We absolutely loved everything! The house is in a perfect location and we felt like we were at home within minutes of being there. Access to beach and the Village were very convenient and our three little girls had the time of their lives.....better than Disney they said :) Thank you so much for sharing your beach house with us.....it was wonderful.

This was our family's first visit to Siesta Key and we truly fell in love with this area. We stayed at the Casa de Mariposa and it is a beautiful townhouse with beautiful decor and with all the amenities that you could think of. The beach was right across the street with sand as white as snow and soft as flour. The Village was within walking distance where there are restaurants, shopping, ice cream shop, etc. Our family enjoyed gathering at the pool area and swimming in the heated pool. We also liked the convenience of grilling out on the gas grill for our lunch or evening meal and never getting out of our bathing suits. Now that vacationing! I would highly recommend this property to someone that is looking for a family vacation spot.

We stayed at Casa de Mariposa for a week, and although we did enjoy our stay I do have a couple complaints. First, I think for the amount of money we payed for our one week stay...there should be some newer white linens provided. The towels and washcloths were dingy and old looking as were the bed sheets. It seems like there should be a few more sets available for each room. The shower head in the master bath was not working at full pressure and the shower handle fell off one of the sliding glass doors upon closing on the first day. Second, we had a lovely WATCHDOG of a neighbor across the street from Mariposa that acted as some sort of street warden!! She actually sat inside her little house and watched our every move!!! She called the police 2 times on us for having a car parked a few inches over the side walk...and called the owner numerous times for other minor things. And whenever she ran into us outside she would actually yell at us from across the street! I am sure we are not the first people to experience her while staying at this house. It was only during the last 2-3 days of our stay, however we found it to be very irritating and felt like the neighbor was stalking us!! We would not stay at this particular house again due to that fact! We have stayed at other houses in Siesta Keys in previous years and have never encountered problems like this. I will say that the owner Bambi was very pleasant to talk to and handled any complaints in a timely manner. But the issue with the neighbor was just very annoying!

Owner response:Thank you for your candid review. This review should actually be for #170592(back/2nd unit-not #170576). We appreciate all your comments and understand your concerns. We request, prefer and suggest in writing that tenants contact us during their stay so we can address any immediate concerns. Linens/towels: we have fresh, additional ones in all closets and in our private locked storage below & replenish per tenant request. Unfortunately, we were not able to fix this during your stay as this had not been brought to our attention. We provide both new towels as well as towels that tenants can use for their tanning products which include bleach & color that frequently stain towels-so we need to have additional supplies on hand. Each unit is also equipped with a washer/dryer for tenant use. Shower head pressure: Tenants had contacted us about the water pressure and one of their guests had inadvertently turned off the water pressure valve for the entire house. Tenants were advised how to adjust,as this valve is right next to the hose for washing off feet. Nonetheless, we also will be changing the shower head to ensure maximum pressure which we do frequently along with filter changes. Again, we appreciate your feedback but this is the first we were notified , after the departure. We truly apologize for any inconvenience. The majority of the review is about the "WATCHDOG" neighbor which is out of our control, unfortunately. Siesta Key is a very quaint village with long-term residences within the residential/rental community. This particular neighbor witnessed a pedestrian being killed because they had to walk around a car that was parked on the sidewalk, so she is extremely concerned about cars violating the law. Tenants are notified in writing about police monitoring cars on the sidewalks, as well as Siesta Key police enforcing parking fines. The unit's driveway has enough space for 6 cars(including 2 in the garage) which is more than adequate for the number of guests that should be occupying each unit. We request a maximum of 4 cars and guests should be utilizing local and/or public parking areas. I did contact the tenants to politely inform them so they would avoid a parking fine. It is rather disturbing that you felt stalked and we will be sharing your feedback with this neighbor and local authorities as well.Although, I understand her concerns were for the safety of all visitors on the key, apparently she crossed the line and we apologize. Thank you.

Plenty of extras for renters usage, bikes, beach chairs, beach towels etc. Nicely appointed. Probably a few more steps (3 levels) than most seniors would appreciate (4 seniors in our group) but otherwise very nice place. Would recommend

My six friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Mariposa. We were enchanted by it all: -location: proximity to Siesta Key town, Sarasota and, of course, the beach -fantastic decor and attention to detail throughout the home -pool and deck were perfect for relaxing and brunces -ease of booking, arriving and departing instructions -rapid and effective communication with the owner I would not hesitate to recommend this property 110%. Review #2094344 "Couldn't have been better!!!" We planned our wedding around the Casa and it was a spectacular event! We took both units - had 2 catered events for family, and multiple informal dinners for the same group. The units were spotless, well equipped and perfectly maintained (they even provided fans to help cool the area by the pool for the party!). When the weather didn't cooperate, we moved the "barbeque" inside to the very spacious living room/kitchen area without a problem! And Bambi is a consumate party planner - she has suggestions/recommendations for everything and anything you would ever need! Don't be afraid to ask her for any advice! We loved every second of our wedding and honeymoon "with the kids". Wouldn't have done it anywhere else, and couldn't have done it without Bambi!! Loved that there were many separate spaces; when you have lots of people (or kids!) it's hard to find alone time. The Casa has so many balconies; made it easy to escape for a few minutes of peace and quiet without leaving the house! The extended family had so much fun that we want to make it an annual event. Only problem - everyone wants to stay at the Casa!!

