This is our second year to stay here and it was AWESOME! We were looking for a home away from home and this exceeded our expectations. The owner is wonderful to work with and the local management company makes everything easy. We LOVED everything about this rental and look forward to staying here for years to come. Thank you Justin and Christine - it is such a blessing to work with you both.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you so much Jennifer!! It is an absolute pleasure to work with you and your family and we look forward to doing it again next year!

Really enjoyed staying in this Pegosa Cabin, close enough to Coffee Shops & Restaurants. Great layout for a large groups and tucked into the woods for a little peace & quiet. Entertained on the porch and spacious living room. Large Mud room and basement to keep all of our snowboard/ skiing gear inside to dry off. Loved all the unique furniture pieces. And most important, not too far from Wolf Creek. We just missed the cut off for Durango season, but close enough to that too. This will be an annual trip for sure.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

MY family rented this house for the first time this year and will not go anywhere else from now on! We snowshoed down the trail to the overlook, sledded on the golf course and, of course, spent time at Wolf Creek. Awesome skiing there. The gameroom was perfect for the kids to play Wii and my oldest to use the WiFi. The big windows offered some awesome views of the snowfall, stars, etc. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This home is a great getaway for families with or without kids. Our kids loved riding their bikes in the peacful neighborhood and the hiking trails right out the back door. Conviently located near downtown and some great local restaurants. The kids loved the gameroom as their own little hideout. We have also visited this home in the winter without the kids. Very cozy with moutain views, snowshoeing trails near by and wolf creek within a short drive.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Beautiful spacious home very well appointed and very clean. Obviously professionally decorated this home has wonderful mountain views with a lovely deck that wraps around the second floor and is splendid for grilling. Each bedroom suite was large and one had a private bath. Our kids loved the bunk room and game room on the first floor. 3 miles from grocery store, shops and nightlife. This home really is perfect for adult couples or families with both older and younger children. This truly is a spectacular home and we had a wonderful time.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My family spent a wonderful Chirstmas week in this beautiful and well maintained home. We even had a Christmas tree ,thanks to Justin. We had 4 children, ages 2, 4, and two 14 year olds and there was something to do for all of them. There was easy access to everything, such as sleding, snowmobiling and snowboarding. This property is very close to a grocery store and many eating places. This property met all of our expectations from the listing descriptions and photos. Thanks for a Christmas that will be remembered for years to come.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

What a beautiful, idyllic location for a fall foliage tour of the high country! We and another retired couple vacationed in this very nicely appointed home in late October and had a wonderful experience. The home was clean, spacious, and provided for all our needs. We especially appreciated the main level master, a nice touch for retirees who don't want to climb a lot of stairs. We enjoyed many varied activities because the the lovely home was centrally located to Wolf Creek, Durango, and was just a short drive to Mesa Verde. Although situated in a residential area, there was easy access to hiking trails and it was extremely quiet. We spent several relaxing evenings in the spacious living room watching the stars and moon thru the floor to ceiling windows. The owner and property management staff were extremely helpful, courteous, and responsive to all our inquiries. We'll definitely be back soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

If you have ever wanted to have your own "cabin in the mountains", this is the place to be! The house felt like "home" as we drove up to it on our first day, July 20th. PS is centrally located to many locations that provide unbelievable scenery, easy access to hiking, fishing, etc. and is close enough to town to provide convenient shopping. We had family members from as far away as Ohio join us during the week, and all have let us know how much they enjoyed staying at this house. I especially enjoyed watching the sun rise while sitting on the large deck each morning!. My wife enjoyed the large dining/living area where everyone could join in mealtime fun!. We look forward to our next visit!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

We couldn't have picked a better place than Pasgosa Springs to spend our annual family vacation at...and to have the privilege of using your beautiful home. We were immediately impressed by the location of the home, and the surrounding forest. Great meals were prepared in the spacious kitchen, and many fond memories were made in the downstairs game room. Personally, I enjoyed the early morning hour sitting on the deck and listening to the birds. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We lived in Pagosa for a few years to get away from the hectic pace of life in Dallas, TX. Prior to moving, we had taken many trips up to Pagosa over the years and fell in love with it. It's easy to see why they call it God's Country. Each season has its own beauty. Not to mention all of the fantastic outdoor activities: skiing, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, hunting, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, kayaking, rafting, fishing...shall I go on? Once my son was born, we decided to head back to Texas to be closer to family. I decided to keep our home in Pagosa and turn it into a retreat for other families to enjoy. My family still goes up to the Pagosa Mountain Retreat about 4-5 times per year. We try to enjoy a stint of each season. We hope you will as well.
Why the Owner Chose Pagosa Springs:
We chose to buy a home in Pagosa Springs as it was, and still is, the most beautiful place we have ever seen. Being on top of the Continental Divide as the wildflowers are blooming in July is truly one of the most breath-taking experiences.
Pagosa is the best secret out there. Wolf Creek literally gets the most snow in Colorado each year and offers the best skiing/boarding conditions anywhere in the state. Check out the parking lot next time you are there and you will see a lot of CO plates. People drive from Denver when Wolf Creek gets a big snow. The weather patterns moving moisture up from the Baja into the San Juans creates the best conditions for snowfall. Durango Mountain Resort and Monarch are just a short drive away. The Weminuche Wilderness is the largest in the state and offers prestine forest to explore and numerous opportunities for seeing wildlife. Ten 14ers are within a few hours drive for the peek-bagging enthusiast. The gold medal waters fo the San Juan, Rio Grande, Animas and Piedra Rivers offer the best trout fishing around.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are lucky to be situated right on the San Juan National Forest border. You can walk out the front door and literally be standing in the forest in less than a minute. The Pagosa Mountain Retreat sits across from Dutton Canyon and backs to Martinez Canyon. Snowshoeing and cross country skiing are great activities in the winter and hiking for miles in the summer. Bears, elk, deer, coyotes, turkeys all migrate up and down the canyons. Not unusual at all to see elk and deer in the front yard.
The mountain views off the decks are fantastic. Clear views of the Continental Divide along the San Juans'East Range. The private decks from the upstairs bedrooms are great for drinking coffee and watching the sun rise over the mountains to start a new day of adventure.
Best part is you may see 5 cars go by over a week's time. The neighborhood of Twin Creek Village is less than 5 minutes to everything, but still out where it's so quiet and peaceful. The stars at night on a clear evening go on forever. No sirens or city lights here...
