It was VERY pretty and we had great weather!! The only thing is, it was not a TRUE ski in ski out. You had to take a lot of chair lifts and and there is even one part where you had to take off your skis and walk up a bunch of stairs then take a long catwalk. But overall great!!

Skyhaus is a beautiful place, a pristine view of Lone Mountain from both the master suite and the main level living area. It accommodated us at 13 people (four of them children). The game room is the perfect place for the children to hang out and play games or watch movies. the mud room was awesome with all of the wet ski gear we had and the hot tub and built in icemachine were both welcoming after a long day of skiing. Skyhuas is a must!

WOW! Big Sky and Sky Haus were spectacular! Truly a breathtaking experience for all. Accomodations and service were world class. Ski-in/ski-out was convenient and the views of Lone Peak from Sky Haus were awe inspiring. The jacuzzi and steam showers melt away all your troubles. Take a trip to nearby Yellowstone and be sure to visit the magnificent Moonlight Basin Lodge down the road. I highly recommend Sky Haus and hope to return someday soon...

Had a great time, and thanks for the memories... Each year our group takes a ski trip to a different location, and this year we selected Big Sky. We have been fortunate to stay in some nice rental properties in the past, and this year was no exception. We found Sky Haus to be very roomy for our group of 6, very clean and well maintained, and also extremely well stocked. We cook/grilled out for 3 of the nights and had everything that we needed at our finger tips. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a full day of skiing and the steam showers were very nice as well. I especially enjoyed the spectacular view of Lone Peak, as the sun came up each morning. The property owner made sure that everything was prepared for us, and even called after our arrival just to be certain. I would recommend staying at Sky Haus, and several members of our group plan to return with their families in the future. The property location made it very convenient and accessible to both Big Sky and Moonlight Basin. As for venturing out, we did have dinner at Choppers one night and found the food to be quite good. It was reasonably priced and had a wide variety. They also have quite a selection of beer and wines. The only other suggestion that I would have to future guests is that they may want to consider loading up on groceries in Bozeman, as prices and selections are better than what we found once we were closer to the ski resort.
Owner response:Thanks Wayne! Is was great to have you folks out there to enjoy the fresh mountain air, incredible skiing and spectacular views as evidenced by your photos of sunrise on Lone Peak! The hot tub and steam showers are always favorites of the guests. DeAnna

We had a group of 8 men stay here for 4 days of skiing at Big Sky. We all enjoyed the accomodations- plenty of beds and room to spread out. The home is gorgeous, well-maintained and the hot tub was a great way to finish our day of skiing. We even got 8 inches of fresh powder for our first day of skiing- not sure how the owners arranged that:] I would definitely recommend this to everyone and I hope to make it back to Big Sky in the future!
Owner response:Thanks, Del. Super glad that you had a great time...regarding the fresh powder: we're good, but not that good! :) De Brandt

Our family of 4 and a close family friend have just returned home after spending a week in beautiful Big Sky at Skyhaus. The home was as nice as shown on the website, and the spectacular morning views get every day off to a perfect start. We all boarded/skied four out of five days, with two beginner boarders (12 & 14) and one adult new to skiing. All picked it up well and most were skiing tough blue runs by the end of the week. We really enjoyed our full day snow cat tour in yellowstone - lots of animals and beautiful canyon views. We also had a nice night out at lone mountain ranch and their sleigh ride dinner. Deanna was very helpful in preparing us for our trip and was glad to answer all of our questions. In summary - we stayed at a great house with a great owner, the perfect skiing location with no lift lines, and returned home with many special memories that will last a lifetime!
Owner response:Steve, so glad you enjoyed your stay here at SkyHaus, especially with your newly healed broken foot! You brought out the great powder, 18"+ in the last few days, this is a great start to a great ski season...email me a photo of your experience out here and I'll post it on my upcoming Sky Haus FaceBook page (anonymously, of course). Warmly, DeAnna

We loved staying at SkyHaus. The house was amazing, the view amazing and the area can't be beat. The accommodations from the linens to the spices to the fireplace to the hot tub and speakers were all top-notch. Kitchen and bathrooms awesome. And so many things to do. Four couples (sisters and husbands) each had their own bathroom and plenty of room. Recommend it wholeheartedly!

