Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2000
I live in gentle beautiful Sedona, Arizona where I have a Clinical Nutrition and Chiropractic practice. I have a favorite mountain trail I enjoy walking every morning for meditation and for exercise.
Why the Owner Chose Mazatlan
My family has a long history in Mazatlan as well as a small neighboring town of El Recodo where my grandparents were from. My aunties, uncles, and many of my cousins reside in Mazatlan to this day and it is a delight to be there with them, as well the culture, food, ambiance, etc. There is a sense of stepping back in time.
The Unique Benefits of this villa
I enjoy staying in this home in Mazatlan because although it is grand, its high ceilings with ancient beams, the worn brick floors, as well as the thick walls and the large spanish windows remind me of the homes I spent time in which were those of my grandparents.

I stayed Feb 21-28, 2010. In addition to saying it is a spacious and very comfortable home, I must add LOCATION,LOCATION, LOCATION! It is so close to everything in Centro! Literally a short walking distance to the Cathedral, Mercado, Plaza Machado, Olas Altos and the Malecon. Located in a friendly and quiet neighborhood as you ascend Ice Box Hill. In the mornings I would take the short walk to the Malecon then jog along the ocean for twenty minutes. Buy a newspaper at the grocery store two blocks from the house and read it on the patio with the coffee I made in the kitchen. Aroma Massage is only a few blocks away and a must do 150 peso 1 hr massage on Saturdays, otherwise 250. Internet service also nearby, across the street from the cathedral. Easy walk to Plaza Machado for breakfast or dinner. Lots of activity there especially Fri and Sat evenings. You can call for taxi service from the house (need your own phone) or just a short walk to buses, taxis and pulmonias. Only 50 pesos to the old marina and deep sea fishing or to the cruise ships and restaurant La Puntilla. The house has ceiling fans throughout and air conditioners. Full kitchen stocked w utensils. Take the spiral staircase in the patio up to the roof for a panoromic view of Centro and the water beyond where you will see cruise ships off in the distance. Security was exceptional with an "Alamo" door at the main (and only) entrance and the enclosed patio very well secured. You can easily catch a bus to the Golden Zone for 9 pesos or take a pulmonia for 50 pesos. A Ley's Supermarket is about a 10 minute or less walk away. Ricardo, the caretaker was very pleasant and available, but not intrusive. It was my first stay at Daisey's place and I hope the first of many to follow! You can learn more about Mazatlan from fellow travelers on line at TripAdvisor Mazatlan Forum. I post there as Bulldoug-Tucson.

This is and old but in perfect conidtion, spanish colonial and wonderful home! Very spacious, a gourmet kitchen and a lovely, large and very private garden. The location is excellent -easy walking distance to beach, Plaza Machado and the Cathedral plaza. The owner and her onsite contacts were very, very helpful.
