Our two-story, custom-built house was designed with easy living in mind, and every feature has been carefully considered to make your stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible.
Casa Chantaco’s open floor plan embraces the beach lifestyle in Costa Rica, where outdoor living space is very important. Generous windows and hand-made teak French doors can be opened in every room, allowing beach breezes to circulate through the house. The huge terrace offers a variety of comfortable areas for everyone to hang out and relax. The covered outdoor dining area is great for morning coffee or evening entertainment. All the bedrooms are air conditioned to provide a comfortable sleeping environment. Plenty of hot water is available throughout the house for showers and the kitchen.
The upstairs level features a expansive terrace with views of the entire coast line, an ocean view master bedroom with en-suite master bath, and a kid's bunk room that can sleep up to five kids, or three to four adults comfortably, a fully equipped kitchen with ocean views, an outdoor dining room where you can check out the surf over morning coffee, and a comfortable, breezy living room.
Downstairs are two independent, completely private bedrooms, each with a king size bed, a single bed, and en-suite bathroom. These rooms have their own private terraces with ocean views, and can be occupied separately from the upstairs. This is the perfect house for a multiple family/friend vacation arrangement.
In addition to the famous waves of Playa Negra, our location also offers gentler beaches, perfect for kids, swimming and surf lessons. It's a quick walk to Hotel Playa Negra (300 meters away), where you can enjoy drinks and meals beachside. Guanacaste is known for awesome surf and there are plenty of great day trips to nearby surf spots. Wonderful restaurants can be found in the nearby villages of Los Pargos and Tamerindo. Or you can stay put and cook your own meals, or have meals brought in by local catering services. Maid services provided for an extra fee. This house is designed to make your vacation easy, fun and memorable. Playa Negra is kid and family friendly, with lots of fun activities for non-surfers.

Why the Owner Chose Playa Negra
We bought our property here in the mid-90's and finally built our home in 2005. After traveling around Costa Rica and Central America, we chose Playa Negra for surfing, and easy accessibility, with the international airport in Liberia only 90 minutes away. We also chose Playa Negra because it is low key and laid back. What's missing here are crowds, big hotel resorts, and noise. Everyone who stays at Casa Chantaco loves the comfort, the quiet and the ability to really get away from it all.

I have stayed twice at Casa Chantaco and would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking an adrenalin charged surf trip when the season peaks, or a great all around Costa Rican beach experience with combined surfing and sightseeing nearby any time of year. With the much improved local roads the location has great access to many nearby towns and surf breaks/beaches, or you can stay at Playa Negra as the spacious house is right on the beach, has everything you need. You will not be dissapointed!!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
