Situated atop the Berkeley hills overlooking the San Francisco Bay, our home is a wonderful retreat just minutes away from the famous Berkeley Gourmet Ghetto, UC Berkeley Campus and the beautiful Tilden Park, the largest regional park in California. Our home is light and spacious with breathtaking, unobstructed views of San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, Marin and the Pacific Ocean. In the living room there are French doors opening onto a private courtyard with a hot tub and seasonal herb & vegetable garden. The courtyard is a wonderful place to enjoy meals during the warm summer months.
There are hardwood floors in the living room and dining room. The bedrooms have clean, new carpet, and there are large windows, skylights, and last but not least, a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath, with separate shower. The kitchen and bathrooms are all updated, clean, and fully equipped. The large backyard is beautifully landscaped with a lawn and a safe trampoline for the kids, and there are gorgeous unobstructed views of the SF Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, and Marin from the yard as well. The sunsets are spectacular!
Our home was designed by William Wurster, the famous architect who was known for his great use of space, large custom windows & doors, high ceilings, and great indoor/outdoor flow. The UC Berkeley School of Architecture is named after Mr. Wurster. Our home was built in 1929 and reflects the good craftsmanship of that era while having an elegant modern feeling.
We have 2 lovely cats who are quiet and unobtrusive. We will be traveling and would love to find responsible, clean tenants to stay here while we are away. House comes fully furnished with all amenities.

We have two children, an 11 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. We both teach yoga and Scott is also an Acupuncturist. Our home reflects our clean, zen lifestyle, and we put all our personal items in storage so that you will have a comfortable stay. All our past VRBO renters have loved the house.

Our home is so wonderful that you won't want to leave it. We are close to all activities yet it is quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. You will be awed by the changing sunsets each evening. If you enjoy walking, there are wonderful walks and paths to explore all around here as well. We are a five minute bus ride from downtown Berkeley and from the Metro which can take you all the way to SF without getting in a car!

My brothers and I and our families (5 little ones under the age of 7!) enjoyed every moment of our time in this beautiful, welcoming home. Communication with the homeowners was simple, and always very delightful. The home itself is absolutely gorgeous - the views amazing. The homeowners went out of their way to accommodate our specific family size and needs, instantly making us feel welcomed and right at home. They even left children books and toys for the little ones - such a special detail that helped us relax instantly. (My 3 year old still refers to the house as "our California home." I honestly cannot say enough about our overall experience. Simply lovely - highly recommended to all!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Thanks again for the use of the house. It was a perfect fit. One evening we had the whole crew all crowded around your big dining room table playing family games the kids brought. My son took a real liking to your big white couch and that became his bed for the week. The patio was great for morning coffee and we got lots of pictures all around the property. We felt like we were "natives" for our week and had a great time discovering Berkeley, San Francisco as well as the wine country and points south.
