We picked this property based on our "back and forth" emails with the owner. We could tell she was proud of her property, and was also very open and honest with her helpfulness during the rental process. We loved our stay at this property, and in the Normandy region of France. We did day trips from the house, often using the owners suggestions. We tried to eat in all of her favorite restaurants, but were only there 7 days. Each restaurant was better than the next, and all were great! The property itself was immaculate and very comfortable. There were 4 in our party, so we only used half of the bed room space. Bathrooms and showers were great. Kitchen was well equipped (but who wants to cook in France?) Internet access worked great. TV was great. Many English channels from across the English Channel. Highly recommend taking a drive around the "Calvados cider trail" to see the beautiful countryside and charming small towns and farms. The Tapestry of Bayonne was very worthwhile. The local Eugene Boudin art museum was very good. (he taught Monet to be a painter). Of course, the WWII Normandy landing beaches and museums were very moving. Great hone. Great vacation.

Close to the best Normandy has to offer. Honfluer has enough enjoyable sites to spend your entire time there, but you are close to all the WWII beaches, the Bayeaux tapestry, Mt. St. Michel, & on and on! The home is well located - an easy walk into town. 4 bedrooms on 2 levels, each with its own bath. A comfortable living room and well appointed kitchen. A perfect place to call 'home' while in Honfluer. Don't miss breakfast at the bottom of the hill/ramp - Travel's Coffee Shop. A lovely, friendly owner with croissants, pastries and cafe au lait! There is a very comprehensive information book with many good suggestions for restaurants and lots of reference books on the bookshelf! Josephine is very helpful via email - don't hesitate to ask questions before your stay. Highly recommended!

We have just had the most splendid family holiday in Honfleur and this was due in no small measure to this wonderful holiday property. The house itself is spacious, extremely comfortable, very well equipped and most delightfully presented, no doubt a reflection of the tastes of the owners. It is the sort of house that is quite difficult to leave behind at the end of the holiday!! The house is an easy 5 minutes walk from the town and is located up a steepish ramp, however this did not cause any problem for either the pensioners or a disabled lady in in our party. This was our first visit to Honfleur and no doubt we shall be back! By day the place is full of interest, particularly for those with an artistic bent. By night there are lots of bars and restaurants in the town, many in a most delightful position on the waterfront. Honfleur is well positioned as a base for discovering Normandy, with easy access to the bustling resorts such as Deauville and Trouville or the quieter inland villages which were so beautifully adorned with hanging baskets and delightful gardens. So, in summary, a wonderful family holiday made possible by this tremendous house in such a delightful location.

We had an absolutely wonderful couple of weeks in Honfleur in this lovely house which is so comfortable and welcoming. What a treat to walk into this pretty place which is clearly cared for and well maintained. Whether it was coming back from a long day of sightseeing or just walking up the hill from town, we could not have enjoyed it more. Our family of four adults and two teenagers had plenty of space in the four bedrooms, each with their own bath--an added plus. Great spacious kitchen for morning and evening gatherings. We truly loved the house, Honfleur and everything that went with it. I guess my only regret is that we didn't take it for a longer period of time. Several friends are already considering it for next year. The house, the beautiful town of Honfleur and all of Normandy were magical. We give it two thumbs up!

This is a wonderful house in a very charming town in Normandy. The house is delightfully French, nicely furnished with everything one would want in a home away from home. The house is perfectly clean and well maintained and very comfortable. The owner provided great information about the house as well as the area and possible places to visit. Restaurants, cafes, bakeries, shops and areas to walk or run are easily walkable. A hike up a nearby hill provides a beautiful view of Le Pont de Normandie bridge and the River Seine. Within the town there are many, many restaurants and of great variety. We used this as a base to visit the historic areas of Normandy beaches and discovered many additional nearby cities, including Rouen, Deauville and Bayeux. We found the towns people to be very friendly and welcoming. I would most definitely recommend this to friends or relatives and would return with other friends.

The owner was most helpful prior to our trip; she gave us good travel information regarding local restaurants and sights. We were well prepared and had a terrific vacation! The house is clean, well-maintained, and beautiful. Our group of seven ---two couples and 3 20-year-old daughters--had plenty of bedroom and living space. It was nice to have 4 bathrooms. We enjoyed the location tremendously. There is easy access to the DDay Beaches and the cider te in Pays D'Auge. The town itself is a lovely home base; there are many delicious restaurants in Honfleur and we enjoyed walking to them for dinner. I would highly recommend this house!

This is a lovely house, well equipped and in walking distance of the center, beaches and beautiful hikes. We had 4 people with plenty of space. The owner was responsive and easy to work with. One of our best meals was at a restaurant in town, LEndroit. We highly recommend this house and Honfleur.

