A contemporary oceanfront cottage with open views from every room to the east and offshore islands, the house has 2 bedrooms (one with a king and one with 2 singles), each with its own full bathroom. In addition, there is an enclosed loft with 3 single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living room has a woodstove and there is a propane heater in the back hall to take the chill off a spring or fall evening. Picture windows throughout the house add to the sense of expansiveness.
The spacious deck is an ideal spot from which to watch lobstermen work their trade and other boats heading up Penbscot Bay or turning into Tenants Harbor. The lower deck at the edge of the lawn offers a closer connection to the water and rocky coastline. In addition, there is a path and steps leading down to a rock beach in front of the house.
Included in the rental, there is a clay court for tennis players and, for those who like to swim or spend time watching harbor activity, there is a dock. Both are a short walk from the house.
A cozy cottage in a private location with a breathtaking view of Maine's bold rocks and open sea, guests every year leave notes commenting on the beauty and quiet character of the house and the ocean setting.
