Our family of 5 adults and 2 granddaughters (4 and 7 yr olds) had a Christmas to remember at Moose Mountain Lodge!!! We found the house to far exceed our expectations in size, quality, cleanliness, and location! It was well described in the listing but was much nicer than we even expected! G-Ma took along decorations, a tree, lights etc such that the girls would have a nice Christmas Eve and morning. The beautiful fireplace and family room set the mood. Everything was perfect with Santa and also even a beautiful deer visiting the house on Christmas morning. With snow on the ground the girls were able to sled and play near the house. We visited RMNP three times, once for sledding and some hiking. Estes Park was decorated for Christmas and had nice shops and stores. We found good restaurants in the city and I even experienced a moose burger! The locals were very friendly and pleasant and helpful. The owners provided detailed maps, access info for the property and they answered some pre-trip questions. We found the house in excellent condition, well stocked with assorted supplies, and equipped such that we cooked several Christmas meals with the help of the local Safeway. We especially enjoyed the ping pong table and hot tub. We all would like to return to Moose Mountain for a summer visit to RMNP. We highly recommend the property to others, especially family groups. Thanks very much to Randy and Mitzi for making Moose Mountain Lodge available. This visit provided a Christmas to remember for all of our family! z

Randy and Mitzi – Just a note to let you know that all went well with our stay at your home! We have enjoyed it very much and it was a very fun and different Christmas for the family and our two granddaughters (7 and 3yrs). The nine inches of snow that fell a day before we arrived was perfect and allowed for some sledding at the cabin and in the park. We enjoyed the table tennis also with a couple family tournaments! Overall things were just great and we’d definitely like to come back sometime. The girls enjoyed the deer and the whole herd of elk! Hope you have a great 2012! Thanks much, D Z Bartlesville, OK 74006

My family and I stayed at Moose Mountain Lodge Oct. 2011, we had not been to Colorado in the fall and it was a GREAT trip, good time to go and avoid the summer crowds, and we found the perfect place to stay at Moose Mountain Lodge. All descriptions and pictures were accurate and beyond our expectations, the hot tub was enjoyed by all and the instructions for use of were very thorough. The house was well kept and very clean, the bottle of wine was an added bonus!! We would highly recommend this property, and hope to use it again in the future.

Moose Mountain Lodge was the perfect place to return to after long days of hiking in RMNP. We stayed there with our two teenage sons, my sister, and her husband. The kids loved the ping pong table in the basement and having the extra bed, bath & laundry facilities down there was great! the porch & deck were lovely, and though we never got a chance to use the hot tub, it looked so inviting out there. The place was immaculate, very well-maintained and comfortable. Great location! Peaceful & quiet and only minutes from the house to RMNP and the town of Estes Park. Though there were plenty of restaurants to choose from in town, it was great to have a Safeway grocery store so close by since we cooked dinner in most nights. Thank you to the owners, Randy & Mitzi for making the rental/check-in process so easy and for sharing your beautiful mountain home.

The place was just as described: warm, inviting, peaceful, beautiful views and lots of wildlife. There were eight of us, including 5 teenagers, and there was plenty of room to spread out. We loved it. We hiked, relaxed on the front porch, soaked in the hot tub, played some vicious ping pong tournaments and enjoyed my mom's incredible home cooking. Fantastic experience!! Randy and Mitzi are excellent hosts. We definitely will be back.

My family recently returned from Estes Park, Co where we had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the Moose Mountain Lodge. It is a beautiful, well-maintained home with magnificient views of the Rockie Mountains. It was a real pleasure to return to this lovely home after our day's activities. Our family really enjoyed sitting out on the porches each afternoon, cooking out and enjoying the cool air and gorgeous sunsets. We saw deer every morning and afternoon. They would literally come right up to the back porch. One of our favorite experiences was seeing a mother deer and her two fawns follick right outside the dining room windows one early morning. Our 8 year old grandson was thrilled! It is a fabulous property with very nice owners, Randy & Mitzi. We felt very comfortable communicating with them. Their pride of ownership is reflected in this lovely home.