Girlfriends 40th Vacation

Our stay at Casa de Mariposa was amazing. This was a special vaction for 8 friends from high school celebrating our 40th Birthdays together. The house is so gorgeous yet feels really warm. We rented the larger unit which was worth it because of the large deck we were all able to sit on it and enjoy the view in the A.M and P.M.(it faces the ocean) A big thing for us is that we didn't want to have to drive any where because we planned on have some adult drinks. So everything was either in walking, biking or a wonderful servie that runs on tips only called Johny's free beach rides. It all worked out perfect. The selection of bikes were great and we loved the double bike a lot. We were able to purchase food and have a fun cook out by the pool one night and the beach is right across the street down the path ( 2 min. walk) There are so many great places to eat out and fun night life (Gilligan's) I would highly recommend this place. It is the perfect location and is well taken care of. Thank you Bambie for sharing your special home with us. You gave us happy memories we will never forget!!!

We had spent weeks looking for the right property to satisfy the needs of our large family for a family reunion. We wanted a property that was on/near the beach, close to shopping and dining - not a remote location, recreational activities available, and adequate sleeping arrangements. According to the rental description, Casa de Mariposa seemed the ideal selection; and when we arrived at the property, our expectations were exceeded! The home was exceptional in every way! We selected the front unit because of the extra balcony which proved to be one of the best features of the property. Our family enjoyed this breezy space with a view of the water for dining, card playing and puzzles. Cooking for the five sons and wives was a joy in a well-stocked kitchen that overlooked the living room. Having bicycles, beach chairs, sports equipment was also a real plus! The beautifully decorated rooms and baths made the weekend even more enjoyable. Casa de Mariposa truly was a HOME away from home!

My husband and I chose beautiful Siesta Key Beach as the site for our wedding. For convenience, we decided to seek lodging nearby. In our search, we were fortunate enough to happen upon Casa de Mariposa. 10/10/10 was the date of our wedding, but this is also the rating I would give this home! 10's all around! The home was absolutely beautiful! It was very comfortable and inviting, as if it were a home our family owned. It has every ammenity you could ask for, from elevators to little red wagons, from coolers to 2-seater bicycles, from canopies to doggie crates, from margarita machines to wine refrigerators. Even the neighbors were nice! Parking can be a challenge near the beach, but the neighbors offered us parking at their houses! Our guests LOVED the place and kept complimenting as if it were ours! Casa de Mariposa was such an integral part of our wedding, that it shall remain in our hearts forever! Sometimes I imagine myself looking out of the port hole in the master bedroom again and immediately feel at peace. I would..scratch that..WILL definitely stay there again in the future and would whole-heartedly recommend it to others! Thank you Bambi, for opening your home to us! It was much more than just a place to stay, it was an experience not soon to be forgotten! :o}

Ah...where to start? The characters allowed on this "little box" can cover everything that I would like to express. It was an excellent vacation from beginning to end. Casa de Mariposa...an unforgettable place, it has every material thing that you could possibly need plus a sense of peace and relaxation that is difficult to describe. We were 7 adults and 1 little one, Casa was special for all. Siesta Key itself...well... that is the center of the universe. Thank you Bambi for having us. I really hope to visit Casa in the near future again and also to meet you someday.

Perfect Beach Rental

If you are going to Siesta Key, this is the only place to stay. They have the place fully loaded with toys, bikes, pool stuff, beach chairs, kitchen needs, beach towels, etc. There is literally nothing missing from this place. All the rooms are very nicely furnished and have flat screens TV's. The pool deck has tons of room and is fully furnished as well. We had 10 adults and 6 kids and it was no problem at all. Our group will be going back next year for sure.

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Siesta Key where we stayed at Casa de Mariposa (back unit). Everything was as described, and the little extras at the house - baby stroller, toys, coolers, chairs, etc. - just made our stay that much more enjoyable and relaxing. We would recommend Casa to anyone (friend or relative) as it is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation or a group of friends. The location could not be better. We were concerned that we would be on the main public beach, which can be very crowded, but our accessway to the beach was to a nice private area that was quiet and really beautiful! Perfect location, perfect house - perfect vacation! We will be back - Thank you Bambi!

