Welcome to the Grand Opening celebration of Makana Mai Anela! We have great pride in wanting to "elevate" your Kauai vacation experience to enjoy our comfortable, spacious second-story home. Wake up to beautiful, wide panoramic views of Mt. Wai’ale’ale, valley mountains, and unique peaceful tropical settings from surround windows, front and rear screened lanais, and a spacious outdoor deck. Just as the Hawaiian chiefs chose the fertile interior of Kauai, so can you! Each of our guests have said our pictures "don't do it justice!".
Makana Mai Anela (“the gift of an angel”) is situated in the lush Wailua valley and is centrally located to most activities throughout Kauai. So many activities are nearby! – many hiking trails and some four-wheeling roads throughout Mt. Wai’ale’ale Crater (“Jurassic Park” location) and Sleeping Giant mountain, and kayaking along the beautiful Wailua River to Fern Grotto and Secret Falls. Explore Keahua Arboretum, sacred Hawaiian heiaus (ancient temples), Aadheenam Hindu Monastery, kid-friendly Lydgate Park & Playgrounds & Snorkeling Pools, public tennis courts and sports grounds (as well as our tropical grounds!), and scenic drives through the little-known interior of the Garden Island. And you can avoid traffic by inland routes when heading toward the many other outdoor splendors that Kauai offers throughout the island.
Drive onto our one-acre tropical grounds and park next to your door near grapefruit and avocado trees. Ascend to the relaxing rear lanai/family room and enter the comfortable living room, complete with cable HDTV, DVD player, and stereo with iPod dock. Hardwood floors, high-beamed ceilings, and wood abound throughout the home. From either of the bedrooms, or front lanai, enjoy the scenic mountain and valley views, or the songs of Hawaii’s birds in the adjacent trees. Cook in the full-featured (gas range, dishwasher)kitchen and enjoy your leisurely meals and TV viewing on the rear screened lanai. Sunbathe, read from our Hawaiian library, or dine and entertain on the large outdoor deck off of the rear lanai. Your privacy is assured as there are no occupants on the ground floor. Stroll the tropical grounds and enjoy yellow/pink grapefruit, 3 types of avocados, oranges, apple-bananas, strawberry guava, lychee, jambon, macadamia nuts, and coconuts - all from our own trees!
