Another new and exceptional rental home in our Moosewood Vacation Rentals lineup is the Antlers. Located on 2.5 acres high above the city in the prestigious Upper Hillside area of Anchorage, Antlers is home to several horses and surrounded by wildlife. Antlers is nestled into the hillside, with incredible 180-degree views of Cook Inlet, Sleeping Lady (Mt. Susitna), the Alaska Range, and Mt. McKinley (Denali).
Perfectly located 15 minutes from the airport or downtown Anchorage, Antlers is just one mile from the Prospect Heights trail head of the Chugach State Park, and less than a five-minute drive from the Flattop Mountain trail heads, Anchorage Golf Course, Alaska Zoo, and Hilltop Ski Area.
Antlers is a spacious three-story home with walls of windows designed to enjoy the vast Alaskan scenery, wildlife, and long colorful sunsets. As is typical of Alaskan homes, the main living level is on the second floor and is designed for entertaining. The home has a large and well-equipped kitchen with plenty of seating, a half-bath, laundry room, and a large wrap-around deck with BBQ. Antlers has two living rooms, one with a cathedral ceiling and one with a fireplace and its own sofa bed. The first of two master suites, "the Bear's Den," is also located on this level. It is a spacious room with a king bed, large closets, and a private bath.
The third level is a large and open loft area with a queen sofa bed and our second master suite, the airy "Bird's Nest." It has a king bed, vaulted ceiling, walk-in closet, reading alcove, and private balcony.
Altogether, the upper two levels of Antlers has over 2600 square feet and can comfortably sleep six to 8 people.
PLEASE NOTE: If your group requires more space, there are an additional two bedrooms (one with a double and twin and the other with a king) and one bath available on the first floor. This adds 1000 square feet of space and brings the total number of bedrooms to four and bathrooms to three and 1/2. See rates below or inquire.
Amenities include wireless Internet access and a 42-inch flat-screen TV with premium cable. To ensure that your stay is an enjoyable one, a light breakfast of your choice is provided on the first day of your stay at Moosewood, and a complimentary bottle of champagne welcoming you to "The Greatland" is chilled awaiting your arrival. As with our other home, Moosewood, all beds are furnished with Nova foam therapeutic mattresses. If you have never slept on this type of bed before, get ready for the best sleep of your life.
