If you're wanting a gorgeous beach and a very comfortable 2 bedroom unit with a great patio overlooking the sea in a quiet area without big hotels, Fitts Village and Little Reef are the perfect place. The large patio and verandah are perfect to sit and watch the cruise ships and catamarans go by, and the BBQ is great for cooking fresh fish from the nearby fish market. The apartment is clean, breezy and has the most wonderful shutter doors that open all the way across the apartment living room for a fabulous view of the sea. Security is excellent with wrought iron doors and gates to lock while still allowing the air to flow through. The location is great with bus stops just out front and a supermarket a few minutes walk away. The owner is a pleasure to deal with. You won't want to leave.Did you find this review helpful? The villa completely filled our expectations and was exactly as described on this site. Comfortable and clean. Kitchen well equipped and fun to use. Inside and outside seating areas very comfortable and accomodate shade, part sun or full sun. We stayed for two weeks and were happy to cook, eat, drink, swim and play right there with only a few short excursions away from the villa. The beach right out front offers great swimming and fantastic snorkeling at around 4 or 5 acres of reefs. The house even had some spare gear. Best to bring your own including a dive flag or bouy to keep you visible to the boaters. We read the guest journal and discovered some fun activities including the Mount Gay rum tour and a funky Sunday farmers market. That journal has lots of great info about what to do, and where to go. Locals and visitors are so nice and friendly. One that really stood out is that there is almost no litter! Beaches, streets, sidewalks are very clean. All in all it is one of our favorite places to visit. Bill Bivona and Debbir PaigeOwner response: Thank you for your comments! I am really glad you had a lovely time in Barbados and am always thrilled when our guests enjoy the special aura of Little Reef. It has been in our family many years and to have guests who enjoy it as much as we all did growing up, is a special buzz. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We have recently returned from our third visit to Little Reef in three years. We have never returned to the same place three times before, and there is always a little doubt as to whether it will live up to your past memories. However, you need have no such fear at Little Reef. The Apartment (it feels much more like a house than an apartment) has one of the finest aspects on the west coast without the need to re-mortgage your home to get there. A very special place with steps straight onto the beach, and an aspect over the Caribbean to die for. I never tire of watching the beach and sea from the verandah. Our daughter and her boyfriend joined us for our last week, and the apartment felt easily big enough for four adults, mainly because the outside space of this property is amazing, and almost all of your time is spent here. Each bedroom having it's own bathroom is also a big plus. The owner, house keeper, and the next door neighbours who help maintain the property are all lovely, and are a delight to deal with. We arrived on Christmas Eve after the shops had closed, and they all went to so much trouble to help us get food delivered before our arrival. Fitts Village holds a certain charm for us, in that there are no hotels, and therefore no crowds, just a mix of locals and multi million dollar villas for rent, giving a very eclectic mix of people to chat to as you have your morning walk along the deserted beach... However, when you feel the need to expand your horizons (and you may not want to once you have seen Fitts beach) Holetown with it's many restaurants, bars, and the best cinema we've ever visited, are all a ten minutes drive or bus ride away. If you are looking for a stunning, quiet location on the West coast that won't break the bank, look no further....You've found it.Owner response: What a lovely review and I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope you will come back to us soon...we regard you as "family"! I would like to say you are perfect guests! Sally

Our stay at Little Reef was fabulous in many respects. First of all we felt at home when we opened the door the first time. Thanks to Shirley we found toast, butter and soft drinks in the fridge what really helped us to becalm the kids after the long flight. The flat itself was perfect for us. As other visitors of Little Reef already wrote - the sunsets on the balcony were beautiful. The tuquoise sea touched the stairs that go down fom the patio depending on the tides, the neighbourhood is calm, the next supermarket near, Grantley and his wife - one of our neighbours friendly and helpful. We rented a car (there is parking space right in front of the door) and discovered some of the Barbados treasures. Thank You for the good time we had !Owner response: Thank you for your lovely words. We are not professional realtors and Shirley, Grantley the night watchman and myself take enormous delight in the pleasure of our guests. We try to keep prices realistic and hope that the simple beauty and a warm welcome out do the little defects. Thank you all for giving us another warm glow. Sally, Shirley and Grantley

