Healoha Hale is just what its name implies, "a beloved home." Decorated as a home, not a rental; it will feel like home the minute you walk in!
The waves of Aliomanu Bay are tamed by an off-shore reef so swimming can always be enjoyed while the song of the surf and the off-shore breezes will relax you and cool this incredible planter-style home.
The house consists of a great room with 20+ foot ceilings done in beautiful dark wood and open beams. This is the heart of the house where the extensively appointed kitchen and large dining area will accent the family fun around the comfortable furnishings of living and sitting areas. We are trying to meet our guests' every need and have arranged this lovely home so that it is more "flexible" to those needs. We now offer the house as a one bedroom, renting the master suite with the kitchen, "great room," and all other amenities but locking off the two additional bedroom and bathrooms. We can also rent it as a two bedroom (you choose which bedroom you prefer). You pay only for the amount of house you need! THis offer applies only September - May. Only full house rentals for our peak season of June through Labor Day. See rate schedule for additional information.
Appropriately themed art work throughout the house adds to the "aloha" feeling. To one side of the great room you will find the sumptuous master suite decorated in jewel tones to accent the rich wood of the ceilings.
There is a glass block trimmed, double-sink bathroom en suite with a tub so deep you will have to struggle to keep your book dry! The king-size, Tempur-pedic mattress will sooth you at night as you lie in bed enjoying the moonrise through the sliding glass doors to the lanai.
On the other side of the great room, the front bedroom boasts a queen-size bed with a new, top-end mattress. Sunrise and moon rise and ocean view also available from this comfortable room.
Between it and the back bedroom, another full bath provides the second deep, soaking tub.
The third bedroom has a pair of twin beds and is decorated with posters from the many movies filmed on Kauai. This bedroom also has a bath en suite with a large, walk-in shower.
The large lanai stretches across the front of the house and provides a magnificent view of the ocean and whales in season. The wonderful landscaping provides privacy from this secluded beach and there is a gate to the sandy oceanfront, less than 80 feet from the door!
The yard of Healoha Hale is a tropical park. Seems like something is always in bloom from the huge plumeria to orchids and many exotic palms.
From the street side, you have wonderful views of the Anahola mountains, a nice lawn for bocci ball and a peaceful place to barbecue.
There are two outside showers for after swimming or just for fun. One is a custom-built lava rock shower and both have hot and cold water.
Healoha Hale is a short drive to Kapa'a where restaurants, groceries, shopping are readily available. It is less than a 30 minute drive to the airport and conveniently located to drive north to the Hanalei area or south towards Poipu.
The owners rented homes on Kauai for many years before settling on this wonderful location and unsurpassed home. They knew that this was "the one" as soon as they saw it and they think you will agree! Mahalo!
LATE BREAKING NEWS! In the August 2009 Sunset Magazine, Aliomanu Beach was one of the Top 10 reader-picked beaches. It was the only beach in Hawaii chosen.

Wonderfully private beachfront house near Anahola

This was the most beautiful and relaxing house that my husband and I have ever found in a beachfront setting! The listing description and pictures do not even do justice to how wonderful the property is. We were steps from the ocean and could hear the waves every night through our open windows; the sunrise was magnificent each morning as the property faces due east. The house was perfectly maintained and extremely clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend this beach home to anyone. It is perfect for all ages!
Owner response:THank you for the great review. This is certainly how we feel about our house and we appreciate your putting it into words for us. THough we have owned the house for quite a few years; we never arrive for our respites there without feeling the beauty and relaxing powers of Healoha Hale. Pictures can't capture it. We work hard to keep it maintained (not an easy task so close to the ocean!) and are glad you enjoyed it!

I just returned with my family of 5 from a lovely stay at Healoha Hale. The home and the setting were every bit as beautiful as the photos promise. The beach, just steps from the porch, was great for snorkeling, boogie-boarding, swimming and walking. The stretch of bay where the house is located is very quiet, and the house and gardens very private, with the exception of the occasional chicken or gecko. The home is beautifully appointed and very clean. I loved cooking in the expansive kitchen while looking out at the ocean, and going to sleep to the sound of the waves. The house is very well stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, cooler, kitchen items, books and games. We all (my husband, myself and kids ranging from 11-19) loved our stay and hope to return some day!

We rented this home last fall and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful, extremely well appointed, private and super clean ( the pictures don't do it justice), the beach is at your door step and there is every amenity you could wish for, even boogy boards!!! The home is centrally located to restaurants, site seeing, beaches etc. There were 4 of us , but you could easily have 6 people, the house is that big!!! We had a wonderful time!!!!

This place is fantastic. The ocean is so close, the pictures don't really show the distance. Even though the beach is close, the yard is very private. The amenities that come with the house are wonderful. Great water toys and wonderful chairs and towels to use when not in the water. The house is close to town if one needs to go to the grocery store or other shopping in the great shops. Just a marvelous place to spend a week or two. I was there in March and the weather was nice and warm. We didn't have rain but there are plenty of books, games and movies to watch if it is rainy. Great resources available about the island and places to visit. I would recommend it to couples or families. The room arrangement is perfect for 6 people. The kitchen and dining area lends itself to many people working and/or talking while fixing meals.

This beautiful home is worth every penny of it's weekly rental. My stay, in March of 2008, was magical. From enjoying the spectacular sunrises, to the beach walks, to the body surfing and snorkeling, the activities within reach of this beautiful home are amazing. It was also fun to walk the mile or so to the local burger joint and enjoy one of the best burgers I've ever had. My favorite "activity" was showering in the very private lava rock outdoor shower. It was there that I felt the true meaning of island paradise. Staying in this very private home made my first vacation on Kaua'i so special. It's also nice that everything on the island is easily reached in a day and we enjoyed many of it's amenities during our stay: tubing the old sugar cane irrigation ditch; happy hour in Poipu; touring Waimea Canyon; enjoying the beaches on the east and north side and touring the charming art towns of Hanalei and Hanapepe. Kaua'i is a magical island and Healoha Hale helps make your stay in paradise absolute perfection.
