Villa Pavela is located on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, just north of Costa Rica and is a 7 minute drive south from San Juan del Sur, a popular resort and fishing town and just recently home base to the Survivor Nicaragua film crew.
Perched on a ridge, two minutes walking distance from the beach, Villa Pavela offers a calming view of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding hills (la cordillera). Designed by two Canadian architects, the house draws on the local Nicaraguan and Colonial Spanish tradition with its heavy white masonry walls, exposed roof beams, terra cotta floors, Spanish roof tiles, and caña ceilings. A more contemporary architectural vocabulary was used to express the natural beauty of fine cedar window screens and polished concrete counters studded with hand picked beach pebbles. An outdoor shower offers a quick refreshing wash for bodies and surf boards after a grueling day at the beach...
In an effort to reduce its ecological footprint, the house was built using local renewable and reusable building materials and was designed to take full advantage of natural ventilation for cooling purposes. The bedrooms however, are equipped with ceiling fans, just in case.... The house is fed both by rain water collected from the roofs and stored in an underground cistern and a well.
Through its outdoor living spaces the house fully engages our guests with the surrounding tropical environment. There is a private patio accessible from the master bedroom overlooking the cordilleras. The ceder screened windows of the hallway catch the breeze and filtered rays of the afternoon sun. The front covered terrace is a cool, shaded oasis where you can relax in traditional Nicaraguan rocking chairs or hammocks while enjoying the sweeping views of the Pacific ocean and jungle covered mountains to the north.
The master bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and includes an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a private shower, a double bed and a 3-person bunk bed. A separate powder room is accessible from the hallway. All bathrooms and the kitchen are serviced by on-demand water heaters.
The modern, fully-equipped kitchen overlooks the outdoor covered living space, which will most likely become your holiday headquarters during your stay at Villa Pavela. The kitchen features a large eating/working counter, hardwood dining table, 4-burner counter-mounted gas cook top, toaster oven, large refrigerator with freezer, coffee maker, toaster, blender and most importantly, the juice squeezer. All dishes, cutlery pots and pans are provided for your cooking enjoyment.
Free WiFi internet access is provided throughout the house.
Villa Pavela is maintained by a full-time maid and gardener. The couple live in separate quarters at the property. Daily house cleaning is included in the rental. Elisa is a fine cook and for an additional fee could prepare all of your meals.

We have just arrived back to snowy Canada and wanted to tell you that we had an absolutely fantastic time at your villa.It was one of the most relaxing holidays that we have had and that is mostly due to Eliza (the maid). We were only for 3 nights at Villa Pavela, But we should have booked longer! What a nice place. The house is comfortable and so complete. Its very clean and Eliza and her husband are very nice people. They are there to help with all your needs and still give you all the privacy in the world. The contact with Ela was very nice and thank you for responding everythime soo fast!

Great views of Remanso Bay, helpful and friendly caretakers - the place is always neat. I love the kitchen and the roll-up door that opens up to the lanai. We've stayed here with 4 folks and stayed here with 7 adults - it is comfortable and enough hammocks/chairs that everyone is comfortable. I'm sure we'll be back again.

Myself and my g/f's Nica Familia stayed at Villa Pavella 8 day's-we wished we could have never left! the OWnersand our transaction were smooth and super nice people! The Place-OMG..Outstanding..we luved the way the hosue was designed! it has everything you will ever need and more..the wind comes thru the house at the right place all day..the community is pvt and everone was very very nice the caretakers..Bueno Gente..highly recommend..we will be going back asap!

I just wanted to let you know we absolutely loved our stay at Villa Pavela. Nicaragua is a great place! We started most mornings with a quick swim at the beach. We took trips to Granada, Isla de Ometepe and went in to SJDS most days for supplies etc! Louis, the gardener, stopped by everyday for a chat, he is just lovely. My Spanish is very poor, but with his elaborate hand signals, we chatted for hours! Thanks again, we hope to return to Nicaragua one day and will let you know if we do - Elvina & Chris from Australia

Great experience! It was refreshing to spend some time away from the tourist traps for once. Me and my girlfriend stayed two weeks at Villa Pavela in February. The house itself is clean, cozy and has all furnishings you would hope for (beautiful modern kitchen as well) the beach was a minute away by foot and the sunsets were unforgetable. Again, much recomended to anyone looking for a true relaxing getaway!

Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed my time at Villa Pavela. With a great view of the ocean (and sunsets!) from the hammocks on the terrace, a fairly quiet beach only minutes away and the perfect surf for beginner surfers such as myself it truly was a fantastic place. Accomodations were clean and comfortable, the perfect place to relax after a hard day at the beach. ;) Highly recommend Villa Pavela, hope to return someday!