We spend a very, very nice week in the beautiful house. The house is very comfortable and cosy. In the kitchen is every thing you need for your holidays. The bathrooms, the kitchen and all of the house were very clean. In front of the house is a little garden, where we spend every evening and from there is a very good view to Honfleur and the Pont of Normandie. The house is 5 Minutes away from the city, the restaurants, shops and supermarket. The restaurants in Honfleur are very cosy and the tips from The owner were very helpfull to find the best restaurants and shops. The owner was very friendly and helpfull. His good tips for excursions was also very helpfull for our successful stay. We were four adults and have had super holidays in Honfleur and we think  we come back to Honfleur to visit the House again. Kindly regards from Munich

We spent a lovely week in Honfleur at this charming house. We were surprised to have several bedrooms each with their own private bathroom -- something we didn't expect, but very very nice. We spent many wonderful evenings as a family lingering over home-cooked meals in the warm and spacious kitchen. We also enjoyed nightly appetizers and drinks in the front garden, enjoying the views of Honfleur below. We had a charming time at this home and hope to be back some day and see many of the other sites of Normandy we didn't have time for. Thoroughly enjoyed this house and our time in Honfleur and Normandy.

We have had a fabulous winter holiday this house and we loved Honfleur with all the Christmas lights. Located perfectly 5 minutes walk from the restaurants, harbour and shops including a great bakery. The house was very comfortable, light and airy with plenty of space for all of us. It was clean and tidy and the kitchen was well equipped for us all to dine in. The computer was very useful entertaining the children in the cold weather. A very relaxing and enjoyable break, thank you!

After doing a little research on the net we rented this house for a pre Christmas break / shopping trip and we were not disappointed. The house is excellent a real home from home and just minutes away from the centre of town. It is well decorated and equipped and very warm and welcoming on cold winters days. We thought with the time of year it may be a little quite in Honfleur but this was not the case. Most shops and restaurants were open and at the weekend the town is pleasantly busy. Before arriving we exchanged a number of emails with Josephine the owner and she was very helpful. We also received our security deposit back promptly and overall I only have positive thoughts about the whole experience. We will definitely consider returning in the future.

We spent family holidays in the wonderful house in Honfleur. The house was perfect for our family with three grown-up girls. Everybody had his own bathroom, we had fun eating together in the great kitchen or sitting in the living room, playing cards or talking. We loved to look at the "Pont de Normandie" at night and to stroll through the town early in the morning. Time passed to fast. And thanks a lot for using the internet! Hopefully we come again!!

We really enjoyed our stay in this house. It's in an excellent location, no more than 5 minutes walk to the Market Place in the centre of Honfleur. We spent a lot of the week in Honfleur itself - there is a reasonable amount to do in the town, and the beach is within walking distance. The house is very nice inside, much more spacious and with more modern fittings than the impression we got from the photographs. The kitchen is large and well-equipped and there are four bathrooms - one for each bedroom. Parking was always available outside on the slope up to the house, even though it was the middle of August, but it really is very steep and a little tricky to negotiate - some of our party preferred to park on the road below. The owner (Josephine) was a pleasure to deal with - payment was straightforward, there were no problems with anything in the house, and our deposit was returned within a fortnight of our return. I would recommend the house to anyone wanting to stay in Honfleur.

We spent a most enjoyable and relaxing week at this beautiful house. The arrangement of two bedrooms and two bathrooms on each of the upper floors was ideal for our party of two families. The house is very well equipped with tasteful furnishings, along with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The terrace at the front of the house is excellent for evening drinks and a barbecue. We took day trips to Pegasus Bridge and the Normandy Beaches, and our teenage children found these visits as interesting as we did. We also enjoyed golf at Saint-Gatien and canoeing down the river at Clecy.

We were 3 couples who all loved the house and had a great time there. The house is large comfortable and airy with lots of light and great views. It has a very well equiped kitchen with a large dining table though it lacks a dishwasher - but not much hardship when there are 6 of you. The house is well furnished and newly decorated. Great position for Honfleur only 5 mins walk to the harbour which is beautiful and full of places to eat. We had no difficulty finding a space to park on the ramp though it is very very steep and narrow ! The rear garden is also very steep and would benefit from a patio area with furniture although there is a small seating area at the front of the house. However this does not detract from it being a briliant house and if we return to Honfleur it will definitely be to Mont Joli.

We stayed at this beautiful home for two incredible weeks. It is just minutes by walking from the impossibly cute seaside village of Honfleur. The property is a lovely combination of 19th century charm and 21st century convenience. The owners provide an abundance of information on how best to enjoy the seemingly endless wonders of Honfleur and Normandy, recommending restaurants, day-trips, walkabouts and even where to do your laundry within walking distance. The house is impeccably clean and well-tended, and everything that we were led to understand about the property and the town from the owners' brochures and notes was accurate - and all of it was positive. The home is a great starting point for exploring Normandy, with its memorable sights even as far away as Mont St. Michel easily accessible within a short day trip by car. Coming home at night to this incredibly comfortable home - whether we had gone for a long drive or simply to see Honfleur - was always a treat. We were fortunate to have family visiting the area with us each of the two weeks we were there, and the large home with its multiple, modern bathrooms, beautiful and highly functional kitchen, charming bedrooms and comfortable living area easily accomodated eight of us at a time. Any of the restaurants lining the quay are great places to enjoy the beauty of Honfleur, but two restaurants in particular are worthy destinations for foodies: Vintage Cafe, which boasts eclectic, delicious offerings and live jazz music, and La Tortue, an intimate, charming restaurant with serious fare where our 11 year-old nevertheless had "the best hamburger ever". The kids will love walking around the quay at night and using up their Euros on the wonderful channel-side merry-go-round, which our 15 year old and her brother and cousins seemed to have an insatiable interest in riding. And don't miss the Saturday market in town, about which we were tipped off by the owner. Honfleur is truly special, and the experience of discovering it and much else in Normandy from this beautiful home made for a memorable vacation for all of us. You will find yourself planning to come back to this home after your first stay there is finished