From our HomeAway website: We loved the spaciousness of the cabin. It was a wonderful place to hold a mini family reunion! My family is into wildlife and there was a lot of it. We were even visited by a small black bear! We didn't eat out when we were there. We enjoyed the great kitchen to it's fullest extent. I would recommend taking advantage of all the available tours, especially the whitewater rafting! If we get the chance to make a trip back to Montana you definitely will hear from us again! Thanks so Much!! The Lovdahl Clan RATED 5 of 5

We had a great time at SkyHaus. We could have sat on the deck enjoying the view the entire trip, but we didn't. A mama moose and baby moose greeted us when we arrived at the house. We went on hikes, enjoyed the festivities in town for the 4th of July, did some fly fishing, explored Bozeman, golfed. It was a great vacation!!

From the Comments on our HomeAway website: This home was beautiful, well-stocked and clean. The view of Lone Peak was stunning. The best part was working with the owner of this home. She was extremely helpful in helping us prepare for our stay at Big Sky and making sure all our needs were met. The house was set-up beautifully for skiing with the trail going right by the house and lots of ski storage in the garage and laundry room. The only negative was the altitude. We didn't realize my husband would have trouble living at 8000 feet. Overall, though, we would highly recommend this home.

When we drove up from Bozeman (a relatively easy drive by sky resort standards), it was late so we went right to bed. The view that we woke up to in the morning were nothing short of breathing and Skyhaus itself was even better than we had expected. It is very roomy but with a warm cozy feel. The design of the house is perfect for large groups but also very nice for a smaller group like we had. The outdoor hot tub was great but the steam shower was my favorite. The kitchen was so nice that it prompted a cooking competition between the guys that we will be talking about for many ski trips to come. We ate every meal in and only went into town once to buy more groceries. The stand alone ice maker was perfect for icing an acl (knee) injury at night. The nearly perfect accomadations in nearly perfect Big Sky were equaled by the attention to detail and care shown to us by De Brandt and family. We are all looking forward to our next opportunity to stay at Skyhaus. Thanks to the Brandt family for sharing your wonderfull vacation home. Steve Raymond and gang

We would like to thank the Brandt family for opening their home to us for our stay in Big Sky. We have a large group that skis together every year for the last 9 years and we have skied all over North America. The universal response from our group was that the Skyhaus was the nicest accomodations we have had since we started! The steam showers were a huge hit and the views were spectacular. I would recommend Skyhaus to anyone that is looking for a fantastic family or group vacation rental.

The 7 of us had a wonderful time. We would like to thank the Brandt Family for sharing your lovely home with us, and for the "welcome" basket full of native Montana goodies. We have skied all over the world, and stayed in many homes; but, without a doubt, this was one of the best. The home was designed to accommodate a large group, so we had plenty of room to spread out. The gourmet kitchen was fantastic, and had everything we needed. We ate all but one meal at the house, and it worked out perfectly. We love the wine refrigerator, separate ice making unit, the "hot shot" spigot at the kitchen sink, as well as your spice drawer. The steam showers and Hot Tub, which are a must for apres skiing, helped to relax those sore and aching muscles. The heated garage with the ski racks and boot warmers came in handly; and the inside ski lockers for all your ski clothes are amenities that only a skier would appreciate. The views from the house are just magnificent. You look out the front at Lone Peak, and you can see the tram going up the mountain and the skiers coming down. Out the back windows you can watch for your skiers on their way home. You just ski right down to the garage, take off your skies, and head inside for a little wine and cheese. What a day! The skiing was excellent. No lift lines and lots of mountain to ski. We had a winter storm dump plenty of snow while we were there, which made for fun powder skiing. What more could you ask for? We highly recommend the Grand Canyon tour of Yellowstone and the sleigh ride dinner at Lone Mountain Ranch. In case you can't tell, we loved the house and the entire area. We would like to return in the summer to see what lies beneath all that snow. The Siefert Group from Ohio/Florida/Washington DC

We shared the beautiful and wonderfully appointed Big Sky Haus with two other families in July of 2008 and everyone was more than comfortable. The accommodations were exceptional and the views spectacular. And the air! Words can't describe the clear blue skies and fresh air. We even had the pleasure of several back-yard visits from a mom and baby moose several mornings! Hiking in the area was awesome. We hiked Ousel Falls, Lava Lake and part of Cinnamon Ridge. We also spent a few days in Yellowstone (I'd suggest getting your park pass in advance to save time waiting at the entrance) seeing many of the major tourist spots and hiking the South Rim of the Canyon. We recommend getting an early start and doing some "back-country" hiking to really experience God's handiwork....Yellowstone National Park....and allow yourself more time than you think you need because there is so much to see and enjoy. White Water rafting Gallatin Canyon (about 25 minutes from Sky Haus) was an absolute blast as well. Suffice to say....we totally enjoyed our time here. We played outside all day and enjoyed great meals and fellowship each evening. It was one of the best vacations our family ever had, and are very grateful to the Brandt's for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home. Bonnie Gasper

