This was the first time staying at a condo versus a hotel in Isla Verde. We went this route because we were traveling with another couple - so the 3-bedroom is ideal (two bathrooms, a must). If you book a 2-bedroom they only have 1 bathroom, so this works much better. Now for the review. Worth it, worth it, worth it. That takes of the financial aspect. Great communication, easy access, check-in/check-out. No hassles. The hotel has wi-fi in the lobby which is free and the apartment is as comfy as you would want. I took some great shots from the balcony esp. of the lit pool at night. So, we're comfortable, it's quite reasonable, very clean, no hassle and the best part - it's location. You walk out the door and everything, I mean everything is in walking distance. We didn't rent a car until AFTER we left since we were doing the touristy thing and going to Humacao. Go for it. Hotels are so yesterday. :)Recommended for: Tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

At first I was not sure in renting because of the recent reviews, but I called Rebeca and she answered all my questions. Everything was working great. The apartment was nice and cleaned The kitchen was well equipped. The bedroooms were big and the beds were confy The beach was sandy and you only need to open the gate and there it was. If you are looking luxury, then this is not it, you can go to Ritz, but if you are looking to get a nice stay with your family, then this is it. I highly recomend it and definetly would come backDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Let start off with the good things we experienced when we arrived. The ESJ Towers personnel were excellent from security to the top they assisted us with everything we needed The ESJ Towers are definitely in need of a makeover but it served its purpose for our visit. When we arrived at the condo everything seemed fine but it’s not what you see in the pictures. The living room furniture is completely different than the ones seen on the pictures, one of the chairs in the living room was broken and when you sat on the couch you sunk into the couch. Make sure you select the channel you want to watch on TV first because you sit down the TV remote does not work we even changed the batteries for new one and it still did not work. The kitchen was great it was fully stocked and had everything we needed the only problems we found we that the microwave would continue running after you had pressed the stop button or open the door, the toaster only toasted the bread on one side, and if you want ice from the refrigerator you better get it to start making ice immediately when you get there or it will take all week to fill up. When we entered the master bedroom everything seems ok but when we entered the master closet there were all types of bedding all thrown on the shelves and stacked on top of a wooden box as if they did not take the time to fold them and make it presentable. The master bath towel holders were starting to fall off the wall, the toilet was hard to flush. If you want to turn on the ceiling fan while you sleep you need to unscrew the light bulbs from the ceiling or you will not be able to run the fan without the lights on. The other bathroom’s toilet had issues as well when you flush the toilet the toilet would flush for a good minute or two before stopping. One of the lamp shades in the master bedroom was broken and was just sitting on top of the lamp. In one of the other two bedrooms the closet doors (mirror type) we off their tracks and when we attempted to open on the whole door almost came off. I had to place the doors back on track so they would not fall off. I can go on and on but it is not worth my time. The only thing I can recommend if you are renting this condo is if you are looking for somewhere inexpensive and you have a large family that can help you split the cost of the rental just to have somewhere to sleep this is the place for you. If you want to feel like you are at home go somewhere else this is not the place.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Well first of all, when we arrive at the room, it was a mess, there where dirty towels everywhere, the bed linens where used and it has not been change from the previous user, the kitchen was sticky and the floor where dirty. The place smell stuffy. The bathroom toilet was not plushing and the shower where leaking. The bed was hard, it felt like you where sleeping on concrete bed. We woke up with back ache and had to take turn sleeping in the couch. All the key access card they gave us to go in and out of the pool area was not working. We had to wait for other people to come in and out of the pool area to be able to go in. They where doing consturction next to our room and all we hear was drilling and hammering from next door. Which was not fun at all so we tried not to spend too much time in the room. We finally got everything fixed and situated except for the bed and key card. Everything was a walking distance. Old San Juan was only 10 minutes away. Cab fair was not bad. Grocery store, restaurant and bars are walking distant. The pool and jacuzzi was good except the beach was not all that. It had alot of weed and is not the blue color you expect. The place was sutable for the large party we had but would not use this place again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

