My family and I (wife and 3 teenage kids) are now back home and missing this place already! It was so wonderful to come to somewhere which was so welcoming and pretty, with such phenomenal views and an abundance of wildlife, where we could really enjoy the relaxing atmosphere (greatly aided by frequent use of the hot tub!). Even more than that, though, the owners need special mention for being such generous, attentive and sweet-natured hosts - they looked after all of us so well, and went far beyond the call of duty, especially in regard to helping my wife, who had sprained her knee just before we arrived, providing not just ample moral support, cakes and other delicacies but also alternative therapy to help her treat her injury! They are a lovely, kind, caring couple who really are comitted to helping their guests have a good time. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Taste of Zanzibar to anyone looking for a tranquil family holiday or a restful retreat - hopefully we will be able to return some day for more! - though it is also eminently suitable as a base for a more busy holiday with all the many amenities of Cambell River just 10k up the road.as well as the many proviincial parks and activity opportunities within easy reach. Do check the list of local events and activities as there are many such things to participate in if you are so inclined. Highly recommended! :)

Good morning Georges & Rumina. Just a note from down here to say we very much enjoyed our stay at Taste of Zanzibar. The house and all the accommodations were very comfortable. We enjoyed your tasteful selection of decor, pictures and other art pieces in the house. Thanks so much for the kitchen supplies and especially the fresh muffins, which we did not have to freeze. They didn't last that long! The view across the strait with the coast mountains in the background is world class, and the ever-present eagles were a special delight. It was nice getting to know you. There are three things I look for when renting a property; the hosts, the location, and the property. The hosts at Taste of Zanzibar treated us like honored guests, accommodating a last-minute change of plans very well, providing fantastic communication throughout the process of booking the property, and being there when questions needed to be answered. The location of the house is terrific. Right on the beach, lots of wildlife, beautiful trees, quiet neighbors–a perfect setting. A large public beach is within easy walking distance on the waterline. The house is close enough to the road to be handy, but far enough away that we never heard vehicular traffic while we were there. It also had quick access to the Inland Highway. The house is far enough away from town to feel rural, but close enough for a quick trip. It is an ideal location. The property is not for everyone, but suited us perfectly. If you are looking for a sparkling new home, this is not your place. It is an older, well-maintained property with lots of charm and ambiance. What it has is lots of rooms that makes it feel bigger than it looks from the outside. The small-ish rooms each have their own function and give the home a comfortable, intimate feeling. There were 5 of us staying there and one evening we had 6 guests over and we never once felt cramped. On the contrary, because of the layout in a few seconds you can go from a rocking good time in one room to a quiet time in another. The bedrooms were well-appointed and had nice views. The bathrooms as well, and the laundry facilities were very much appreciated. Would I return to Taste of Zanzibar? In a heartbeat! The sound of the sea, the bald eagles overhead, the relaxing hot tub, walking out on the beach at low tide . . . I’m ready to go back now!

Absolutely Stunning Views and Beautiful House

What a great experience. Everything was perfect. The attention to detail in the house reflects a lot of hard work and time by the home owners. You have everything you could possibly need. All you need to bring is your food. Its very quiet and relaxing. Beautiful views of the ocean (the ocean is your back yard), the mountains in the distance even more beautiful at this time of year with there snow covered peaks. The hot tub is unbelievable and an added bonus. The home owners George and Rumina, beautiful people. Very helpful, answered any questions and were there to answer any phone calls in times of need. Overall 10 out of 10. I would recommend The Taste of Zanzibar to anyone, families or couples or group of friends. Thanks again to George and Rumina. Both of you are such wonderful people,we need more people like yourselves.

Liebevoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus

Taste of Zansibar ist ein sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus in schöner Lage direkt am Strand (allerdings kein Sandstrand). Das Haus ist zwar schon etwas älter aber charmant. Vom Haus sind es circa 20 Minuten nach "Downtown" Campell River. Die Ausstattung ist hervorragend - es gibt sowohl Lebensmittel als auch Küchenutensilien und Körperpflegemittel in z.T. sehr guter Qualität. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und haben sich immer wieder sehr bemüht und gekümmert (als Willkommensgeschenk gab es sehr leckeren Kuchen, Obstkorb...) Besonders interessant - auch für Kinder - war das Museum of Campell River und der Discovery Pier. We simply loved Taste of Zansibar! It is a very cosy domicil and the landlord is very friendly. The house is situated very close to the beach and apprx. 20 min. from downtown Campell River. We would love to come again.
