'Aerie' is the best value on the Isle of Palms following extensive renovation during the winter of 2011. Great for family reunions, multi-family gatherings, and 'Big Chill' events, look no further for your classic beach house- heart pine floors, bead board with bright white wainscoting, and decorated to celebrate your island vacation.
Two porches have panoramic ocean vistas across the street- the top porch having private access from the two second floor master suites. Go to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and the 24/7 sea breeze. Located on a 'sleepy' beach road nicknamed 'millionaire's row', Aerie sits on the quiet, convenient end of the island- you'll see more bikes than autos and enjoy easier access to Sullivan's Island, Mount Pleasant, Charleston, the plantations, and other attractions. Aerie is three blocks from the IOP promenade with shopping, restaurants, ice cream, and the famous Windjammer Club. There is a deep-water marina on the island and tennis courts at the island recreation center. Six excellent, public-access golf courses are within a twenty minute drive to include the world-class Wild Dunes courses. Beach access is just 25 yards away.
After two decades of renting beach houses, we have labored to provide Aerie with all that we valued in those houses along with all that we wish we had! The open kitchen/dining/living room floor plan creates flow and space for all. The six foot round dining table for 12, custom-made and painted, guarantees that you will spend hours around it visiting with family and friends alike. The large kitchen has seating for nine at two spacious islands. It is fully stocked with utensils and dish ware for 20 and boasts premiere appliances with an under-counter ice-maker and extra full-sized refrigerator located in the laundry room. The outside grounds and garage feature a heated, private pool with carved tikis standing watch, horse shoe pits, outdoor hot shower, ping-pong, gas grille, and a fenced back yard.
Sleep with the cyprus-wood dolphin sculpture standing guard in the newly-created 'Dolphin Suite' and revel in the rain shower cascading over you in its spacious bath suite. There are two other master bedroom suites with custom baths and an additional queen bedroom with detached bath. The 'Dormitory' and the new, nautically styled 'Bunk Room', with its 42 inch flat screen TV and extra HMDI cable supplied for game sets, are just two of the many nooks and crannies for kids, and grown-ups alike, to hide-out. All-cotton linens, towels, and housecleaning are included. Hair dryers are provided in the master bathrooms.
Stereo sound wafts throughout the house and all three porches with separate area volume controls for piped-in beach music. 42' flat screen TVs with surround sound are in the living room, TV room, and the Dolphin Suite. There is Netflix capability in the den, Dolphin Suite, second upper master bedroom, Bunk Room, and living room. High definition TVs reside in the Dolphin Suite, living room, TV room, and Bunk Room..
Aerie was meticulously renovated in 2011 by visionary builder, Pat Kelly, of Kelly Builders- Carolina. Pat has brought to Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms such beautiful homes as Bea's Nest, L'Escale, and Dancehall.
Dedication to 'green' building options include a metal roof with 100% sprayed foam insulation, energy-efficient, impact-resistant windows, energy-efficient, new heating and air conditioning systems, on-demand hot water heaters, and dedication to exterior and interior LED lighting technology. Add to the above, a complete 21st century audio/visual upgrade with digital cable, WIFI, and and high definition capability. Include in the behind the scenes work, major structural upgrades to include restructured and rebuilt top and bottom porches.
Note: In mutual respect for the limited natural resources of our planet, we thank you for supporting our thermostat limits of 74 degrees cooling and heating.

