This riverfront cottage overlooks the Southwest River. Here you are able to enjoy the panoramic views from any of the three decks, walks along the beach, a game of horseshoes, a swim in the salt water pool, or relax in the two person jacuzzi tub.
It is just minutes away from Burlington go-carts, Woodleigh Replicas, Cavendish Beach tourist area, golf courses, restaurants, shopping, Thunder Cove Beach and Cabot Beach. It is perfectly located for day trips anywhere.
A spacious bedroom with a walk in closet is located on the main floor with a queen size bed. Upstairs has two bedrooms; one with a queen bed while the other comes equipped with bunk beds (futon on bottom) and a double bed. In addition, there is a cot available for extra members of your crew. On the main floor the bathroom has a two person Jacuzzi tub as well as a stand up shower. Upstairs there is a half bath.
The kitchen downstairs comes fully equipped with all the amenities you might need. Or barbecue on the deck while watching an unforgettable sunset.
If the weather keeps you inside there is still lots to do; sit by the propane fireplace and curl up with a good book or sit back and enjoy the television equipped with satellite and a VCR/DVD player.
Leave your busy lifestyles behind while you relax on the wrap around deck with its own private pool. Take in the ocean air and realize all you need to worry about is what fresh seafood you want to purchase for supper at the local harbor. Leave the rest to us...

Peak Season .. June 25 - Sept 10 .. $2,400/wk .. Saturday to Saturday
Month of June, September and October.. $1,750/wk (Pool is not heated)
A deposit of 50% confirms your reservation payable by money order or personal
cheque. This deposit must be received within 10 days to confirm the reservation.
A $500 CASH deposit is required at the time of check-in and will be returned at
check out if there has been no damage to the property. If your cancellation is
made 60 days prior to arrival then no penalty will incur and the full deposit
is refunded. If cancellation is made after these 60 days then 50% is refundable.

Wow! what a beautiful, peaceful getaway. Complete relaxation from sunrise to sunset. My husband and four boys were truly impressed with all An Island Escape offered us. We were welcomed by friendliness and helpfulness by the cottage keeper when arriving. The cottage is breath taking both in and out. Amazingly clean.Extremely spacious. Everything Is there, beautiful rooms, full kitchen, relaxing living room area, ohhhh the hot tub! Coffee on the upstairs deck in the morning before the kids wake with the warm sun on your face.Hours of entertainment for the kids either in the pool(which is well gated for safety of small children), playing football on their very spacious lot, making sandcastles and picking shells on the beach, kayaking on Long River, picking a movie out of their library, or making smorer's on the fire pit after dark. The kids didn't want to leave. And neither did mom and dad after laying by the pool(which is salt water and highly maintained), Durring the day and fire place at night. An Island Escape is also only a half hour away from shopping(shopping at Charlottetown waterfront), dinner(The Homeplace Inn in Kensington, Delicious food), and a movie or live theater(Brothers Two Feasts in Summerside), night clubs(The Globe, Hunter,s Ale House, located in Charlottetown), and only 10 mins. to run for groceries.You have tons of options whether your a family of young children or teenagers vacationing, or a bunch of girls vacationing, or guys looking for a golf getaway(Glasgow Hills or Eagles Glenn. Spectacular courses only 15 mins. away), or a romantic couple getaway.We felt so rejuvenated when we left. You won't want to leave An Island Escape!

Great holiday at An Island Escape

We had an amazing holiday in PEI - and really enjoyed our stay at "An Island Escape". It is a very well maintained home with everything you need for your holiday. The pool is beautiful - we were in it everyday. My kids (age 4 and 6) loved it. There is a very large lawn area for running around and playing games. The home is very safe for children (pool well gated). The location is ideal. It is a 10 to 25 minute drive to anything you need (grocery stores, restaurants, beaches, Cavendish attractions). Our best find was the Cabot Beach - very close, not very busy, amenities like washrooms, and no fee required to enter park. We walked along the beach for less than 10 minutes and were completely alone. Shallow and sandy for a long time - great for small kids. Nearby to that beach is the Malpeque Oyster Barn - GREAT food. We also had a great meal at New London Seafood Restaurant not far from the cottage. The pub in Kensington had reasonable food with great service. The trip to Summerside to see the "Highland Storm" show was also well worth the drive. A great holiday - at a wonderful home. The owner's aunt who cleans the cottage and checks you in and out was very friendly and helpful. She keeps the home in great shape and is available for quesions if needed. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

We rent several cottages a year because we have a business and it's our only way to get away and really be on vacation. This is our second time at "An Island Escape" and we returned because we loved it the first time. Several advantages: really clean place, nice pool, spacious cottage, kids bedroom, internet, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher (really nice on vacation!!!), proximity to Cavendish tourist area and Summerside and i think the most important criteria, peace and quiet... neighbors are almost invisible so you can really relax and enjoy your stay!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.
