Winter retreat

We went looking for a place of peace and quiet and that was exactly what we got. The setting was one of peace and serenity. No sounds of the city, just the wind blowing through the trees. The cabin was cozy even when the temperature was in the teens outside. It was equipped with all you needed to just stay up in the mountain. Loved the pond, the hiking trails and being secluded. Would love to see it again in the Spring when all the wildlife may be more active. Would recommend this place to romantic couples as well as families with children. You will not be disappointed.

We enjoyed this beautiful cozy cabin. We had a fabulous time hiking to the waterfalls in Dupont Forest. Bridal Veil Falls and Triple Falls were our favorites. The cabin is very nice and stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and we will return someday for a longer stay.

Romantic getaway, action packed trip, or relaxing weekend, your choice.

This cabin was the honeymoon spot for my wife and I. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back to celebrate our 1st anniversary. This place is quiet and serene for enjoyable down time and getting away from all the noise of life. However there is plenty to see and do within a very reasonable driving distance. Within five or ten minutes you can view breathtaking waterfalls, hike or bike trails, go horseback riding, or even zip lining! Most of these activities we did on our first stay. Some of our more favorite waterfalls include hooker falls, triple falls, and looking glass falls. Asheville is within a 45 minute drive, Brevard and Hendersonville are closer to 20 or 25 and offer many great dining choices and quaint downtown stores to browse through. Whether you are interested in a romantic getaway, an action packed adventure, or relaxing by fishing at the pond or sitting by a warm fireplace, this cabin truly is "A GEM in the forest".

Our Sept 2011 Vacation - Perfect!

My husband and I stayed 8 nights at the cabin. It was comfy and had all the necessities. It truly was BEYOND peace & quiet!! We were close enough to the area attractions: numerous hikes and waterfalls; Brevard's downtown area which we were lucky enough to catch a festival; Hendersonville which had its annual apple harvest festival during our stay; a variety of restaurants from the ma & pa homestyle meal to a wine & dine type place and several quaint little stores - everything within 1/2 hour drive or less. The cabin was just as we expected, and we're always happy to get what we expect. I do want to highlight that the road to the cabin could require a 4 wheel drive in the winter. Although, our front wheel drive worked just fine (in low gear) in September climate.

Beautiful Cabin

I stayed at this cabin the last week of July and had an absolutely wonderful time. This cabin is set back on a great piece of property very quiet and secluded and just minutes away from a lot of great single track mountain biking. The town Brevard is only a short 10 minute drive lots of great places to grab dinner. I would also recommend taking a trip to Hendersonville about 20 minutes away we had a great dinner there as well. The owners of the cabin were very nice and made us feel like we were at home.

The cabin was the perfect get-away for a long weekend. We will definitely be back and will share our "great find" with our friends. Our boys said that it was one of their favorite vacations ever.

We can not wait to go back. Our children will never forget catching their first trout, hiking the waterfalls, horseback riding and those relaxing rocking chairs. We will go back.

This is a great cabin. Very clean, comfortable, cozy. The kids loved the loft. Mom and dad loved the front porch, rocking chairs and fireplace! Lots of trails on the property to explore and only a few minutes from Dupont Forest with awesome waterfalls. Good proximity to Brevard for shops, dinner, etc. Definitely would come again. Thanks, Brenda!

This is lovely ... secluded and cozy my family of 4 spent a relaxing week hiking, biking cooking, watching dvd's and enjoying ourselves. The many and varied trails of Dupont are close at hand. The tranquility of the spot welcome. Should you wish a meal out or movie night both Brevard and Hendersonville are 20 minutes in either direction, Asheville 40. The kitchen is well outfitted and catch your own trout right outside.

Our family stayed there in the summer of 2008 and we are really looking forward to returning there this summer! The cabin and the trout pound are awesome, the property is beautiful...you can hike on the gorgeous property around the cabin and of course there are many waterfalls and hiking trails to explore nearby. It's an easy drive to the towns of Brevard and Hendersonville. We highly recommend this cabin!

My husband and I stayed at this Cabin in August 2006. It was wonderful. The weather was a great break from the Florida heat, the Owners live adjacent to the property and were very helpful. The cabin is even nicer then the pictures. Also, there are a lot of things to do in this part of North Carolina. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I and another couple staying in the cabin Oct 28-31, 2005. The cabin is really nice and fully equipped including a wood-burning fireplace. The best part was the trails that started just behind the cabin. We did not even have to move our vehicles to access a wonderful trail system. I would highly recommend this cabin.

We stayed at this cabin in April 05. We mainly take trips to the Carolinas for waterfalls and this location was perfect for just that. It is a lovely, fairly secluded cabin with beautiful grounds and breathtaking views when hiking the property. The cabin could not have been any more perfect for us. It was very clean and pleasantly furnished. The property owner lives nearby and is available for any questions or needs you may have. We will definitely return!

This is truly a "Gem in the Forest".We enjoyed spending the Thanksgiving holidays here. It is an absolutely beautiful place. Our children had so much fun fishing, working puzzles and catching salamanders. We will definitely become "regulars".

We stayed in this cabin in August, 2003 and can't wait to return. It's location is convenient to all the water falls, trails and parks. The cabin is very clean and certainly has everything you need there. The owners are a short distance away and very helpful with any questions about the local sites. Thanks again! See you next year!!
