Come and relax in our completely furnished 4 bedroom home in the heart of the 6800 acre Galena Territory, with 1 king, 2 queens, 2 twins and queen sofa bed, sleeps 8-10. The rolling hills of the area are beautiful in every season.
Our home is a great place to get away with your family or a group of friends to enjoy all the Territory has to offer.
Home features main level master bedroom with king bed and adjoining bathroom with jetted tub. Main level also includes living room, large kitchen and dining space, walk-in pantry and entrance to screened porch and deck with a new, large gas grill. Living room features vaulted ceiling and sky lights, wood burning fireplace, 32" HDTV and more.
Upper level boasts a spacious bedroom with large arched window and sky lights, queen bed, walk-in closet, cable TV and attached full bathroom.
Lower level features spacious family room with new queen sofa bed with Serta mattress, cozy leather chair and ottoman, 32" HDTV, a large wood table for games, puzzles, cards, and laundry closet (washer/dryer). Lower level has two bedrooms, one with queen bed and comfortable loveseat for lounging, another with two twin beds. Full bathroom is adjacent to family room and bedrooms.
Stepping out on the deck or sitting in the screened in porch you can enjoy nature at its best with deer, wild turkeys, and many other woodland animals in the woods behind our home.
We are close to Eagle Ridge Resorts 4 championship golf courses and the Stonedrift Spa where you can book a massage or a full day spa package. You will also be close to the Marina on Lake Galena where you can rent pontoons, canoes, fishing boats and paddle boats. Horseback riding is available at the Shenandoah Riding Center with many trail ride choices to entice any rider.
You will also have the use of the Owners Club with outdoor pool, kiddie pool, outdoor tennis courts, indoor basketball, fitness center and activity room with pool tables, ping pong, etc.
Take in the beautiful scenery while hiking, biking or walking any of the numerous trails in the Territory.
A short 6 mile drive to Galena offers many boutiques, unique shops, museums and restaurants to visit and dine at.
Dubuque, IA is 20 miles away with the Mississippi River Aquarium, Dog Track, and Casino with indoor water park.

Why the Owner Chose Galena
We chose Galena, IL because it was and easy 5 hr drive for us from Stillwater,MN and it is only a 3 hr drive from downtown Chicago and O'Hare airport which makes it convenient for those who fly in.Our granddaughter has really enjoyed the times that we share at the "Galena house" and I'm sure we will create a lot of great memories there in the future. This area is known as the Galena Territory, a 6800 acre area that is home to the 225-acre Lake Galena and Marina, Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa, with 4 championship golf courses, Shenandoah Riding Center and many hiking and biking trails.
Downtown historic Galena is just 6 miles from our home with lots of many quaint shops, restaurants,art galleries,and wineries. Galena is home to Ulysses S. Grant and has a lot of great historical buildings and tours.
In winter there is sledding, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing at nearby Chestnut Mountain Ski area.
The Unique Benefits at this House
While staying at our rental property you can enjoy all the Territory has to offer. You will receive amenity tags that give you access to the Territory Owners Club which has a large outdoor pool with lots of tables and umbrellas to enjoy a picnic near the pool or food from the concession stand. You will also have access to the indoor basketball court, fitness center, game room complete with pool tables, table tennis, foosball, and board games. Also outside you find a tennis court and play area for the little ones.
You will also be given a discount at the Marina where you can rent canoes, pontoon or fishing boats.

My husband and I are self employed and we wanted a place for our adult children to come to that was centrally located. We also wanted a special place for our grandchildren to be able to come to with lots of great activities that would enjoy as they grow. We usually are there each month for 4-5 days and have enjoyed exploring the area in each season.

We stayed at this beautiful Galena home over this past Thanksgiving holiday and had a great time! The home was a perfect setup to result in a very comfortable stay for our family of 6 adults and 4 children. It was exactly as described in the ad and we were pleased with how well it fit our needs. The kitchen was even fully stocked with all the cooking utensils needed to fix a Thanksgiving dinner for the 10 of us! The Galena Territories area, where this home is located, is absolutely gorgeous with lots of hiking paths around the small lake which isn't far from the house. The town of Galena is only a short drive (10 mins at most to downtown) and is such a great place to visit with lots to do and see...we had no time to be bored during the 4 days/3 nights that we stayed here! Jennifer, the home owner, was easy to work with and everything went smoothely from start to finish for our mini-vacation at this home! I would highly recommend staying here and would love to go back soon!

my husband and i along with our children and grandchildren found this lovely home to be just what we needed. a perfect set-up to relax and then join in all of the activites in the area. the first time that we have rented and found everything working properly!! ir was easy to keep neat and tidy and we hope to have and opportunity to be there again. thank you, jennifer for being so pleasant and accessible. we would definitely recommend this property to our friends. our family traveled to the crystal lake cave---it was a new experience for the children. we also enjoyed riding horses, paddleboating, swimming, shopping and dining in galena and chestnut mountain with the alpine sleds.

Great place to stay, it was quiet, comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen was exceptionally well furnished with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. Another big plus; the owner was very helpful via email and phone calls - I was a first time renter with many questions.

This was one of the wisest travel arrangements I have ever made. We were in Galena for my daughters nearby college graduation. My family and extended family were all there for the graduation. Three separate families stayed in the house with additional relatives staying nearby. After the graduation ceremony, we all came back to the house for a catered dinner. We were able to enjoy our celebration dinner at the house. It was well equipped with everything we needed. I had never rented a house before, and would highly recommend this house. We all enjoyed our stay. Everything about the way this house is set up was perfect for my family. There is enough space to enjoy each others company, without being on top of each other like many hotels. We all enjoyed the books that were there for us to read. My entire family enjoyed making smores on the fire pit. I was able to take many beautiful pictures with the setting on the deck. This house was everything I had hoped it would be for such a special occasion and more. Jennifer was also very helpful. I would highly recommend this house for people of all ages. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity allows.

We are a group of 4 couples who have been visiting the Galena area since 1996 we have stayed in many different homes in the territory all have claimed to be fully equiped NONE have been until we tayed at this one we are used to bringing most of our own utensils, pots pans and any other item that should be in a kitchen forfunatly this year I came up ahead of the group wiyh my family and forgot my crok pot to my pleasent surprize this home has a crok pot and has I checked out the kitchen I found that this home had everything that we could possibly want including Starbuks coffee and Folger's and a great coffee pot to brew it in plus a caraf to keep one pot hot as another is brewing. We actualy had a table with 8 chairs in a home that sleeps 8 people that seems to be a real problem in many houses that we have rented and enough big fluffy towels to go around and change them as needed. the firewood was the so easy to start that all the starter logs went back home loved the kitchen pantry I dont know what else to tell you because I want this house availabe for me already made resevations for 2 weekends next year

My kids & grandkids couldn't have asked for a more perfect home to stay in. It was very, very comfortable and felt like "home" to all of us, especially to the grandkids when they found all the little "treasures" hidden away in the closets as well as the many, many children's movies. It was exceptionally clean and the space was definitely adequate for all of us. I would return again if the opportunity arises.

My husband and I spent the week between Christmas and New Years at this property. The home was clean, spacious and quite comfortable. The Galena Territory is lovely and we has a wonderful vacation. The owner was available by cell phone to answer our questions and give directions when we first arrived. We plan on renting this property again in the future and would recommend it to anyone interested in a quiet, family get-together.
