The condo was absolutely perfect. It was cheerful, clean and comfortable. The view was amazing, we loved the privacy and always felt safe. Our Son and his wife were in one room which was far enough from us to feel like we had our own house, yet the common areas were spacious, festive and fun to share. The pool at your condo was a nice quiet change of pace from the Reef Club pools. Owner's Map of Chac Ha
I discovered Playa del Carmen in March of 2000. I had visited Cancun several times before and the white sand beaches and Caribbean sea were beautiful but the huge mega resorts reminded me of Las Vegas. It wasn't a city you could easily walk nor did it seem to have any soul. I caught a bus to Playa only to ride the ferry to Cozumel for some diving and flats fly fishing. At that time Cozumel was the main attraction and Playa was a sleepy little fishing village. When I returned from Cozumel, I was so tired I decided to stay in Playa before returning to Cancun. A planned one night stay turned into a five night stay because I was at peace in Playa. The town had soul, had a history, beautiful beaches, friendly people and 5th Ave was so much fun with great food and drinks and fantastic people watching.
From then on, Cancun was merely an airport where I could rent a car and drive 35 minutes to Playa. I have several vacation rental units now but Playa was my first and still my favorite.

We recently stayed at this condo for ten days. I have previously rented at this condo complex before and that is why we chose to return. Gordon was great and very easy to work with. The condo was fully furnished and is a great accomodation for families with small children. The kitchen worked great for stocking up on snacks and drinks for the kids. It is also very convenient to have the separate bedrooms for the kids compared to a hotel room. The pool at the condo is very quiet but there is also the option to go to the busier pools at the Reef Club across the street. The condo is located close to 5th Ave. We really enjoyed buying the all inclusive option at the Reef Club as well for days that we knew we would be at the pool and beach all day! Thanks to Gordon for a great vacation.

Loved the condo. Great furnishings, awesome beds. Location is fantastic. Nice walk to Restaurants. Arrangement with the Reef resort works well. Gordon was excellent to deal with and replied in timely and helpful manner regarding any questions.

We stayed in Isla Mujeres [ which we loved] and Playa Del Carmen for over a month in three different places. They were each special in their own way but Chac-Ha was definitely the high light of our trip! The condo was beautiful and spacious, and we especially loved having access to the all inclusive resort across the street. We took advantage of the use of the nonmotorized water sports like hobie cats and kayaking, and even got our diving certification there and did some great dives at Barracuda and Jardine reefs. The beach was perfect for boogie boards and bodysurfing and we took advantage of being able to use the all inclusive resorts lounge chairs on the beach and at the pool.There was lots for the kids to do and 5th ave was only a short walk down the street. all in all it was a fantastic way to finish off our holiday. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend a stay at chac-ha!

Excellent place for a holiday. When we arrived the place had not been cleaned but Gordon, the owner got on it right away and were compensated accordingly. He was a real pleasure to deal with and even though we had a little hiccup in the begining. We would definitely stay here again because of Gordon's excellent customer service. He is an owner that really does care about his guests and their time at his place. We had our 6 month old with us and we had the privacy of the condo pool if we wanted which had no more than 2 other people there most of the time. Right across the street was the Reef club in which we had full access to. It was awesome to have the option of the beach, the reef club pools or our own at the condo to relax at. One thing I would highly recommend is bringing a laptop or some kind of device (iPhone, Blackberry) that can use there free WIFI internet. It was so much easier to email the owner and family for free then call. The internet connection was even fast enough for skype. Great for seniors and adults with kids. All in all a A+++ experience.

My wife travelled to Playa with a 3yo and a 5yo, and the place was GREAT! Gordon was super to work with. If you have picked Playa Del Carmen as a destination, and you are looking for a place right across the street from the Reef Club, and easy to get to 5th Avenue, this place is good location, good accomodations. For our young kids, we had a choice of condo pool, or two pools across the street at the Reef Club. The condo is so close, we would not purchase the inclusive wrist band for food and drinks. We would just load up some drinks, and snacks and walk over, then walk back for naps in the afternoon. We loved watching the geckos come out at night on the patio. Babysitters were easily arranged, and we felt safe trusting our kids to someone, and heading down to 5th street at night. It was easy to flag a cab and head for Walmart to stock up. Stock up for many days though because Walmart is packed. The condo pool often had other property owners from the states there lounging. They were friendly and sources for good shopping, dining options and things to see and do. As easy as it was to get from airport to PDC, then taxi everywhere, I will definately head back. And when I do, we will give Gordon a call.

Our family with two girls (10 and 13) had a wonderful time. Playcar itself is a safe, clean and pituresque resort village full. The condo is very convenient with only a 15 minute walk or $5 US cab ride to 5th Avenue, a mecca of shops, retaurants and bars to last a lifetime. Supermarkets are also within easy reach. Condo itself is quiet, very spacious and well equipped. It felt like a home to come back to every day. Reef Hotel across the road is stunning with great white beach. We only had one buffet meal there which was ok. Watch out for the time share sharks! There is a nice small pool with the condo which was empty most of the time, The Reef has a bigger pool (2) and comes with frenetic entertainmant staff who out on exercise programmes and pool games. No kids club though. Eating out in 5th Avenue at most of the retaurants is going to cost about $250 pesos per head for main course, drinks and a dessert. Watch out for your bill. We got overcharged a few times and had to make a little British scene. Gordon was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful the whole time. Staff at the condo are very friendly and provide security as well as keeping the gardens blooming. There are loads of things to do in the surrounding area, We stuck to the resort and only ventured to XCaret, an enviromental theme park which is a ten minute cab ride away. It is brilliantly done with undergraound rivers to float down and swimming with dolphins. The latter is extra (a lot extra) but woth it all the same. We were here in July and the resort was lively but not at all busy due to the economic downturn and swine flu concerns. Great for us and no fightting over sun beds. It was mostly Mexicans and Americans/Canadians on holiday here. Weather was hot and sunny and quite humid so we beached it in the mornings and sheltered inside for the siesta time, Kids loved having the Disney Channel and we caught a few movies on HBO. Al in all, I cannot recommend this highly enough as a resort, place to stay and Grodon as your host.

Prices were great everywhere and the town was wonderful. We usually just walked to town and then took a $5 taxi ride home at night. We bought one of the jellyfish gourd lamps and hung it in our cabana as soon as we got home. Good decision!! We went to the Reef Resort every day for the beach for free- thanks! The diving was great. We were able to hit 6 different reefs and I was really surprised at the abundance and variety of sea life. There was never a dull moment and we were delighted with your home.
