This is a beautiful post and beam custom built cape with screen porch and deck. This year round home was built in 2002. The house is nicely landscaped. Master bedroom has a king-sized bed. Second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and third Bed room has a full bed and bunk beds. There are three full baths.
There is a finished walk out basement with play area and pullout queen size bed, cable TV and full bathroom. The outdoor shower is great for sand removal after the beach.
There is a swimming cove with swim float, association dock with float, and mooring available. Lobstermen can be seen hauling their traps from the porch. The kayak is great for a seals-eye view.
Boothbay Harbor is a 5 minute drive. There are many restaurants, shops, and galleries. Anything else you may need is close by.

I wasn't going to write a review until the owners decided to keep $200.00 of the deposit because we left late...at noon instead of 10 am. But, the reason- the cleaning people were late to show up so I did 2 loads of laundry (sheets and towels) to help them out...Little did I know I would be penalized! All of our luggage was out, but I had left some food in the fridge and was going to give it to the cleaning people. Believe me, we left the house cleaner than what it was when we first got there. Upon arrival there was dog hair everywhere, muddy sneakers on the back porch, filthy windows (hand prints) through out (the owners had just been there with their dog and kids and maybe didn't feel the need to clean up before the paying guests showed up). We cleaned the windows and swept all the floors. I was a littled shocked also by the fact that the refrigerator wasn't even wiped down. The beds weren't made and the semi folded sheets on one queen bed were twin sized. Luckily, we had our own sheets and used those. We never did find queen sheets. You would think the beds would be made or at least the appropriate sized sheets would be available.These are simple but very important details that the owners really should address. The whole house was extremely hot and we had to go out and buy large fans just to cool the place down. Granted, we were there in July, but the owners should provide at least a couple of fans for the guest to use on warm nights. We ended up leaving a large fan so the next guests would be able to sleep at night. As for maintenance, there was a big leak under the kitchen sink that we fixed...easy, but what a mess. The drain pipe wasn't attached at all. How long had that been leaking? Also,The wifi keep turning itself off and we had to reset it at least twice a day. Waterfront, yes, close to the water, no. The access/ beach area is a 5 minute walk..(lugging all your stuff). The beach was quaint, but don't think this house is "on" the water. It isn't. We had a good time in Boothbay, but we won't return here. The owners should go out and rent some properties to see how great rentals are run. For instance, they have a sheet of instructions on the fridge with the heading "RENTERS"....perhaps they should re-think that and have it say..".Welcome Guests"....makes a big difference to the overall experience. With the filthy condition of the house and the instruction sheet, we never did feel welcome. Keep the $200, get some fans.
