Enjoy the peace and beauty of coastal Maine and total privacy at the tip of a peninsula at the Reversing Falls on the Sheepscot River. Above the falls there are two fresh water rivers: the Sheepscot and the Dyer. Below the falls - salt water bay. The cottage is fully equipped with dishes, flatware, pots & pans, towels and linens. (One week minimum with rental periods running from Saturday to Saturday. Please check terms and conditions near bottom of page.)
Nearby Points of Interest: Wiscasset - 'The prettiest Village in Maine', Pemaquid Point, Christmas Cove, Popham Beach, Reid State Park, Upper and Lower Hell's gates, Maine Botanical Coastal Gardens, Boothbay Harbor, Fort Edgecomb. Look for a video about Sheepscot falls.
Fishing Information: There is an Atlantic salmon pool above the falls at the outgoing tide (not allowed at this time). Striped Bass - Plentiful, Blue Fish appear during some years, Brook and Brown Trout in the fresh water rivers, Clamming, Oysters open. Also, Bird watching - Many song birds, ospreys, bald eagles.
Terms and Conditions: Rental periods are for full weeks only and run from Saturday to Saturday. *$200 Security Deposit required when booking. Full rental fee (plus 7% Maine State Rental Tax) due upon arrival. Payment by cash or check - SORRY, NO CREDIT CARDS. 10% discount applies for stay of two weeks or greater. (*The $200 Security Deposit is nonrefundable in the event of cancellation; however if you do rent, it will be returned to you after your stay upon satisfactory inspection of the cottage.)