Little Reef was amazing - gorgeous beachfront location with great swimming, well secured with a night watchman and exceptionally clean. It's right on the bus route so very easy to take the bus for 5 minutes to Paynes Bay Fish Market (where you can buy freshly caught fish) and then cook it on the BBQ and watch the boats go by. The bedrooms are large with one having a beautiful beachfront view. The patio and verandah offer unobstructed views of the beautiful beach. There is excellent wifi which can be used inside and also outside on the patio and verandah. Jordans supermarket is a 5 minute walk away, and the Sunset Crest SuperCenter & duty free mall in Holetown is a 10 minute bus ride. The beach is quiet and had only a handful of people at a time. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, as was the housekeeper and the night watchman. We found Fitts Village to be a quiet paradise without big resorts and nightlife. I highly recommend this property for those looking for a comfortable, relaxing place in an outstanding beachfront location. We will definitely return.Owner response: Cindy it was a pleasure having you at Little Reef! The most important thing for us is knowing that our guests enjoy the special qualities of the apartment. Thank you for your review and we look forward to your return next year when you will be welcomed back with pleasure. Sally

We have just returned from our second holiday at Little Reef, and already I am missing the sound of the waves lapping against the garden walls, the amazing views of the almost deserted beach, having breakfast on the terrace watching flying fish leap, and dipping in and out of the Caribbean at will, and of course the lovely Bajan people. Little Reef is very special. It has all the owner describes and more, An amazing apartment with a charm all of it's own, and we love it. I would highly reccommend to beach lovers, families with small children, couples looking for peace and quiet but with lots of amenities within easy reach. Many thanks Sally for sharing Little Reef with us again, it was bliss.Owner response: Thank you both you are lovely guests and I am delighted you are returning later in the year. I will be sure to do my best to have Little Reef even more welcoming for you and your family.

We had a wonderful holiday at Little Reef - we were looking for rest and relaxation and we certainly got it. The location couldn't have been better right on the beach. We had our meals on the balcony overlooking the sea, it was especially good in the evening as the sun sets were wonderful. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. It is very close to all one would require - supermarkets, shops and restaurants. We hired a car which meant we could see more of the island, but there is a very good bus service. If you like cricket a visit to Kensington Oval is a must so much history of West Indian cricket. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment as a perfect holiday location, we are hoping to visit againRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We would really highly recommend staying at Little Reef.It is a lovely apartment right on the beach. The sunsets are the best we have seen in the world! We stayed there with our two children for two weeks. We spent alot of time on the beach, swimming in the sea, visiting Il Tempo for a nightcap, jetskiing from the beach. You do not need to hire a car as there are plenty of restaurants nearby and an excellent supermarket opposite Fitts Village Esplanade. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable and the owner exceedingly helpful and prompt to respond to queries. We will definitely return to Little Reef - all the family loved it.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