Our family of four plus our son's fiance' spent a week at Moose Mountain. What a treasure! Every morning we saw deer in the yard, including twin fawns. One evening as we returned from town we came upon 5 BIG bull elk. Moose Mountain was perfect for us! We got to spend quality time together in such a warm and inviting atmosphere. After horseback riding and hiking all day it was amazing to slide into the hot tub with the mountain views. Every room was so nicely decorated and the ping pong table in the basement hosted some fierce competitions during our stay. After staying at Moose Mountain I doubt we'll ever vacation at a hotel again. But Moose Mountain will be a tough act to follow now that our expectations will be so high! Randy and Mitzi know how to do it with the utmost quality and ease for their guests! Thank you for making our vacation one of unlimited memories for us and our children.

This cabin was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do & see in Estes. It was super clean, very spacious and overall was the perfect place to stay on our vacation. I would gladly stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone. While it was just the two of us with our 11 month old, 6 to 8 people could easily stay here.
Owner response:Thanks to our guests from Springfield, MO. It was a pleasure to serve you. For future guests, we want to make you aware that we have a "Pack & Play" as well as a solid wood high chair to make life easy for you and your small children. -Randy & Mitzi

My husband, our 14 year old neice, and I enjoyed a beautiful week at Moose Mountain Lodge, May 31st - June 5, 2011. We have booked vacation homes through VRBO several times and have always been pleased, but Moose Mountain was among the BEST we've rented! Our top priority when booking was "the view", and we were not disappointed - it was spectacular! The first evening we sat in the hot-tub on the back deck and watched a glorious sunset over the snow-capped mountain range. As we were getting out of the hottub just after dark, my neice spotted an owl in the top of a pine tree, "welcoming" us to Moose Mountain. That was the first of our wildlife viewing for the week. The next morning, we were thrilled to wake up and look out the wall of windows to see the mountains and watch deer grazing in the yard. This home was immaculately clean when we arrived and obviously very well maintained. It is very well appointed with everything we needed for cooking some meals, doing laundry, watching movies, playing games, and of course, the hottub, as I mentioned! The location was ideal for our needs. We loved being "out" enough to have a view, but also the convenience of being able to run into town within a matter of minutes for restaurants and shopping. Rocky Mountain National Park is just a short drive (maybe 20 minutes?) away. Just the three of us had way more than enough room in this house! We could have chosen a smaller home, but the ammenities at Moose Mountain were just what we were looking for and we're so glad we chose it. We checked out on Sunday morning and had a two and 1/2 day drive back to Ohio. The day after we got home, we had our security deposit back in the mail! That impressed us! Thanks, Randy and Mitzi, for sharing your beautiful mountain retreat with us - it's surely a blessing too sweet to keep to yourselves! Tim and Tami Ledford, Willard, OH

This was our first time visiting Colorado and our first time in Estes Park. What a beautiful place and we enjoyed every minute in the Moose Mountain Lodge! If you're looking for a nice cabin will great amenities, then look no further. If you're looking for local wildlife in the area, you won't have to look far -- we saw elk, deer, chipmunks and all sorts of birds nearby. We were only minutes from downtown Estes Park as well as a short drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. Great location, will be back next time we are in Colorado!

We had a group of 8 and there was plenty of room. Great location, beautiful home, fun collection of board games and puzzles. Hot tub was very relaxing after a hike at Rocky Mountain National Park. Randy and Mitzi (the owners) are super sweet and responsive. The only problem we encountered during our stay was that we were unable to connect to the wireless router with a Mac. Apple Care diagnosed this as a problem with the type of router, but those with PCs shouldn't have a problem!
Owner response:We were stymied by the problem with the wireless router. The guests that stayed before and after did not report a problem but we never know what brand of computers our guests use. Abby was gracious by letting us know that it is a compatability issue w/Apple. The router is only 1 1/2 years old so we figured it would work for all brands. Unfortunately we are not computer geeks so we couldn/t help. We will be visiting this weekend so we will be able to get the brand and model and get a fix. Mitzi & Randy.

What a respite this home provided for us! The property is very well maintained with many amenities. We stayed here in September and it was a wonderful retreat from the Texas heat and daily work pressures. The area has plenty of activities, but just relaxing in this home made the trip worthwhile. This was our first experience with VRBO and the owners were easy to work with and very accommodating.

