Boating, snowmobiling and horseback riding are available just 1 mile from the home. While hiking, biking, and other summer activities are all easily accessible. Only 3 miles from the world class skiing of Heavenly and world renowned entertainment venues and casinos of South Lake Tahoe and Stateline.
The large decks that surround this house take full advantage of the stellar lake and mountain views. One of the few lake view homes that when you look out your window there are no other homes in sight, only Lake Tahoe and the mountains. Relax in the large hot tub overlooking Zephyr Cove beach, or hide away and turn on the gas fireplace that shines over the whirlpool bath tub in the master bathroom. Large garage has room for 3 cars + workshop and 1/2 bath. This home has been updated with Travertine flooring in the kitchen, dining, entry, and baths. Mahogany Laminate flooring throughout the great room and cut Berber in the bedrooms. High end DCS stainless steal appliances in the kitchen and neutral paint with natural tones throughout.
All the furnishings are new as of October 2011, this includes new mattresses with memory foam toppers to ensure a good nights sleep after a busy day and night out enjoying all Tahoe has to offer.
Other Tahoe ski areas Sierra at Tahoe, Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, North Star, Diamond Peak, and Squaw Valley are all still less than an hours drive. In addition, this home is only a short walk or drive to the Zephry Cove Resort, which has the M.S. Dixie paddle wheeler boat, Woodwind II catamaran, all types of boat rentals, fish charter, para sailing, and horseback riding.
Please note: The road to the property
(approximately 100 yds in length) is very steep and gated in the winter, thus being closed to traffic other than those
occupying one of the four residences on the street. Unless the road is clear of snow and ice it is not advised to drive on
the road, and to always wear appropriate footwear when walking on the roads. Four wheel drive and/or snow tires
are strongly recommended in case of snow or icy conditions when traveling anywhere in Tahoe. Tenants are responsible for closing the gate after they pass through going either
direction and assume full liability should they leave the gate unlocked, or open

The view is great, just far enough away to get a panoramic view close enough to see little details. This could be one of the best in Tahoe. Like the description mentioned, it's very private. I was a little concerned knowing how many homes are in Tahoe, but it was very nice, nobody around. But it is a little more bare bones than I expected. Like one reviewer said, like camping. I understand that the house was just renovated, and we did book last minute, but there are quite a few little things missing that one would expect. ej. phone cable (hence no phone), batteries for the remote, kitchen pretty basic, could use sponges, corkscrews, salt, coffee filter. There was toilet paper though, no shampoo.. With that said, if you come a little more prepared that normal, you can save yourself a few trips to safeway. A few more instructions would be nice, some more details. Steep driveway. Thanks for the use of your home.

This was a beautiful spacious cabin for my family and friends this past weekend. There was plenty of space for big groups and beautiful views all around. The property was very well kept and the owner was very easy to work with. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful relaxing get away.

This place is a stunning Tahoe getaway! The cabin itself is spacious, TV is huge, plenty of room to relax, entertain, and lodging is spacious for a good size group of people seeking a nice Tahoe getaway. The private beach is GORGEOUS with amazing views of the Tahoe scenery. BBQ at the place or at the beach is great. Hot tub is a nice touch. Quality kitchen set up with large fridge. Driveway parks 5-6 cars pretty easy. Owner is very accessible, easy to work with, and not overbearing. Very close to the South Lake casinos and all sorts of other activities. Overall this was a great experience and I would recommend!

Paid to stay from April 5, 2010 through April 9, 2010. House was in such bad shape we could only stay April 5, 2010. Location, etc: Gorgeous. Property condition: Could not get our minivan up the driveway because it had not been completely cleared. We shovelled snow for an hour. When we got up driveway to house, we discovered house had not been cleaned. Worse, the heat was not working. No coffee pot and definitely bring your own toilet paper, soap and shampoo. Hot tub was great. Customer service: When we got up the next morning, we discovered that the maintenance company had locked the front gate (neighbors included). Maintenance company did not unlock until 11:00 a.m. When they got there they blamed us. Missed half a day of skiing. Heat was never fixed. It was suggested that we find other accomodations. Been over a month and they still have not refunded any money. Recommend property: No.

Location, location, location. This was the right location for our families Tahoe celebration. South Lake Tahoe offers it all, food, casinos, shopping, nightlife, sandy beaches. This Zephyr Heights location allowed us to be within a stones throw to all that was happening. Fantastic views from every corner, breath taking photos of the lake, the hills and the birds. Comfortable and relaxing this property had it all. Other than a few minor needed repairs the property was clean and well-maintained. Would not recommend it for someone that can't climb stairs, there are a few. After a couple of tries everyone got the hang of parking in the steep sloped driveway but once they were there, the climb was satisfying. As this was our first time to rent a home, we learned that it is a camping trip but better. Be sure to bring soap and shampoo and TP too. But don't worry if you have forgotten anything, the store is 3 miles down the road. A great place to be!

For my birthday I drove from SF to Tahoe with 9 friends for the weekend. The snow was so-so, and because of wind we weren't able to ski nearly as much as we had wanted, but all was not lost - quite the opposite in fact. The house that we rented on Zephyr Drive was so great that we had a blast, even with our limited skiing experience. The house was sweet, exactly like the posting, actually it was better... the hot tub was hot and bubbly (I've rented places where it wasn't!) - taken alone the view from the deck makes this place a dream. Lucky for me it was my bday so I got the MBR, but everybody got a comfortable bed (they just didn't all have a fireplace and huge bathtub in their room). The place was clean, big, easy to find... it was great. The rental process could not have been easier. Everything was close, the supermarket, restaurants, skiing, the lake... perfect location, yet not on top of all the noise and lights that can sometimes take away from the charm of Tahoe. The only part of the trip that I regret is not being better at craps, maybe blackjack is my game. Next time I go to Tahoe I am going back to this place, it was, for lack of a better word, perfect (since I am from out of town I have never been in the summer, but I hope to make it out there this year, that house would be great in any weather). Thanks Chris, I had a blast you place is really fantastic, I can't wait to come back! -Nick