My family and I spent a week in this house in mid March, 2009. It was absolutely perfect for our base to see some of the beauty of the area. Four lovely double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms was such a treat. Josephine has done a terrific job in renovating and decorating this beautiful house. The UK satelite TV was also very popular at night. The house has a well equipped kitchen, allowing us to breakfast and have most of our dinners at home after a big day out in the Normandy countryside. We ventured to Mont St Michel, Rouen, Deauville and the D-Day Beaches (Omaha - American Cemetry and Arromanches where the artificial harbour still in part is, were of particular interest). We don't have a favourite outing, because we enjoyed everything so much. Josephine was a joy to communicate with, always quick to respond to emails and very helpful with all our enquiries. She makes paying and accessing the house all very easy indeed. Honfleur was so much lovelier than we had anticipated and there are so many wonderful restaurants and shops, art galleries etc. Even going into the local boulagerie (bread shop) was an experience. The local grocery store, Champion, only 500m from "our" house was perfect for all our needs. Markets are held on Saturdays in Honfleur. Deauville which is only 15 mins from Honfleur has markets on a Friday. Honfleur's gardens by the water front are fantastic and the butterfly enclosure (Naturospace) worth a visit. Please note, the ramp is very steep and there is a spiral staircase in the house. My 80 year old father managed the ramp just fine, but we restricted our trips up and down the ramp for him to only once a day if possible. We were always able to get parking for both our cars on the ramp. We were able to walk everywhere in Honfleur from the house. It is on the top of the hill (Mont Joli) so it's downhill along lovely, windy, narrow cobble streets to the township, but only a minute or two. Very close to everything and yet a very quiet, peaceful spot. We all slept very well every night. The heating is very effective and there is ample hot water. All in all it was a most wonderful holiday stay in this great house. We have already recommended it to our friends. Really great for a family or a group of friends staying in Honfleur. So much nicer than staying in a hotel.

If you need a base to explore Normandy, Honfleur is the best choice and this lovely house is the place to sleep and relax.A fully equipped kitchen makes cooking a pleasure and the beds are very comfortable. The Rampe is a bit steep but at 80, I managed quite well several times a day. So many wonderful places to see and all an easy drive from Honfleur. The house is only minutes walking distance from the centre of town which is an exciting experience with its picturesque harbour and colourful shops. We were so pleased to have found this lovely home and will surely return to enjoy another super holiday.

We have stayed in this beautiful house three times and will be heading back to borrow it again in 2009. We love the house so much that we simply cannot stay elsewhere! The house is substantial with large rooms, four bedrooms, an excellent kitchen well-equipped with a large table for leisurely meals, high-end and antique furnishings, and four lovely modern bathrooms with an endless supply of hot water. Two refrigerators, a washing machine, and cable television for English viewers make this an ideal place to stay. The town hosts a multitude of fantastic restaurants, shops, adventures, an antique Carousel, is close to great beaches (especially Deauville where rain or shine you can have a good time), and Normandy itself offers many family-friendly sites to explore. If you like to cycle, bring your bicycle as the quiet roads and cautious drivers make it a great place to ride. Honfleur is an ideal and convenient for touring Normandy. Mme. Busch provides accurate essential information, promptly replies to emails, questions, and concerns, and carefully outlines the terms and conditions of the stay. She also offers personalized suggestions to questions, and the house contains many tourist brochures with further suggestions and commentary. Importantly, the house is very clean and well-maintained. The house is on a steep hill, but a slow walk and knowing the house you're heading to makes it worthwhile. This maison is truly a gem!

The home is lovely, on three floors with four bedrooms -- including a beautiful master bedroom -- and four modern bathrooms. The roses were in bloom on the front patio, where we barbecued at night, and we enjoyed relaxing in the shady area out back, set up with a small table and chairs. It was clean and comfortably furnished for a large group. The views are terrific, looking out over the town and the Normandy bridge. Be aware, however, that the walk up to the house is steep, and parking is on a very steep hill, unless you can find space on a street nearby. One member of our party with some health issues found the climb up the hill difficult. The home is a few minutes walk from the harbor and all the shops and restaurants. We also used it as a base for exploring Normandy -- Mont St. Michel, Bayeux, Caen and the D-Day beaches are all within easy driving distance. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it highly. "