To say that our stay at Aerie was outstanding would be an understatement! Our group of women (16 former college classmates from the 70's!) could not have had a more enjoyable time or better housing, not to mention great communication with owners and property manager. Location great. Kitchen great. Bedrooms and bathrooms great. Two of the women prepared a gourmet feast for all in the amazing kitchen. House is clean, open and roomy so even with 16 of us we weren't walking all over each other. I have already had requests for information on the house from some of the attendees as they hope to share it again with others. I highly recommend this property and thank the owners so much for sharing their beautiful place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We have just returned from a fabulous vacation in this beautiful home. This was our 2nd year to have our family of 15 gather at 715 Ocean..IOP. We have vacationed at IOP for 15 consecutive years and this house is perfect for our family in every way. Lots of beds, huge kitchen with all the needed equipment, wonderful relaxing pool area, warm breezes from porch swing and beautiful beach. The owners have thought of every detail and take a very personal interest in their guests. We have already chosen our week to return in 2013.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The house is impeccable; decorated in a sophisticated beach decor. If anything, the online pictures do not do the house justice. The house was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen is very well equipped including adequate utensils for the gas grill. The afternoon shade around the pool area is great after a day on the beach. The bedrooms are generously sized and the linen is nice. The mattresses are all comfortable for adults with the exception of the bunk room It appears that the bunk room mattresses are designed for children. If you plan to have adults sleep in the bunk room, consider inquiring about the current status of the mattresses. The rental process was seamless. I strongly recommend this house.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented "Aerie" in March as a treat for our family to celebrate a milestone anniversary together someplace warmer than Wisconsin. The location seemed ideal, the specifications assured us that Aerie would accommodate our group and the pictures looked pretty nice. What the listing failed to communicate was just how perfect it would be. The house has enough different nooks for 10 adults to find a special space for themselves, while the open areas are scaled just right for togetherness. The kitchen was a favorite gathering place as we took turns preparing dinner or cleaning up. A perfectly-placed empty space across the street allows ocean views and sounds to reach the house. Taking them in from the top porch was one of my favorite memories. That porch is also a great place to drift off to sleep or lazily chat. By the end of our first day, coming back to the Aerie felt like "coming home." I think many of us left wishing it was truly our home. Thank you for sharing it with us!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Aerie could not have been more perfect for a family vacation. Charming indoors and out, the house is decorated imaginatively and comfortably for a beach house. The kitchen has all new appliances and is well-stocked for large groups. The bedrooms have large, flat-screen TVs. large closets, and softer sheets than even a luxury hotel. The porches on the first and second stories, the latter off the two king-sized master bedrooms, offer spectacular views of the ocean and are perfect for relaxing or reading a book. The house also has a lovely pool, a ping-pong table, and a horseshoes area, and it's stocked with books and board games. The owners have thought of everything! We also loved the colorful dining area, which sits 12 around a large round table--great for conversation with the whole family. Ideal for multi-generation family vacations or getaways with friends, Aerie is a wonderful vacation house in a great area! I will recommend it to everyone I know.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband, multiple friends and their kids and grand kids have stayed here before and now after this beautiful and accommodating home was renovated early this year. We loved it before; we're in awe after. The gathering areas are many and spacious. The bedrooms are private and quiet and soothing--course, I've never slept in the bunk house. :-) It lacks for nothing and we have high standards from many decades of beach vacationing. We will certainly return at the earliest opportunity. Worth every penny and easy to share with other families.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I spent 5 days in March, just after the major renovation was completed. IOP and this property have always been special but WOW...the new renovation just knocked my socks off. The house is now a real deal. It can handle 3 couples with kids with ease. The new porches are great, the expanded BR suites are like being at the Ritz and the kitchen upgrades are first class. Can't wait until we can come back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at your beautiful vacation home several times before your latest renovations. We enjoyed our stay each and every time. Our last stay was just after your recent renovations and truly your home is now a palace by the sea. Your home is convenient to the ocean, less than a 5 minute walk, and has nice ocean views and breezes. It is close to shopping, golf and restaurants. The renovated master bedrooms with access to a private deck, the kitchen and bath upgrades and the new colorful decor make your home an even better value for family vacations, reunions, and groups. Your home provided the space, bedrooms and amenities we needed at a very reasonable price. Our entire group enjoyed a very relaxing visit and will return again in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house was perfect for our family vacation - directly across the street from the ocean (less than 2 minute walk), but still with ocean views. The house had great amenities, including a fantastic kitchen and 3 master bedrooms. The "dormitory" worked well for the kids, and the pool was great. 5 minute walk to restaurants, ice cream, and souvenir shops. Short drive (20 minutes) to downtown Charleston and plenty of shopping within a 5 minute drive. We researched hundreds of beach houses in the Charleston area, and feel this is the best value for the location. We hope to go back soon! If you are looking for an adventure, book a trip with Barrier Island Eco Tours; for the best hot dog in the world, take a short trip to Jack's Cosmic Dogs, and if you are looking for a nice dinner out (with local flavor), try Poogan's Porch in downtown Charleston.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Great kitchen; lots of storage. The beach is awesome for the little ones and they thoroughly enjoyed every moment!
