These cozy accommodations, approximately 1300 S.F. in size, are located in the Birch Building of Outrun Condominiums on the top (3rd) floor. The main living area features spacious ceiling heights, large sliding glass doorwalls/windows, and a balcony, giving you spectacular views out to the mountain’s ski area. The views are great in the evenings, as well, when you can watch the “cats” grooming the trails for the next morning by following the movement of their lights. And the sunrises in the mornings are gorgeous!
The condo's main living area has a rustic western feel, with large beams running vertically and horizontally throughout. And for your enjoyment, after a COLD day of skiing, you can make a good old-fashioned REAL fire in the wood-burning fireplace (firewood is provided). If you're looking for a good read in your spare time, check out the selections in our small library. And, of course you can catch your favorite shows, a movie, the news, music ... your choice ... on the provided TV (with cable), DVD/VCR player, and/or tuner (radio). The loft is situated above this area, with a full-size bed for extra sleeping space. (Great for the kids; "headspace" is limited for full-size adults!) Our unit is unique in that we have an actual stairway and “catwalk” that goes up to the loft (as opposed to some of the other units with only a “straight up” ladder for access.)
The foyer area, just inside the front door, is outfitted with a custom built bench with lots of cubbies - very handy for getting into those final pieces of ski gear, and for storing all of the hats, gloves, goggles, etc., etc., after you’re done for the day! There's also a ski locker just outside of the entry door - convenient for storing your ski equipment if you'd rather not bring it inside the condo.
Whether you feel like doing some "real" cooking or just grabbing a quick breakfast, the kitchen is equipped to meet your needs. And for eating in, the dining area (which adjoins the main living area) comfortably seats 8 and is furnished with a western-style table, chairs, and benches. An antler chandelier hangs overhead, giving you another dose of that western feel! If you have a larger party, two more people can be accommodated at the adjacent eating counter on a pair of unique cowhide/hair stools.
The 3 bedrooms consist of a Master with private bath; and 2 additional bedrooms, each with Queen-size beds and sharing a roomy hall bath (nice-sized counter top and lots of drawers). The Master Bedroom has a King-sized aspen log bed; a TV/VCR with cable; and a private back deck looking out over the community hot tub. All three bedrooms are outfitted with warm blankets and custom-made quilts/bedding. Including the loft in the living area, the condo can sleep 8 people comfortably.
A full-sized washer and dryer are conveniently located adjacent to the 3 bedrooms - so it’s simple to get all of your ski gear ready to go for the next day. (No need to overpack!)
During your stay, you can use the private garage located on the ground floor for dry/warm storage of your vehicle; it's also a great place to stow skis, snowboards, luggage, boots, etc. (Additional firewood is stored in the garage.) Extra parking is available outside the garage and to the side of the condo.
The exteriors of the buildings in the complex were completely renovated in 2007, with new and updated roofs, decks, garage doors, siding, and windows installed. Part of the project included providing a brand new outdoor hot tub for residents and guests, and this amenity is located directly behind our building. The hot tub is a GREAT place to gather with family/friends after a day of skiing; it's definitely a part of the overall ski experience that WE look forward to! For your convenience, there is a small building, also newly renovated, located next to the outdoor hot tub for showering and changing.
You can take a short walk to reach the ticket window and ski lifts … but the convenience of the complementary shuttle, which stops directly in front of our building every 15 to 20 minutes, makes that decision an easy one! And in the evenings, or on a day when you decide to take a break from skiing, you can take the shuttle to the base area and then pick up the town shuttle from there. There certainly are LOTS of great dining options and unique shops to be explored in the town of Crested Butte!
There is NO SMOKING in the condo, the building hallways or on the decks. Our association does not allow pets to accompany our guests. The residents in the area do appreciate observance of “Quiet Hours” after 10 p.m.

Why the Owner Chose Mt. Crested Butte
We love the quaint small mining town feel, and the friendliness of the people. It's a down-to-earth resort with great skiing and hiking!
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
We love the hot tub right behind our building, and truly enjoy being able to make a REAL fire in our log-burning fireplace! The ski area shuttle bus stops every 15 to 20 minutes right in front of our door, making it VERY easy to get to the resort and get on with the day. And the view out our front windows is spectacular!!

We had an excellent stay in Crested Butte. The accommodations worked great for our family. We ate some meals in and were able to fix them there in the kitchen, watched Olympics in the family room with the fire blazing, had comfortable beds on which to rest at night, and easy transportation with the bus stopping right out front. We enjoyed taking the ski lift to the top of the mountain, taking the trail half-way down and playing Frisbee golf the rest of the way down, rode our ATV’s 3 different days on some great trails near Slate River, Washington Pass and Taylor Creek, rode horses a couple of times, went white water rafting, learned to fly fish, shopped a bit, rented a pontoon on Taylor Lake and golfed a couple of rounds at Dos Rios. (As you can see, we didn’t let any grass grow under our feet!) Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your condo. We are already talking about a return visit next summer.

I can't believe that we have been home a week already!! Sure doesn't seem like it was a week ago that we were enjoying your wonderful condo and the terrific snow. We all want to thank you for allowing us spend a week in your spot of Heaven. Thanks for sharing with us. The snow was unbelieveable and the sking couldn't have been any better. Of course the restaurants were great too. We had such a blast! It is a week that we will all remember for years to come. Although the drive home was very long, we made it safe and sound. Your condo offered everything we needed. Also wanted you to know that the people in Crested Butte couldn't have been nicer. Everyone on the mountain was very helpful and kind. We enjoyed every minute!
