This is defintiely the place for anyone seeking peace and quiet and relaxation and seclusion. We went to about 10 different beaches and barely saw any other people. One day was "crowded", there were about 3 other people there ;) After jam packed east coast USA beaches, this was a VERY welcome change! Many of the beaches have got to be among the top beached in the world. powder soft pink sand, warm turquoise water... I couldn't believe how spectacular they were and no one was there!!! Where else in the world can you experience that?!? (Actually I think Harbour Island is listed as one of the top 10 beaches in the world.) The house and surrounding landscaping are really nice. Designer furniture, well decorated. The diving board into the Caribbean sea is a really cool unique touch. First time doing that! My boyfriend and I were there for 10 days and read a lot of literature and got really tan- not something we do at home! also did a bit of exploring and felt adventurous. Overall it was a perfect vacation. Highly recommended for beach bums. NOTE: Take into account that you will need to rent a car for exploring/going to lots of beaches. Bring bug spray.

We stayed at 2 Sisters Cottage with another couple in Feb. 2011. The house is comfortably furnished and nicely decorated. The views of the sea and tropical garden from the porches are simply splendid- your private tropical paradise. Right out front , in Little Bay, the snorkeling just might be the best in the Bahamas. We saw a huge green sea turtle, dolphins playing in the distance and innumerable other sea creatures. We had it all to ourselves too, except for a rare passing boater. Sublime! PS- We really miss that diving board and Tiki Hut- from morning coffee to evening sunsets. Can't wait to return.

My husband and I just returned home on Saturday, April 17, 2010 and were very sad to leave. We had never been to the Island before and before even landing, the color of the water and the views were breath taking. We decided on 2 Sisters being that we wanted to go some where "secluded", peaceful and relaxing to spend our 25th Anniversary together....it was everything we could of imagined and MORE! We loved the snorkeling out in the bay in front of the house, it was absolutely amazing. We traveled to Cape Eluethera which is at one end of the island one day, stopping at various places and beaches and then another day we went to the other end of the Island up by Current Cut. We took over 600 pictures while we were there because "everything" to us seemed worthy of a picture. We also did some spelunking (Hatchet Bay Caves & Ocean Hole Caves) which I thought I would NEVER do but I got my courage up and it was fun. The secluded beaches were so amazing and beautiful as well. I could go on and on and on about how fabulous this trip was for us. If you like seclusion, privacy, and peacefulness for a vacation, this is definitely the place to go.

This was a great little cottage ideal for a small family or maybe 2 couples. The description is pretty accurate, although there there is only one genuine bathroom, shared between the two bedrooms. Beware the only access to the bedrooms internally is via a ladder from upstairs, or externally via sliding doors. This makes the property potentially unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. The house was well maintained and was very "homely" and the owner could not have been more helpful. Help was readily on hand once we had arrived. The island was exceptionally quiet with stunning beaches that were totally empty. Great restaurants for dinner were The Rainbow Inn, The Sky Beach Club Bistro, The Pink Sands Hotel on Harbour Island and I would recommend CocodiMama and the Sunset Inn for lunch. Eleuthera is definitely not the place to go for an activity-filled holiday but the swimming/snorkelling/shelling and days spent chilling out on the beach were great. Take bug spray/cream/anthistimine tablets, as the "noseeums" and sand mites were evil !! Also beware hire cars, as they are generally old and well used. We had a Ford Explorer which is the kind of vehicle you should aim for, as access to the beaches were mostly over very rugged ground. The one we had was well into it's second time round the clock, but it actually worked well for us!

We really enjoyed our stay at 2 Sisters. The view is amazing! The house is very clean and wonderfully decorated. We felt so at home. We can't wait to go back. Some of the best beaches we have ever seen are located within minutes of the house. Snorkeling right out front is great also.

It was a very relaxing trip and your location is AMAZING! My husband and I loved the snorkeling especially around the bend to the north where the fallen rocks are. It was beautiful! Oh how I wish it was lobster season when we were there! I could not believe how many we saw in and around the rocks right in front of the house. We were fortunate enough to follow an octopus for a while one day as well as come across a spotted moray eel in some rocks right off the deck. Not to mention the hundreds of groupers, angel fish, etc...it was some of the best snorkeling we've done in the Bahamas!

