ORCAS ISLAND-
The Beautiful San Juan Islands
#2 of Travel Destinations Worldwide 2011
The New York Times
#3 of Best of North American Islands
Travel & Leisure 2012
Recently voted one of the world’s most exciting ferry rides your trip to the San Juan Islands promises beautiful views of mountains, forests and a close connection to the ocean. Glimpses of Orca Whales, Harbor Seals, Porpoises, and Sea Lions are not uncommon. Moderate temperatures make the islands ideal for all kinds of activities such as boating, fishing, kayaking and hiking. There’s no place more beautiful for recreation, relaxation and rejuvenation.
Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the deck of our beautiful home located in the VERY POPULAR Rosario area. Just 1.5 miles finds you at the entrance to Moran State Park with 5 lakes, hiking trails and Mt. Constitution. 2 miles in the other direction and you are at the beach front at Rosario Resort.
The open floor plan, skylights, and southern exposure make this very comfortable and modern home light and airy.
The large master suite boasts a jetted tub and private access to the west facing deck. Step out on the deck and enjoy your morning coffee. With a separate full bath and queen bed in the guest room, this home is perfect for two couples. But a sleeping sofa in the living room will provide for a larger group.
On your visit to our home on BEAUTIFUL ORCAS ISLAND you can enjoy Directv on our two new High Definition TV's. We also have a well stocked game closet and selection of DVDs as well as an I-Pod Dock for your listening pleasure. HIGH SPEED INTERNET with a WiFi router makes it possible for our guests to access the internet from the comfort of our home or even from the relaxing deck.
PET FRIENDLY!! Even your family pet will feel welcome! The deck leads to a fenced in area for your dog to have some off leash freedom. Rosario Heights is open to visits for one or two dogs.
With our home located on a quiet private road, this rural area and close proximity to the park often has visits from local deer.
Not a half mile is the trail that circles Cascade Lake. Rosario Heights is a wonderful place for a hiker to hang his hat. Walk out the door for the five mile circuit around Cascade Lake in Moran State Park. Enjoy a swimming beach not 2 miles away.
Nearby several trail heads are marked. These silvan paths lead to the trail that circles Cascade Lake in Moran State Park. Some of the parks trails are available to cyclists.
You can also hike or drive down the hill to Rosario Resort to find a waterfront beach near Cascade Marina, again not 2 miles from Rosario Heights.

We have traveled extensively as a family and frequently rent a vacation home. I can state that this home is unequivocally the nicest rental we've ever stayed in. It's beautifully furnished and has an open floor plan with jaw dropping views of Puget Sound from the deck, living room and dining area. The owners have clearly taken pains to ensure that their guests have everything they need. It didn't feel like a vacation rental, but rather a well loved home. We didn't lack for anything and were loathe to leave at the end of our stay. We're already planning a return visit and hope to be able to stay here again. Thank you so much Rick and Alexandra for being such great hosts!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hi Bruce & Scarlette, THANKS for taking the time to list your comments. We are glad you had a nice time. Many of our guests return for additional stays and we look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks again, Rick & Alexandra

We spent a week of quiet relaxation here. Part of the week my greyhound and I were joined by my girlfriend, and the rest of the week we were joined by my boyfriend and his terrier. Everyone loved their time here, including the dogs. The terrier loved the dog run and easy access to going out. My greyhound doesn't do stairs well, but it was no problem walking him out front. The house is comfortable and well-appointed and felt like home from the get go. The entire experience of initial communication and making reservations was absolutely top-notch. The owners are responsive and extremely helpful. The house itself is open and spacious, yet cozy and homey. Everything we needed to have a great week was there. The setting is quiet and private and the view is stunning. Being close to the state park is a bonus, and having an off leash park in Eastsound, just a few minutes away, is a double bonus. My girlfriend and I spent hours on the deck reading and sunning and hearing nothing but the birds singing. My boyfriend loved the proximity to hiking trails. We put the quality gas grill and kitchen to great use. Furniture is attractive and comfortable, decor and colors charming, everything very clean. This turned out to be one of our best vacations ever and we will probably be return guests. I highly recommend this house and this location. Folks in Eastsound are very friendly and the town is charming for dining out, shopping and roaming about. And then it's nice to come "home" to this perch in the middle of the forest with an outlook to water and mountains. Wow!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My family and I came out to visit the San Juan Islands in May. This home was beautiful in everyway. The owner described the home to me in detail, but was pleasanty surprised when it was so much more than he said. The ambiance and setting was magnificent. Out of the three homes we've stayed in, this home was by far the most beautiful, scenic and memorable. Woods surround the home and it is very private. We were all very thrilled to have stayed here and would love to come back for another visit, for a longer stay. Highly recommended!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hello Mark and Monique. Thank you for taking the time to send us your review. We are very happy you had a nice time and hope to hear from you again. Thanks, Rick & Alexandra

