Lovely Cabin

Guest: Robin D.
Date of Stay: 05/09/12 Review Submitted: 05/20/12

very nice comfortable cabin. Had everything we needed. A good location between Zion and Bryce. Loved sitting on the deck and grilling after a long day in the parks. The washer and dryer were great to have. We had our breakfast and dinners at the cabin. Had bought a cooler and bought food in Springville WalMart super store, as we had driven down from Salt Lake City Airport.. I had reseached and knew there werent any supermarkets that close. The road to Cedar City was still out due to a landslide that occured a while ago. Sandy was very helpful with directions and any questions about the area. Weather was great. Thanks Robin and John Donohue Stockholm, NJ

English Couple's First Trip to Utah

Guest: Irene (The Woodlands, Texas)
Date of Stay: 04/25/12 Review Submitted: 05/03/12

The cabin was wonderful and had everything that we needed. It was warm and cozy even though night time temperatures were mostly below freezing. We visited Bryce & Zion National Parks - both within easy reach. We hiked the trails around the cabin and saw lots of wild life including chipmunks, marmots, a fox and wild turkeys. Our only bad moment was trying to leave the village en route to Zion after it had rained all the previous night. I don't recommend doing this in a Prius even though we were using the winter route.

Great cabin in the woods!

Guest: Julie S.
Date of Stay: 04/20/12 Review Submitted: 05/02/12

We all enjoyed the cabin at Duck Creek. Relaxing on the deck looking out over the snow in the woods, was wonderful! It is a great place to stay while visiting Bryce and Zion. Loved seeing the eagle's nest on the way to highway 89. Would definitely recommend staying here. The owners and their local representative were very helpful.

We had a wonderful time in your cozy cabin. Thank you for letting our doggies come. We hiked in the snow a lot. They were exhausted each day. We slept, listening to music, read and just really relaxed.

Warm and Cozy Home

Thank you for opening your home to us. We had a wonderful Christmas vacation on our first time in Utah. We had fun snowmobiling Christmas Day to Navajo Lake, Cascade Falls and extremely lucky for Pinewoods Resort to rent us the fun vehicles. What a warm and cozy home - I enjoyed cooking and baking again for my family.

The last two days have been simply AWESOME! We had a good stay, the cabin is calm and peaceful and gave us the much needed respite from hectic city life we celebrated our friends Bachelorette party, got drunk and lived some wonderful moments. The cabin is nicely equipped with various amenities. We definitely look forward to coming back :)

Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. There was a nice little snowstorm our 2nd day here. We enjoyed it! The people of Duck Creek Village are very friendly. We look forward to coming back next year. We are cutting our trip a day short-we are a little homesick. Our dog is a city dog and doesn't quite know what to make of all of this. Thanks again.

Celebrating our 20th Anniversary, my Wife's birthday and my own birthday within the loving bosom of our great earth Mother. Our hikes within this magical area have been majestic, spellbinding, and mind altering. Without a doubt I shall recommend to all of my fellow extremely stressed medical professionals to arrive here in Nirvana for a time and time again.

Happy Halloween! What a delightful spot - and what a delightful weekend in a beautiful place to usher in the holiday season. The girls love feeding the birds, the turkeys and the chipmunks, all of which were so agreeable that they came right up to us to enjoy their treats. The weather could not have been more perfect nor the cabin more cozy. What a great weekend! I must close - the turkeys have come to say goodbye!

What a wonderful place to relax after two vigorous tournaments in Flagstaff, Arizona and at the World Senior Games in St. George, Utah. The cabin was wonderful... well stocked, comfy sleeping and a marvelous deck and grill. Was amazed how warm it felt in the full sun; we luckily had four great days of sunshine and watched the piles of snow on either side of the cabin disappear. Saw several sets of wild turkey and a couple of deer and a few birds. Definitely a place to return to another year.

Little piece of Heaven

Guest: Tiffany S.
Date of Stay: 09/11/11 Review Submitted: 09/30/11

There are not enough adjectives, or positive things, to say about Cedar Haven!! We have rented other properties, and by far, this was the best property, for our needs. The cabin has the perfect layout, and when they say all amenities provided, they mean it! Plus, it seems like every past family left something that could be helpful for your stay. The beds were comfortable, and extra pillows, blankets, towels, fans and heaters are all provided, if needed. The covered, wrap around porch (with gate) is PERFECT, for a family with children or dogs - we felt totally comfortable leaving the dogs outside, knowing they wouldn't roam off. The porch has chairs, tables, a picnic table, and lots of room to enjoy being outside, it even overlooks a firepit, with a bench swing nearby. The cabin is on a dead end street, which makes for low traffic and great walks. We had deer, fawns and wild turkey roaming around during our stay. There are so many hiking trails nearby, and the visitors center is just down the street. We had one issue that was caused by storms, but when we notified Sandy, she had it fixed the next day - can't get any better than that!!! I've already started talking about going back next year with my nephew & niece. This was a perfect place to stay, for a excellant price, and would recommend it to anyone.