What a treat it was to stay this summer at beautiful Sky Haus. We met several family members for a mini-reunion and just had a ball! My expectations were blown away when we arrived and saw that the house was more spectacular, larger than the photos presented, beautifully decorated, and set in a jaw dropping location! We loved each aspect of the house, from the open kitchen and all it’s amenities ( handy separate ice maker !) to the downstairs retreat which several teenagers enjoyed as they watched movies and played guitars, to the outdoor Jacuzzi we soaked in each day, and the leather card table in the living room where grandpa beat everyone at cribbage! It was peaceful to sit out on the front deck and look towards Lone Mountain and take in all the beauty. One afternoon, we watched as thunderheads came in and lightening streaked the sky. We did worry a bit about the group playing ultimate Frisbee on the mountain’s ski slopes but they were rescued to safety by a friendly resort employee! We enjoyed white water rafting on the Gallatin, horseback riding through the mountains, two days of golfing and even a free bluegrass festival in town! We left wanting to return and hope we have the opportunity someday! Thank you Brandts for sharing your home! Fondly,Laura Bell

Dear Brandt Family,We just wanted to write and tell you what a wonderful time we had at your "Sky Haus"!! Where do we begin....there is so much to write about. First of all, the house itself is beautiful....from the absolutely gorgeous views out the windows right down to the lush amenities .... It was the fine details that made your house feel so homey...the luxurious towels, the wonderful assortment of spices, high end cooking utensils, clean beautiful furniture, comfortable beds with crisp, fresh bedding, etc. etc....The layout of the house was so functional it offered places of solitude along with areas for activities at the same time – important for our large group. Everything there made for a comfortable and relaxing time. The in and out skiing was convenient. Your huge yard was just as inviting and entertaining for our kids as the slopes. They loved spending hours building snow forts, snow furniture, and jumps that rivaled the terrain park on the ski hill!We have enjoyed skiing Colorado every year but Montana was a pleasant new discovery...no lift lines...uncrowded...at least for now (let's keep it a secret!). It was nice to have the choice of skiing either or both Big Sky and/or Moonlight Basin (we liked the uniqueness of both). The spa at Moonlight was exceptional. There were so many activities and attractions to choose from and we did partake in quite a few (like a horse drawn sleigh ride with dinner "Montana style") however it was hard to leave "the Haus" which offered us much needed relaxation and beauty. I've been a flight attendant for over two decades and our family has enjoyed traveling the world and experiencing beautiful places....this met and exceeded our expectations! Can't wait to return this July to experience summer adventures in Big Sky at Sky Haus! The Coleman'sJud JoEllen Josten Joseph Jackson and Jeffrey

When we first arrived at Sky Haus, we were immediately struck by the spacious family room and magnificent views. We were mesmerized by the snow laden pine trees and the head-on view of the ski mountain. It was like a beautiful picture - only we were there in person! We enjoyed having room to sprawl out, yet also felt the cozy charm and warmth of a home that had been lovingly and artistically decorated. My husband and I stayed in one of two master suites which included our own bathroom. The room was light and roomy with a large closet and ample storage - and, of course, more great views! Our family ate in a lot and so we were thrilled to have such a well laid out and equipped, gourmet kitchen - complete with every spice you have ever heard of and then some! I even took measurements and noted the layout because I would love to replicate it - everything was so convenient and accessible. There was great working space, and it made meal time run so smoothly to set all the food out buffet style to serve up, and then go sit down at the eating bar or table. We loved the hot water spigot that allowed us to make hot chocolate or tea at a moment's notice. I never got tired of "hanging out at home", but didn't want to miss out on all the fun winter activities available either. Our family enjoyed downhill skiing and snowboarding - leaving on skiis or snow board right from Sky Haus. We also ventured out on a cross country ski outing that included magnificently groomed trails winding through gorgeous vistas. Our hike to Ousel Falls was yet another unique adventure, hiking down along a stream to a frozen wonderland of ice and beauty. We never lacked for things to do; my oldest son, now in his early 20's, said this was the most fun he had had in the snow - ever! We really wouldn't have had to go any farther than the backyard, where our four kids spent hours in the waist deep snow, making snow forts and building jumps to see how much "air" they could get off their snowboards. It made for some great Kodak moments! Our family loves to play games and evenings were often spent by the fire in lively competitions or in hilarious episodes of Balderdash - we laughed so hard it hurt (or was that from all our skiing...?) Needless to say, we all hated to leave - the week went by way too fast, but will long remain in our memories as one incredibly-enjoyable family vacation. - Jessy Olson
