Great home on one of the largest golf course lots in Shipyard. 4 bedrooms, 3 full and 2 half baths, approx. 3600 sq. ft. This home has high ceilings, an open floor plan, and lots of light. It offers a fabulous media room with foosball table and an office with wireless internet connection and exercise equipment. It is an easy bike ride to the beach.
For sleeping accommodations, this home has 3 queen beds and a double bed. The master has a large bath with double vanities, whirlpool tub, a separate shower and huge walk-in closet.
Exercise on the extensive shaded bike/walking paths or on equipment in the office, or if you prefer, use the wonderful fitness center and indoor pool at the Crowne Plaza. Membership is included in the rental. We do not have access to an outdoor pool. Of course, the beach is only a bike ride or short car ride away where you can enjoy all your favorite beach activities. Then return home to enjoy peace and quiet in the hammock on the shaded back deck overlooking the golf course.
If you have a large party and need additional accommodations, we have an arrangement with an owner of a 2-bedroom, 2-bath villa at Evian which can be rented for an additional cost, depending on availability. It was completely renovated last year and is a beautiful unit. It is conveniently located between the house and the beach.
A beach locker is available for storage of beach items. The beach club can be rented for special occasions.
No pets and no smoking and please note the maximum number of people allowed is 10.

Year Purchased: 2004
We live in Gainesville, Georgia, where Tommy works in the poultry industry and Sherry is a realtor. We love going to the beach and when we found Hilton Head Island, we knew we'd found a jewel! It has a bit of a tropical feel with lush plants and flowers. It was also the first vacation place we'd found where we could truly get away from our hectic schedules and relax. It is a place where we can do nothing or we can choose from any number of activities to do and places to eat. Over the years, we have made many wonderful memories there with family and friends. We're extremely thankful that God has blessed us with this home and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. It's not just rental property for us; it really is our second home.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
In 2001, we began our search for a vacation property where our family could enjoy spending time together and making memories. We settled on Hilton Head Island because it is not just a beach community. It is a community with a beach but with also an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, a perfect place for a family. Along with having approximately 27 golf courses on the island and many others just off island, it also offers activities such as swimming, tennis, miniature golf, movie theatres, lots of shopping, kayaking, boating, fishing, and many others.
We purchased our home in Shipyard Plantation because it is less crowded than the other plantations that also offer beach access. Also, our home is on a dead-end street that makes it even quieter. We enjoy the tree-covered paths for bike riding or walking year-round. When we drive into the plantation, the speed limit drops to 25 mph and immediately we take a big sigh and catch our breath, realizing we have arrived at a form of paradise.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The most unique feature of our home is the media room. It has a big screen high-definition TV, a foosball table, a comfortable leather reclining sofa and a separate recliner. It also has an island with a granite countertop and bar stools, as well as a microwave and dishwasher. This room is the favorite spot of everyone, but especially the kids.
Another unique benefit is the hammock on the back deck. We've spent many hours reading a book there.

This house is wonderful. Excellent furnishings. We had a great week. Lots of natural light you don't normally get in a rental unit. Perfect for my wife and I along with our adult daughters, son in law and and grandchild. Lots of room to spread out and have your own space if needed. Definitely a place we will want to return to. Golf view and easy access to all bike paths.

Well, I am a 14 year old boy, who went to this house last year, and all I can say is WOW! We had 14 people over in this beautiful home, and we all fit in very nicely. Myself and the other 3 teenagers went upstairs to the game room to sleep, play games, watch movies, etc. The golf course in the backyard is very nice, and also the grill. We did not enter the weight lifting room very often, to respect the owners property, because Lord knows what we teens would have messed up! The beach is a short bike ride away, as well as the pool. The house was perfect for me and my family, and we enjoyed our stay with great intensity. We went last year, and will be going again this year, on July 24- June 1, 2010. And a final note, the over all cleanliness of the home was staggering. Even as a young man, I noticed how well-put the house was! thank for letting us use your home as a place where memories were shared, and cherished. It was a perfect vacation. - Lewis Lester

This house was awesome! It was able to sleep 2 families of 5 comfortably Everything was beautiful! We liked the layout of the house. Our children are old enough that they disappeared up into the media room to watch movies and play games. The deck and grill are great for cooking out. It was only a short trip to the beach. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!

This home is the nicest we have stayed in during all the years we have vacationed in Hilton Head. It comfortably housed our 8 adults and 2 grandchildren. It has all the amenities we could desire and the neighborhood is beautiful.

What a wonderful home!!!