We stayed at Little Reef in January, and I can only echo everything that has been said before, it is fantastic! We are seasoned house renters, much prefaring the freedom and peace and quiet a house or apartment brings over the frentic pace of large hotels. Little Reef did not dissapoint, it's location and aspect are incredible. The apartment is very well equiped and spotlessly clean, the view from the living room once the folding doors are open out onto the Caribbean is stunning, and on a few nights it was enough to keep us in and cook fresh fish from Paynes Bay fish market, which we don't usually do, we just couldn't drag ourselves away. Fitts village is quite under developed, there are no hotels there, which means the beach feels like it's your own, I don't think we ever saw more than eight people on it at any one time. There is however a supermarket for all your shopping needs. The bus stop to Holeown (10 minutes away) is 50 yards from the property, and buses are very cheap and very frequent, we used them all the time even late at night and had no problems at all. We did intend to rent a car but Barbados is so easy to get around you don't really need one. The owner, and the local lady who looks after the property were both excellent to deal with, nothing was too much trouble. We hope to return next year, and would highly reccommend Little ReefRecommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have returned to Little Reef. This time we were able to spend Christmas and News Year here and it was great. Once again, the sunsets are the best I have seen and they seem to be even more beautiful this time than in February. Everything you could need is at Little Reef. Every time we come, we bring a little more to keep there because we know we're coming back. Shirley is wonderful-maybe next time we'll get her to cook dinner for us one night. The people of Barbados are the friendliest you will encounter. We have become good friends with a few of the locals so much that they have come for dinner at Little Reef. We started a guest book for Little Reef's guests in the apartment so they can have some insight and suggestion, especially if you've never been to Barbados before. IL Tempio, Italian Restaurant, is a nice walk on the beach and great food and happy hour 4-6 every day. Cant pass up a rum punch for $3.00 US. This time we stayed for 2 weeks and I tell you, I could not go back to one week there again. You can be as active as you want (there are so many beaches, tours, fishing, sightseeing, shopping etc.) or as relaxed as you want. This time we zip lined and that was alot of fun. Hopefully some day we would love to buy a small place to retire in but for now and until then it will be only LIttle Reef. Everything you could need/want is within walking distance or a short bus ride. I'm missing the fresh fish already.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at 'Little Reef'. We found the apartment very clean and comfortable with everything we needed as described in the details. The location is great and you get to step down a few steps from the patio on to gorgeous soft sand and into a clear blue sea! The pictures are very accurate and the beach is clean and peaceful with the odd person strolling by, it feels a bit like having a gorgeous beach all to yourself! We spent our mornings having breakfast on the patio mesmerised by the beauty of the sea and watching the various pretty birds in the trees. There is a supermarket a short walk away with a good range of produce and a bus stop nearby. Wendy's is a nice local bar for 'strawberry daiquiri's', beer and Bajan food. You also have the higher end restaurant's 'Daphne's' and Il Tempio [Italian] a 5 minute drive away. We spent our days swimming in the gorgeous sea and relaxing on the beach, getting buses all over the island to visit different places of interest and chatting with lots of friendly helpful local people. We would love to stay at 'Little Reef' again and we thoroughly recommend it. The owner's are a pleasure to deal with, and Mrs Stalker was so kind and easy to speak to when we got caught up with delay's due to heavy snow closing the U.K. airport's. The lady who looks after the apartment called 'Shirley' is lovely too and is on hand in Barbados if you have any queries. We stayed for 2 weeks, my husband and I and our 6 year old son. There is no TV at the apartment which we did not mind as we took a portable dvd player and dvd's with us and plenty of books. We look forward to returning again soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Right on the beach! You just open up the folding doors and the sea comes right up to the veranda. We had a lovely relaxing vacation enjoying the sounds and sights of the sea right outside our door. Little Reef has just what we needed for a relaxing vacation and in a very convenient spot not too far from town or the Northern Coast. Sally Stalker is extremely helpful with any questions or concerns. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. I would highly recommend "Little Reef" to anyone looking for a lovely, hassle free island vacation. We had the best time at Little Reefe. It was perfect for two couples. We spent almost all of our time on the patio watching the sunrise to sunset. The kitchen was well equipped with evrything you need. We ate dinner most nights because we didnt want to leave the patio and miss the sunset. Sally is the best. She answered all my questions promptly and gave guidance. Never being to Barbados before, we had lots of questions. This was by far, in our opinion, the best apartment on the stretch of beach. The locals are friendly and willing to help. There is a supermarket almost right across the street that has whatever you probably need. If you need more, there is a bigger supermarket 10 minutes up the road in Holetown. We took the public transportation just about everywhere and it was fun and cheap. We are already looking for flights to go back and we will not stay anywhere else but Little Reefe. Enjoy...Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at Little Reefe. We didnt leave from the patio very much. It was beautiful-watching the sunrise and sunset. The kitchen is well equipped. It was perfect for two couples. Then again, we spent most of the time outdoors not indoors. We ate dinner in most nights watching the sunset. Sally is very, very accomodating. She answered all my questions (and we had many). We are already looking for flights back to Barbados and we will be returning to Little Reefe without a doubt. We loved everything about Little Reefe and Barbdos.
