The Conch House is a 1200 sq ft house facing the Caribbean, with a view of the ocean through the coconut palms. It is located within a small-protected development of about a dozen similar houses clustered around an idyllic cove that has the most absolutely beautiful sea-green water in the world.
The house has two bedrooms with two full bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a set of twin beds. There is a full kitchen and spacious living room with sliding doors to a private patio. There is a small washing machine, and a clothesline. All linens are provided, including beach towels. The kitchen is stocked with basics. There is an outdoor shower and an ipod player that has fittings for most ipods. There are also some books, a few games, three snorkels and masks, and fishing rods and reels.
Easy beach access is a two-minute walk to our incredible crystalline cove. There is a small, rocky beach, with shallow water that is safe and secure for children, even at high tide. The crystal-clear Caribbean waters of the cove are perfect for snorkeling, especially under the cliffs where you can see exotic parrotfish, angelfish, jacks and many other varieties. In fact, you may want to just hang out at the cove all day, snorkel and fish, walk next door for dinner at The Cove Resort next door, and never leave.
LOCATION
Eleuthera is located just to the east of Ft. Lauderdale and to the south of Nassau, The Bahamas. It is a quick hop by plane (about 45 minutes) from the US. Oleander Gardens is located in the northern part of the island, just south of the "Glass Bridge" and just 2 miles north of the quaint island town of Gregory Town. Known for its pineapples and hospitality, Gregory Town also has a small grocery store, gas station, island gift shop, and other amenities.
Oleander Gardens is 20 minutes South of Eleuthera International Airport (ELH) or 35 minutes from Governor’s Harbor (GHB) to the south, the capitol town of the island, which also has an airport. It is also just a short walk next door to The Cove Resort, which has an elegant bar, restaurant and other amenities. |
