Dear Rick and Linda, Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home. Your home was exactly as shown in your listing. The furnishings and beds were very comfortable and everything we needed for our stay was provided. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed watching the pheasants and other birds in the garden. You have a great location and we had a nice time exploring the Volcano area, Puna District, and National Park. We would definitely recommend your home to our friends. Sincerely, Bill, Marsha, James, Alex, & Darcy Medina
Owner response:Dear Bill and family, We are always so glad when our guests enjoy their stay at our Volcano home. Many of the thoughts you expressed mirror our personal enjoyment when we stay there ourselves. We hope you will visit us again in the future. Aloha, Linda and Rick

We stayed two nights here while we explored Volcanoes National Park with our two teenagers. The house is extremely comfortable with ample sized bedrooms, a generous kitchen and living room space, and a wonderful lanai. The kitchen is well provisioned and all is impeccably clean. They also have a water treatment system so the water is also drinkable and we didn't need to worry about lugging up our water supply when we arrived into Hilo. The landscaping of the property is also gorgeous. The entrance to the park is only minutes away by car so we went easily out and back to return to the house for meals between our hikes and ranger talks, and then could easily zip back once again to see the lava glow at night. The center of the village of Volcano is also only a bit further down the road if you want to dine out. We also walked down to the winery down the road and enjoyed winetasting without worries of driving. In all, it was a great house for our family in a perfect location for exploring Volcano.

Thank you so much for our lovely, comfortable stay. Everything we needed - right under one roof. Location is GREAT! Husbands golfed, wives went to the Farmers' market, son skateboarded on the quiet streets. And, in the middle of the night, we got to walk thru the Thurston Lava Tube (we do have a park pass and it is actually open after hours - in case anyone is reading this). However, make certain you have enough light (we had a lantern for the hike in and out - but the Lava Tube itself is lit). Our stay here has been a highlight.

Linda and Rick, This is probably our 20th visit to the Volcano and we've always searched for a place to stay that was warm and dry inside with comfortable, well-lit places to read, a comfortable bed and plenty of room. We have found it! My wife and I are celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary and your house met our needs. The high speed internet worked beautifully. We enjoyed the house so much that we mostly ate here.... with take-out food from the Thai Thai. We've had a wonderful visit. Thank you.

The pictures are all accurate, lots of room - especially the master bedroom! Very helpful to be able to do laundry here as well. It's in a very quiet area, moments to Volcano National Park. Nice place, obviously very new, the master bath with the walk in shower and double sink made for pleasant prep time in the morning. Recommend especially for those with a group or teeangers who will want some room while getting ready for a big day of hiking!

This is a great place to stay if you want to explore Volcano National Park -- it's just a few minutes from the park entrance. Our family stayed for a few nights and there was lots of space with three bedrooms for our two young children, my mother in law, and my wife and me. A big (somewhat unexpected) plus, was a fast internet connection with Wi-Fi.

We greatly enjoyed our time in this home. The property was exactly what we had hoped for after reading the listing and seeing the pictures. We travelled with my 80 year old mom and 20 year old daughter, so the four of us needed a good amount of space and this home provided it for us. With the home being only one story, Mom didn't tire out doing lost of stairs. Everything in the house was laid out so that it was easy to spend time together but there was plenty of space for some down time, too The house had everything we could need.. all we had to do was unpack and start enjoying. And, given the close drive to the volcano, we DID enjoy! It was easy to get up and get started early on our adventures, and there was a lot to see in the area. Mom's dream was to see a volcano in her lifetime and she saw a lot using this prime location as our base, and she enjoyed every minute of it! I would recommend this home to anyone looking to explore all that the volcano has to offer, and we would rent this site again anytime we were planning to visit the Big Island. Thanks for making our "island adventure" so easy!

This place was truly our home away from home. The house was in as new condition and everything was clean and beautiful. The backyard was very large and nicely landscaped. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the covered lanai as we watched the pheasants politely walking about the garden. This sanctuary is very deserving of our five-star rating and is highly recommended. When you stay here please take care of this jewel so it doesn't lose it luster and charm.

Beautiful home. Very very clean and well maintained. The neighborhood was peaceful and the yard was tranquil. Very convevient to Valocano Nat'l. Park. We had a wonderful time and hated to leave. My mother, husband and our 2 teenagers stayed there, and there was plenty of room. We all stayed in2 other rentals besides this one while on vacation there in Hawaii, and we all agreed, this was the nicest. The owners were very accomodating. We couldn't have been happier with the place. I hope we get to visit again some day. Thanks for the hospitality. Aloha

I booked this property for myself and two colleagues who were doing some work for a nonprofit organization that partners with nearby Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The property more than lived up to its description and photos. The large living, dining and kitchen area gave us space to spread out. It is very nicely furnished and quite comfortable. We felt very relaxed and welcome in our surroundings. The location was both quiet and convenient to the park, and a great value for a small group or family.

My husband and I have had the opportunity to stay in this wonderful home twice during the last 3 months of 2008. We plan to return in the spring of 2009 spending more time hiking the trails in and around Volcanoes National Park. This lovely home is no more than a short 5 to 10 minute drive to the national park or the quaint Volcano Village. We also enjoyed listening to and watching all of the native birds and wildlife around this charming, tranquil and peaceful home. The home itself is very clean and superbly decorated with a well manicured yard. The lanai is inviting, the neighborhood is friendly and you feel very comfortable nuzzling up with a good book on the patio during the day or snuggling up to a very romantic fireplace at night. With sincere Aloha, Joe and Sue Loewenhardt

What a wonderful, peaceful getaway. We stayed in two other resorts during this vacation but this house was the best by far. The only concern we had was that we wish we could have stayed here longer! Nature and beauty inside and out & Volcano National Park a few minutes away. Great location and fantastic house! 11/7/08

Aloha, We had the best time at your beautiful home in Volcano. We loved our stay. Your place was classy - beautifully decorated and very cozy. The weather was perfect so we used the back lanai a great deal...having pupus and drinks out there. In the mornings, we watched pheasants and turkeys walking around in the back yard. We saw quite a few Apapane. We hiked, took long walks in the neighborhood, did the Volcano Run/Walk, celebrated a birthday and anniversary, read books, and prepared great meals. We felt so much at home and didn't feel like we were in a vacation rental! It was totally relaxing and just what each of us (3 couples) wanted from our three-day weekend in Volcano!
