Me and my wife enjoyed the Guest Quarters on Capitol Hill very much. It was clean and very livable, and its location was within walking distances to most things people wanting to visit DC want to enjoy while being there. We really didnt have any complaints & would probably stay there again if we went back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This was our second time to stay at Guest Quarters on Capitol Hill, and we were not disappointed. Proximity to Union Station is great because of the subway to/from Reagan international, but also because we've been able to rent cars and bikes there. I appreciated the hairdryer, coffee maker, alarm clocks and other items as listed. We also discovered "Streamline" on the web; this helps a person find restaurants that will deliver (Samphan--tasty Thai!). The only thing I might want to change is room darkening curtains on the front windows. The sheers there are nice for privacy and for letting light in during the day, but it's a little too light in the night. The owner's name is is my phone's contact list and I look forward to returning!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

I travel frequently to DC on business. This is a favorite place to stay. So convenient to everything, whether by foot or by Metro. So comfortable! Ellen provides hotel quality towels and the kitchen is furnished just like home! Come and go as you please. Plenty of privacy, but owner is just upstairs for questions or recommendations. I look forward to returning again and again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Easy distance from Union Station, perfect layout for a couple, but also for having a few people in for a meal or cocktail hour. It was just as pictured and the Hirzys were a delight to work with. Because of the proximity to Union Station it was a breeze to rent a car for the day. Many tourist resources (and fun magazines!) on hand. Great bagel shop on Massachusets, and a handy markey/liquor store within 3 blocks (Adam's Market). For a bigger shopping trip, Harris Teeter is fairly nearby. We used the ironing board and iron, might be nice if there were a hairdryer available (perha)ps there is, but I missed it. We would definitely recommend the Guest quarters on Capitol Hill and return ourselves!.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was a great place for us. It was well located to the Union station metro stop which we used daily. At the end of our stay we took amtrak to nyc and were able to board at the same Union station. The apt. was very comfortable and met all our needs. We appreciated the washer, dryer, and iron. I would like to have had a map showing the location of the Eastern Market, a good bakery, liquor store. We did find all of the above but fumbled a bit at the beginning. Suggest instructions for getting the metro smart pass be posted in the apartment. Also would have liked to have the rules regarding recycling posted and a container for the kitchen so we could have done a better job of that. We would stay here again in a minute. Very nice stay. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

The apartment is very convenient, both location-wise as well as all the nice things that they have in the apartment itself, like all the things in the kitchen, and all the board games. The size is also maybe even a bit bigger than I expected. The bed is on a frame that is bigger than the mattress, though, and my husband and I kept running into that. The first time, my husband hurt himself enough to leave a mark for days afterwards. It seems like a basic and simple enough thing that that really ought to be fixed. The woman who runs the place seems quite nice. The internet was a bit wonky, although maybe they would have fixed it if we had told them about it during the couple days that it was down. When it worked, it worked well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband, teenage daughter and I enjoyed staying in this wonderfully located "english garden" apartment for one week. The location can not be beat for its proximity to the metro, small neighborhood market and various restaurants. The ability to spread out (versus a hotel room) coupled with the full kitchen, washer & dryer, restaurant menus for takeout, etc. made for an easy stay. Our only complaint was that while the apartment itself was clean, we found the fingerprint smudges on every door, light switch and various walls a bit "yucky". This is such a minor maintenance item within a home! A full length or additional, larger sized mirror in another area of the apartment would be a nice addition, as I am certain those traveling with more than one female have found it difficult to get ready for the day.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My mom, son, and I recently stayed at the Guest Quarters on Capitol Hill. Overall, we had a great stay and a wonderful experience. The apartment itself is very cute and homey. The owner was very nice, accommodating, and helpful. It's located in a great neighborhood, right near a market, park, and library, so it's perfect for traveling with a toddler, as we were. We loved having access to a full kitchen. The games, books, and toys were a nice edition. My only complaints is that there isn't a door separating the bedroom, so once the baby went to sleep, we had to be quiet. Also, there was no full length mirror, which made it difficult to get ready in the morning. But despite this, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.