Loved the location and amenities of the home! It was clean and very well maintained. Customer service and response by the maintenance personnel was exceptional. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends. If I had one very small "complaint" it is that the pool could have been larger and the elevator was not in working condition. We were very fortunate that we did not have to share the pool because when we weren't in the Gulf of Mexico, we were in the pool!

The easy stroll to the beach, then home to get ready, to walking to supper was very enjoyable because the house was so centrally located to everything. During the week I explored other areas of the coast line and decided that by far I loved right where I was to anything else I had seen. There are not enough words to truly express how thankful I am that I found you, and that your home became apart of my daughters beautiful wedding & honeymoon. Matt, Brian,Mr. Frank and Ms. Gisleine where so helpful during the week with anything and made our stay and transition pleasurable and easy. You have a wonderful staff and I commend you for them. The best experience ever!!! My husband and I gathered our family and close friends at Casa mariposa to celebrate our 10yr anniversary. Casa Mariposa provides everything!!! Very luxurious, comfortable, great aminities which includes awesome pool, bicycles,and loved the elevator. Bambi.. We had a FABULOUS time. Your home, I should say palace, was extraordinarily comfortable, obviously well situated to both the beach and town, and best of all was "loaded" with all the goodies a family could ask for. My 18 month old granddaughter just adored the red flyer..I must have pulled her up and down the beach a hundred miles! My thirty year old and his new bride cruised around on the double bicycle. Lorri and I just relaxed in the sand chairs. The appliances in the home were great; everyone made their own breakfasts without having to run out. The family room was wonderful, allowing us to keep an eye on the little one, while keeping ourselves relaxed. Frank was the best.. I called him a number of times with small requests and questions, and he was extremely helpful...a very proud Floridian, ex New Yorker. He turned off the AC for us when it got too chilly, etc. We were raving about what a good time we had. Please read Lorri's poem in the guest book. We think you have created a most special place in honor of your daughter, and we were glad to be part of it for even four days. I'm looking forward to returning with more of my family soon. Casa de Mariposa is absolutely beautiful! I could not believe how loaded it was with everything you can imagine!! The garage had anything you would need to make your vacation complete! The view is gorgeous being steps from the beach. You do not need to drive because shops and great food are just blocks away! We will definitely stay again!!

My family and I began 2010 with a weeklong relaxing vacation at Casa de Mariposa and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.(All 9 0f us) I only wish we could have stayed longer. The home was beautiful and everything you could want or need was available. The views of the beach and the sunsets were my favorite part. My husband, three children, son-in-law, and grandson enjoyed a wonderful week at Casa de Mariposa in February. We felt right at home in your beautiful house and felt extra welcomed by all of your lovely family pictures and beautiful decorations. It was our first family vacation since our daughter got married, and it couldn't have been more perfect. We appreciate the family friendliness of the accomodations, in particular the baby/toddler amenities, the bikes, plus all the many other conveniences. Because of the location and the feeling of being "at home" in your house, the men have agreed to leave their golf clubs at home on our next visit! Casa de Mariposa was awesome!! The house was great, so much room! Awesome set-up, great tv's, & great location. right across the street from the beach & right down the street from the bars! Frank was great, so nice. All & all we had a great time & loved the house. we fully plan on coming back!

We celebrated our wedding at Casa de Mariposa!!!...we rented the whole house for my whole family to stay together. We had a Luau BBQ Party on Friday, the wedding on Saturday and a brunch on Sunday!!!...the house was perfect for it!!!...we got married just across the street at beach access #10...we loved the house, the location and of course we loved Frank!!! We just finished a glorious 6 night stay, in both units, at the CASA. The home has everything: elevators, beach chairs, pool/beach toys, carts to carry them to the sand, rolling coolers, bikes, towels, you name it. Every bedroom has a flat screen, cable, DVD and VCR. The decks all have sun and great views of both sunrises and sunsets. The cabana rooms off the pool are great for changing and for playing Wii--the TV screen is huge!! This was our second time renting and we look forward to going back and staying longer.

My family celebrated the best Christmas at Casa Mariposa -front unit! Plenty of room for our college age twin sons, our 2 daughters & their husbands and our grandson! Pack & play, high chair & lots of sand toys! Very relaxing, beautiful beach, close to Siesta Key village too!Loved using the bikes!We have older parents that live in the area & were able to come over for visits on the porch with a great view of the beach. Having the elevator access for their use was so helpful & appreciated! Frank the caretaker, was extremely nice & very helpful! We hope to be back next year!