I thought the plane ride from Fla. to the Island was beautiful. As you get closer to the island you really can't tell when the blue water stops and the sky starts, and then you look down and see waves crashing on the island and it is really exciting. Even the airport was cool. It is small and relaxed like nothing you could ever find in the States. Then we drove from the airport a little ways and reached the town of Governors Harbour and thought "okay, pretty sure this is a movie set." The water was so blue and the buildings are pink, yellow, light blue, but it was indeed real... we drove past with an exciting feeling about what might be next. When we reached the driveway to the house it was a kind of a dirt road and now we thought "uh, maybe this was a wrong turn" but we went around a couple curves into the driveway and the house was so cool. I still felt a little nervous excitement, I mean it was a house by a beautiful sea and nobody around, a new environment to say the least. But we got settled in and it was awesome. There is a spiral staircase on the porch from the bottom to top level, but on the inside there is like a ladder from the bottom floor up into the top floor, we thought that was cool. I sat outside and read 2 books in 5 days (I had not read 2 books in the last 2 years). Diving off the back deck was really fun, and there is a little reef right out back with some cool fish. We drove up to a beach one day and rented surf boards and tried surfing but the waves were kind of big so that was an experience, but still really fun. And on Friday there was a fish fry party in Governors Harbour with lots of food and drinks and good people. They were saying that it is a weekly happening on Friday nights. The place was really really neat and we were lucky to have a cool place like this to go to which was not far from the east coast.

Beautiful home located right on the caribbean! Perfect deck location for watching the most beautiful sunset ever! The home is extremely accomodating and no details were left out (including an outdoor shower). Very private and very quiet! I enjoyed being able to lay out on the beach on the Atlantic side AND the Caribbean side....on the SAME day! How cool is that? The home is very clean and comfortable....not many vacation homes have an Eames Lounge and Ottoman! Friday night fish fry is a must! As is buying fish from the local fishermen. I don't remember where, but when you turn out of the house, turn right and you will find the fishermen. Lobster fresh out of the water....and CHEAP (delicious as well)! I highly recommend this if you are looking for a peaceful, serene, beautiful destination for your Bahama-vention!!!
Owner response:I'm so glad you loved your stay and look forward to having you as a guest again. New for next year we'll have high speed internet at the house, a diving board at the water front and much more!!

2 Sisters Cottage was the ideal place for our family vacation this year. We found everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing getaway. The decor, furnishings and art were lovely; sunsets from the porch and deck were beautiful daily events; swimming in the vast caribbean "pool" right out front was beyond comparison. Our kids especially enjoyed the big jump into the water from the seaside deck. Our only complaint was it all ended too soon- We'll try to get back asap!!

As you arrive in the driveway and catch a glimpse of the amazing azure colored bay, you feel the pressure and stress of work start to melt away. The house is efficient and well appointed, the design and colors work perfectly with the site. in addition to the amazing view of the Caribbean, complete with sunsets, this house affords maximum privacy. It is spotless, and has a well equipped kitchen. I loved buying fruit and veggies from local growers, and loved their spicy sauce. Eleuthera is magical spot for those who value raw beauty, and want to have an entire beach to themselves. As you turn over to sleep,The sounds of the sea pounding on the rocks acts as your lullaby. It must be seen.

Have stayed at 2 Sisters twice, once with friends, once with spouse. Comfortable, all conveniences of home, private, beautifully quiet. The two sisters who own it have personally taken time to build, furnish and decorate the house. The small bay you see in the pics is deep, clear and full of life. Snorkel in the morning, read tons, short distance from white non-populated beaches, local life, ferrys to other islands. Prepackaged food is expensive as all shipped in but that is the worst of it - organic farm short drive - fresh veggies and fruit, fresh baked bread twice a week, as well as sauces, chutneys, pestos from farm ingredients. 2 sisters has full kitchen so cooked great dinners most nights. Dry goods and some foods can be brought in check on bag - helps with food costs. Great quaint local library has internet access if you HAVE to. 2 sisters keeps a cell there for emergencies if yours doesn't work there. Minutes are expensive. Car rental possible straight from small airport. Rentals are heavily used. We handed them cash and left the keys under the mat when we returned to the airport. Yes, it is that local, approachable and locals largely know each other. Do Tip. If you are a cruise lover or an all inclusive type- this is a comfortable home-like dwelling in a beautiful, breathtaking, natural setting. If you are the aforementioned, you likely won't be reading this anyway but know there is a certain amt. of hands on here. Restaurants are expensive so meals were part of the hands on for us. Local liquor store on way from airport. Beer a bit pricey - we were rum buyers. When in Rome. If weather is good, waters calm, local fish available. Beaches largely have very few folks so be smart about where and when you swim. Don't underestimate currents. Sun is strong. Bring strong sunscreen and deet for noseeums. They can be tough at given seasons. Plane ride from Ft. Laud is short - bout an hour. Small plane - aisle with seat on either side. No overhead, no bathroom. FYI if those small planes freak you out. Overall, pretty easy to get to. There is no highly commercial area close by so if you are a big night lifer on vaca, you will be driving to find some. Lots of nature, lots of beauty, lots of no sirens, few motors, an all around break for the senses. As a city dweller, this was a rest for the soul. You can hear yourself think for a change. You can slow down and recharge. Sunsets stunning. Loved 2 Sisters!