This was our first trip to Utah. The cabin made the whole visit very comfortable and special. It was a great home base for us to hike in Bryce and Zion National Parks. Loved the local treats... Cedar Breaks, Cascade Falls, Aspen Mirror Lake and the ice cream with free toppings in Duck Creek Village. The cabin was really a home away from home. Loved our stay.

Excellent

Date of Stay: 05/27/11 Review Submitted: 06/05/11

Two friends and I stayed here for a week to motorcycle in the Southern Utah area, and the cabin was great. Roads are gravel in this area and not really suited for our touring motorcycles, but it was worth the challenge of driving them to and from the cabin to stay here. Description was accurate and the cabin is MUCH nicer then the pictures suggest. Host is VERY responsive (emails within four hrs), VERY helpful (able to correct an issue we had while we were staying at the cabin quickly), and she is very reasonable and easy to work with. Awesome area and cabin. I will be back.

Best Thanksgiving ever!

Guest: Evans Family (Las Vegas, NV)
Date of Stay: 11/24/10 Review Submitted: 02/17/11

I stayed with my husband, mom, brother and sister for Thanksgiving and it was the best one of all time. We were amazed that everything we needed was there for us plus more! Things we didn't consider bringing were there for our use such as games, movies, and those snow discs. This trip brought my whole family together and kept us laughing, especially with Yahtzee and playing in the snow. The cabin was spacious and warm. The weather was -15 outside our first day, but inside was nice and cozy. We found that we didn't need to go anywhere except lounge around and enjoy the winter air and hangout. The coffee shop at True Value was awesome though. The family that owns it was very sweet to us and they made excellent coffee! I can't wait to go back during Spring to see all the beautiful trees during their spring time.

Utah is a beautiful state! We had a very active vacation and did as much as we could in 8 days. There is so much more! Of course the National Parks were beautiful and inspiring and we traversed many trails there as well as local ones near the cabin. Renting an ATV for our family from Pinewoods resort was another highlight. Near this cabin we saw deer, chipmunks, squirrels, fox, woodpeckers, and an assortment of birds.

A perfect little place to stay while visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon

Guest: Ali (Pittsburgh, PA)
Date of Stay: 07/05/10 Review Submitted: 07/16/10

This is a charming little cottage to stay in while you visit Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. The owners were quick to respond when I had questions, the cabin itself is clean, comfortable and well appointed, and the location itself is literally halfway between the two National Parks. We enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the area, the cool nights, and of course the two parks. Zion Adventure Company in Springdale is a great asset for the more adventuresome; they offer many packages and excursions to compliment your Zion National Park visit. The hoodoos of Bryce are hauntingly beautiful and should not be missed. We highly recommend Canyon Trail Rides for a horseback ride down into the canyon. Our overall vacation experience, Grand Canyon North Rim then Cedar Haven in Duck Creek Village (Bryce & Zion) and finally on to Sedona was truly the most memorable family vacation we have ever shared. The cabin was the perfect size for our family of four. Cedar Haven played a role in making this incredible vacation as special and as perfect as it was. A great, big Thank You to the owners for making their home available for us to share.

What a great cabin! Everything was perfect. The furniture, and especially the bed was so comfy. We had the best time with all of the ATV trails that are offered at Duck Creek. The weather was perfect - sunny everyday with highs in upper 70's low 80's. A little dusty, which is where your very nice shower came in handy. We are looking forward to a little village party Saturday night from 5-10:00 pm. The food that is cooked in the smoker is awesome. Thank you Olson's for sharing your awesome cabin. We will highly recommend Cedar Haven!

We also visited at Best Friend's Animal Sanctuary and loved it. We had great weather all week (a little hot at Zion - 99 degrees). Our last day greeted us with rain and a high of 38 degrees. Time for us to move on. Good bye to Utah and Cedar Haven. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cedar Haven = Cedar Heaven We got to experience all weather conditions. Woke up next morning to four inches of fluffy powder on deck and snow showers next few days - great weather to explore Zion and Bryce - road to Cedar Breaks was still closed. Visited Best Friend's Animal Sanctuary in Kanab - very humbling - highlight was a half-day horseback riding trip into Bryce Canyon - magical!!! Lovely cabin to hang out and enjoy the whispering pines - our dog, who was leashed on the deck, got to experience her first encounter with a beautiful fox. The area is very quiet and nice to walk around. There is so much to see and do in this area that we will be back to explore more - thank you for sharing your lovely cabin.

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. We got a little lost getting here but your king caretaker drove us right to the front door. We were really comfortable here and had a great view of a falcon our last morning. Our only regret was we forgot to wear sunscreen in the snow while sledding at Woods ranch. Ouch! We'll plan on coming back again.