I rented both units for a wonderful family vacation. Both of my grown sons and their friends joined us for a week of wonderful memories. We loved having bikes for everyone to ride into the village, and Frank the Handyman is awesome. The memories and good times created at Casa Mariposa are priceless!! Bambi is the best. I have used VRBO for the past 4 years to rent apts, condos, private homes, etc all over the world. Hands down, Bambi is the best owner I have worked with and her property was everything we were hoping for. The house was beautifully decorated, the location was perfect, the amenities were plentiful and the toys, bikes, beach equipment was great. When you pick a place via the internet, you are never sure whether the pictures/write-up are truly representative. We were not disappointed, it was an absolutely beautiful home, with a heart and soul of its own. When you walk in, you cannot stop noticing all the care and thought that has gone into Casa de Mariposa, and we felt so welcomed. It was furnished with every amenity you can imagine, the ice cream maker and margarita machine are just examples of the many extras included. This was a 5 star accomodation, that we would return to in a heart beat. We had gone to Siesta Key for our daughter's destination wedding, and Casa de Mariposa was where family gathered to meet and greet, and where we spent many an hour sharing stories. So if you are ever going to Siesta Key and you want to have a "home" away from home that is peaceful and welcoming, this is the place to stay!!!

We are local residents and just wanted to get away for a nice weekend and celebrate our daughter and son's birthday (teenagers). We stayed in the front unit and it was absolutely perfect! Bambi's personal touch really gave a welcoming feeling. We allowed the kids to invite a few friends to stay with us for their birthday. It was very ideal for this age group because they could hang out and do their own thing and the beach was only a few steps away. Not to mention they thought the house was the coolest place they had seen. None of us wanted to leave on Monday. Bambi/Frank had everything you would need. We only had to buy food. It was so nice. Even though we live here, most of us don't get the time to enjoy our beautiful Siesta Beach. We will definitely go back and hope to make this mini-getaway an annual tradition.

We had the pleasure of being the very first guests to stay at Casa De Mariposa last year. We returned this year and it was even better! We celebrated my Birthday and had plenty of space to accommodate everyone. This home is filled with Love and has every thing you could possibly need and more! It was just remodeled and it is absolutely beautiful! This is one of the nicest places on Siesta Key. You can even watch TV from the swimming pool:-) We stayed in the front unit both times, but we looked at the back unit which is just as nice, just a bit smaller. The view and proximity to the beach is awesome. We didn't have to buy any beach gear at all. They have it all..... beach chairs, toys, coolers, radio, snorkel gear, etc. If you enjoy your privacy this place is perfect. Frank (the care taker)is there to help with anything you may need and Bambi(the owner)is awesome! They are just good people and will go above and beyond to get you whatever you need. This is the only place I will stay. Once you've had the best you can't go back to the rest. Thanks Bambi and Frank for everything. See you next year!

Stop!! Don't look any further!! This IS the place for you!! WOW, WOW, WOW!! Bambi has thought of everything! Bring your suit, some food, and your set! It's like pulling up to home, but better!! She is not getting all these great reviews for nothing!! We are a group of friends that take time out once a year to spend time with each other's families. Three families with 5 small children ranging in age from 7 mths to 5 yrs stayed in the front unit and there was plenty of room for everyone. If your a family with kids, this place will meet all your needs. Two pack and plays, double jogging stroller, electric kiddie jeep, wagon, lots of pool toys, plenty of beach towels, ice cream maker with toppings! I mean you just find places like this! We couldn't figure out the tv's and the hand man Frank came by to help us out. What a sweet guy. We grilled out on an awesome grill by the pool and he told us not to worry, he would clean the grill for us!! Geeze! With all those kids, not having to clean the grill was like having him do the dishes after dinner! LOL Thanks Frank!! As you can see we all loved it! We will definitely be back. This place is a great party house or a great for a girl's retreat. Bambi has covered everything. The decor is just as awesome as everything else. Reserve your space now!! Don't look any further!

As a family of five with three children under the age of seven, Casa de Mariposa offers everything a travelling family can ask for. The owner has all of the necessary beach equipment, bikes, baby/toddler toys for the pool, beach, house(including baby monitors, gates, high chairs, pack n plays, videos, etc.). It was one of the most enjoyable vacations is a long time. I could sit by the gorgeous heated pool while the baby was sleeping while my husband took our other children to the beach. The margarita machine sure got it's use, too! Thank you, we can't wait to come back. Thanks for your hospitality.

This twin home, Casa de Mariposa, is a great choice for a rental on Siesta Key, FL. It is as lovely as the photography you see listed. The owner has everything you need for a great time. The bicycles were fun for the kids to ride, the stroller was helpful to get out to the beach with an infant. Toys, games, video library and of course the pool were extremely good for entertaining the family. We enjoyed the shallow beach which allowed the children to play in and hunt for the many sand dollars and shells we found. This home is landscaped so beautifully and decorated in a modern colorful, comfortable style. It is really perfect for three couples to share.