When I was searching for a place to rent for 6 adults and two children on Isla Verde beach this was the only property I could find that could accomodate that number of people. My daughter and son-in-law were coming to attend the Puerto Rican Tip Off basketball tournament and the rest of the family wanted to gather someplace that was warm, since we were not all able to get together at one time for the Thanksgiving-Christmas hoildays. The basketball fans were staying at the Condado Plaza Hotel, which I knew from previous business layovers does not have a nice beach. This property was adequate for our needs. The property was clean when we arrived; however, the air conditioner was not working. I called Rebeca at 10PM and the AC was fixed the next afternoon. All the rooms have ceiling fans so we were not uncomfortable the first night. The hotel personnel are very friendly and helpful. There is a concierge in the lobby to help with sightseeing programs and dining recommendations. We ate dinner at Mi Casita, the Metropol and Platos. The food was good (Puerto Rican & Cuban) and they were children friendly. We had breakfast in the lobby restaurant, Don Juan's and Denny's. Denny's kitchen was really slow. The rest of our meals we ate in. The kitchen has all the appliances you need. We even baked a birthday cake for our 4 year old grandchild. We spent most of our time at either the pool or going to the beach. They provide towels for both locations. Chairs for the beach can be rented for $2.15. At this time of the year the pool chairs were about 50% occupied so you could always find an empty chair. Our daughter and son-in-law took a taxi to the basketball arena and also a side trip to El Morro. This location is excellent for seeing San Juan. The accomodation list on this website is a bit misleading. For example: Safe- There is no safe in the room but one is available at the front desk. Daily maid service/toilet paper- There was no toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, dish detergent like you would expect at a hotel. Daily maid service is available for an extra $60 per day. Towels- Like other hotels I have stayed in PR they are on the European towel system (bath and hand towels but no face clothes). If we had known in advance some of these ammenities would be missing we could have brought them with us. There is a minimarket in the lobby and a supermarket within walking distance to buy these essentials. Overall a pleasant stay, great beach.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Rebecca was great to work with. She answered all my phone calls quickly. I was a little scared to invest so much money up front to someone i didn't know, but I called ESJ towers to confirm that this deal was legit and they did know rebecca so I felt better after that. My friends and I were looking for an affordable place for a lot of spring break college kids. This place is extremely ideal for people traveling on a budget. The room is a lot bigger then expected; the beds are HUGE and we were able to sleep very comfortably. We did have a sink clog on us while we were there so after e-mailing the owner we were able to have somebody come the next day to fix it for us, which was nice. This hotel's beach isn't that great, but if you walk a bit you will find some nice public beaches and you can rent things like surfboards (and take surfing lessons) or boogie boards. Food around the area was nice; there's even a huge 24 hour grocery store (that also sells alcohol) that's 5 min walking distance so you can do some shopping there to save money. The people are so nice. The guards can call up a cab quickly for you at any time of the day. Free parking (there's a car rental place about 5 min walking distance) and free beach towels is a great plus as well. For those of you who are interested in a little nightly fun, right next to the hotel is El San Juan and they have a club (La Brava) which was a great way for my friends and I to end our spring break. There's a cover and dress code though so be prepared. They even have a live band play at 2am! There's great casinos around the block that we checked out too which are cool. There's also a nice local bar right next to the hotel with free karaoke. We had an excellent time chilling there with the locals. If you have to rely on public transportation, you can take the bus into San Juan for 75 cents (need to have exact change) and the bus comes every half hour. It takes about 45 minutes to get into the city by bus. The bus stop is also about 5 minutes walking distance from ESJ towers. Other places we went to was the rainforest we did some hiking (great view from the top) and Bacardii factory tour (they give you 2 free drinks at the end of the tour). There's also a beautiful beach that's about 30min driving distance and you need to take a ferry (1 hr. $5 roundtrip) and then another cab ($5 round trip and 4 mins) to get there but it was SO WORTH IT and the MOST BEAUTIFUL beach I've ever been to Thanks!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

I was there for 12 days - various members of my family (including a 2 and 3 year-old) for parts of that time. The apartment was everything we hoped for and more. It was very, very clean, and very well equipped. The kitchen was particularly good - great appliances - everything you could think of. The bedrooms were spacious - a huge master bedroom - and the other bedrooms held the two double beds easily. Good mattresses on the bed The dining and living room were fine (could have used another dining table chair) - again - good furniture for a rental. The ESJ is a nice mix of hotel and apartment living. Hotel service and great security on the property. Towels for the beach & pool provided, fitness center, nice (if dated) lobby. Pool Bar and mini-mart enhance convenience. Taxis easily available. Good mix of people - seniors, young couples, families w/ kids. Good location, on the beach, next to 4-star hotels. Close to my favorite local restaurant - Platos. Rebeca is great to deal with. Straightforward, honest, and responsive. There was a bit of confusion when we arrived - but it was dealt with quickly, even though Rebeca was traveling - and she even sent her mother-in-law over to check that all was fine! I hope to return soon! IRecommended for: Tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

This was my sixth stay at a condo in Isla Verde. I found the place very clean and spacious. Although the ESJ Towers is showing its age, it is very well kept. The owner was very accomodating to our needs. A TV in the master bedroom would be a welcomed addition. The only thing I missed from my previous stays was a better panoramic view of the beach since this condo is in the second floor and the pool fence and palm trees block the beach view. Access to El San Juan Hotel & Casino entertainment was a plus.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The description of what was promised was not as accurate as expected. Some of the items in the apartment were not working properly, e.g., light fixtures, dishwasher, irons, AC, and broken bed. We were promised a clean, well maintained appartment. When we arrived I was dissapointed to find that we paid a cleaning fee that was not worth it, it was not as tidy as expected, the linens need upgrading, although there were plenty of sheets and towels throughtout the apartment. I had stayed at ESJ before and I did find this apartment better than the prior one. The owner Rebeca was accomodating as possible, very easy to work with and followed through when needed. We were EXTREMELY concerned about sending a great amount of money prior to our arrival and Rebeca reassured us that it was safe and gave us other payment options like PayPal. My recommendations to Rebeca are that her apartment needs an upgrade for example TV's in each bedroom, newer linens, and replace non-working appliances/amenities. She has a great three bedroom that accomodates 10 people very comfortably however when you have children you need to provide things to keep them busy. The pool was closed due to repairs for the first 6 days we were there and we felt we should have been notified prior to our arrival. We were given an option to use the pool at the El San Juan Casino, but it became a hassle when you had to keep showing ID. The activities and attractions in town are excellent. Parking was a plus, since most places charge a fee; It would have been great to have had two spots, but we couldn't complain for what was provided. My overall recommendation is that this apartment needs upgrading and with some changes it can be an great and affordable place to stay at. When reading my reviews, they are merely recomendations and not intended to disuade anyone from staying here. I think if Rebeca changes a few things, it will only add value to her property.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I would like to start by saying that Rebecca is a really great person to work with. She was on top of everything, very pleasant and made me feel comfortable considering we never met and I was sending her a great deal of money. The apt is beautiful, great location and huge it's just the way you see it on the website.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