My family and I had a wonderful time in this cozy home. The home is just minutes away from Moran state park with lots walking trails and amazing views. There are many activities you can do hiking, biking, walking, kayaking everything for the outdoor lover but if all you want to do is stay home and relax then is just the right place as well so peaceful and cozy. The house was well stocked of items you might need (basic spices, toiletries, etc.) the list of movies and games is so extensive everyone can get a chance to pick a favorite one. The home was very clean, neat and organized with plenty of useful information for those are staying there. I loved the fact that it was so easy to arrange our stay and Rick answered all my emails immediately and gave me lots of information. We all had a great time that we're already planing on going back soon. It truly was a little piece of heaven on earth! Thanks Rick & Alexandra for sharing your home with the rest of us! We had a wonderful 11 days on Orcas in this fabulous vacation rental. It truly was our home away from home. It is fully equipped with everything and anything you might need and the beds are very comfortable. Having our two dogs along and the enclosed yard was perfect. The view, weather, surroundings, and hikes were incredible! We look forward to visiting again. Thank you for your warm hospitality Rick.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Maxine and Steve for your kind thoughts. We are very happy both of you and your dogs had a great time. We look forwarding to hearing from you again!! Rick & Alexandra

This house is everything the website claims, and more! We were amazed at how clean and welcoming it is, and the view really is wonderful. Despite being "dog friendly" there was absolutely no pet odor. Our dachshund loved the private dog yard off the deck, and we loved not having to leash him to let him outside. Moran Park is very close (walking distance) and the drive to Mt. Constitution was short and pleasant. (We did have to walk the last mile due to snow, but it was a beautiful walk.) The kitchen really is fully equipped, unlike some other vacation rentals we're stayed in. All in all, one of the best vacation rentals ever. Thank you so much for letting us stay!Owner response: Hello Katherine, Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your review. We are always thrilled when our guests enjoy our home and the beautiful island. Thanks again, Rick & Alexandra

My husband, dog and I stayed here last year for our honeymoon. We loved it and vowed to come back. We did--for our first anniversary--and we intend to make an annual tradition out of it. I'm writing this on our last afternoon here and I'm sad that we're leaving tomorrow. The view is amazing, regardless of weather. We've watched storms roll in from the coziness of inside and bald eagles, sunsets and deer from the deck. The house is clean and stocked with anything you could need. Our dog loves it too and it's so nice to have the convenience of a fenced area for him. There are games, puzzles, movies and music at the house so you don't have to pack all that with you. There's plenty to keep you entertained but we spend time just looking out at the water, sipping wine and relaxing unless we're hiking. The hiking in nearby Moran State Park (and elsewhere on the island) is great with a variety of easily accessible trails. If that's not your thing, Eastsound is just 10 minutes away with restaurants, little shops and a full grocery store. The owners have been very easy to deal with and have obviously done a lot to make their home welcoming. We can't wait until we return next year!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hello Shannon & Rob, Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to write this WONDERFUL REVIEW!! We are so happy your 2nd stay with us was also enjoyable. We look forward to hearing from you again. Have a safe trip home. Rick & Alexandra

My family (2 adults, 9-year-old, and dog) spent 4 very happy days here in late December. For us, the house was perfect! The gorgeous view sets the tone - but in addition, a wonderful layout, generously-stocked kitchen, enclosed dog run, and fantastic selection of movies, puzzles etc made us all feel welcome, and enabled us to fully relax and recharge. The proximity to Moran State Park is also fantastic! We enjoyed several spectacular hikes, easily accessible from the house. The owners were wonderful to deal with, even following through to locate and return a small and seemingly-insignificant item we had left. The house is perfectly clean and well-maintained. Overall, this place is a gem!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Our stay in this home was comfortable, relaxing, and quiet - exactly what we had been looking for. The home is beautiful and very clean, with a view of the sound that's out of this world. Several deer and a bald eagle highlighted our visits to the yard and deck, and we loved watching the ferries, sailboats, and water planes come and go in the distance. The owners are extremely nice, and even granted us a special request that made our stay an even better experience. I would recommend a getaway to this home to anyone!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
