. It has been one of our favorite places to visit for many years and when the opportunity to buy a small vacation get away here, we were delighted. We are big dog-lovers, so we often take our two 4-legged "kids", Charley (Border Collie/Spaniel) and Sadie (Black Lab) to the condo with us and love to take them to Carmel Beach. We have made many new friends through VRBO and really enjoy sharing our love of Carmel with others.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
The condo is like a peaceful sanctuary for us. It is a quiet, calm building with only a few permanent residents, and several weekenders. The neighbors are nice and everyone is very respectful of each others peaceful enjoyment of their homes. We often spend our days shopping and browsing in the great stores along Ocean Avenue and throughout Carmel or just walking the streets admiring the charming cottages and beautiful gardens that are found throughout the town. The Monterey Plaza - just 10 minutes from the condo - provides more shopping opportunities, but also has a great 12 screen movie theatre, a Whole Foods market (one of the best we've ever been in) and some great restaurants. Sunsets at the Inn at Spanish Bay accompanied by a lone bagpiper is an incredible experience. Golf is incomparable and there are no end of events that take place almost every weekend. Wine tasting in Carmel Valley and now found in the many tasting rooms in the village has become a fun pasttime. This is truly one place we can go to relax.