Our family stayed from July 31st to August 7th. This is a wonderful mountain home! We vacation in Estes Park almost every year and this was definetly our favorite spot yet! The property was very well kept, descriptions prior were accurate (perhaps even underestimating the property and its view of the Rockies). We enjoyed a peaceful, serene setting that was still just minutes away from everything we needed. We loved the wildlife, porch, hot tub, and the ping pong table was a hit with the guys! The owners made the whole process of renting trouble free. We would recommend this property and hope to return many more times!

The cabin was incredibly beautiful, clean, and felt like we were at home. We appreciated the provided high-chair, level of cleanliness for our kids, and all around comfort. The cabin is very nicely decorated, and was bigger than it looked in the photos allowing our family plenty of room to spread out. The cabin can easily support 8-10 people, and having 3 full bathrooms was a very nice attribute. Sitting in the hot tub after our long days hiking and just watching the sunset over the mountains was pretty hard to beat! The cabin also has great wildlife viewing with hummingbirds, picas, deer, and elk frequently sighted around the yard. Our family would definately recommend this cabin and look forward to visiting Moose Mountain Lodge in the future.

Great place to stay! The home is beautiful and in a great location close to town and the Park but very private. The property is very well kept. Wildlife abounds in the area and not a day went by that we did not see deer or elk from the living room windows and the wonderful covered porch ( a family favorite). Would definitly stay again when we return to Estes.

Rented the property from 7/25 to 8/1 and had a wonderful time. Property was beautiful, very comfortable and very well kept up. Owners were very responsive to all questions leading up to the rental date and provided detailed instructions. Whole process of reserving it, checking in, and checking out was completely painless. One very minor glitch was handled immediately to our complete satisfaction. I cannot recommend the property and the owners highly enough, and look forward to renting this particular property again for a future vacation.

I too had searched all over for a family cabin that we could all enjoy. We sure found it in Moose Mountain Lodge. The home is beautiful inside and out with all the conveniences of home and super close to one of the most beautiful National Parks in our great country. Star gazing in the hot tub was awesome too. I would come back hear in a minute except for the 1,025 mile drive. We would all recommend this vacation rental

We are so happy that we were able to rent this home. We scoured the rentals available before selecting this home. Still, until you arrive, you can not be sure of what to expect. Well, heaven is what we got. An absolutely gorgeous home that wrapped its arms around us as we walked in the door and tightened its grip as we tried to leave. Honestly,we do not think there is a better home in the Rockies. Not at any price. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and this was a dream vacation altogether. We hope to spend a Christmas there within the next several years. Summer, winter, this home is top notch.

We stayed at Moose Mountain Lodge during the 4th of July Holiday – 2008. The house was absolutely gorgeous, very clean and modern. It was also the perfect location (close to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park). The house was also very spacious which allowed guests time to themselves. The beds were very warm, welcoming which provided many nights of deep relaxing sleep. I would highly recommend the Moose Mountain Lodge for a great get-away for future family vacations.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful lodge with my family 6/28 to 7/5. Left behind a necklace belonging to my mother. Velia said she found it and would mail it me. Have not received it. Gave my address on her voicemail. Offered to reimburse for her trouble.Reservation made by Ann Mead from North Carolina
Owner response:Velia is our cleaning person who found and returned the necklace via USPS. Unfortunately it was not sent by registered mail so it cannot be traced. As of this writing, 10/28/08, the necklace has not been located. We are very sorry and disappointed that the necklace has not located. Moose Mountain Lodge.

We had a great stay at this wonderful, modern log home. The layout, with three levels for sleeping worked great for us, our daughter and son-in-law and their three sons. Almost every day provided us with different wildlife outside the cabin. We recommend early June as a good time to visit this area, as the summer crowds had not arrived. We were blessed with snow one day that our grandsons from Houston loved.

We just recently listed our log home on VRBO for the first time. However, we have been renting "Moose Mountain Lodge" since the summer of 2000. When time allows, We will be adding comments from our guests as they wrote them in our guest book that is left in the lodge. We enjoy reading the comments that our guests leave us and we are amazed at all the different experiences that they share. We encourage you to leave your comments with us and for future guests on the VRBO site after you visit with us.

"Thank you for sharing your wonderful log home with us. It was a pleasure to be your first guests ever. The peace and quiet of the acreage was unbelievable and yet the proximity to Rocky Mountain Nat'l park and downtown Estes Park was within the 10 minutes described. We ejoyed the hiking, scenery and the wildlife. We saw deer and elk in the trees just off the porch area. We will be back."
