Maui's Unspoiled North Shore at Your Doorstep
- Minimum stay:N/A

Hawaii Tax ID: W01836408-01. Located on Maui's North Shore just steps from Kuau Cove and world Famous Mama's Fish House Restaurant this 3rd floor unit offers an ocean view off the lanai/living room and gorgeous view of Haleakala and surrounding sugarcane fields out the back door.
Literally, a 1 minute walk to the sandy cove/beach. A small reef 20 yards off-shore protects the shoreline from heavy surge making a nice 'tide pool' type beach...great for a short, calm swim.
One minute drive west to historic Paia Town with shops, restaurants, art galleries, etc. One minute drive east to Ho'okipa Beach Park with the most consistent windsurfing and surfing on Maui. Central location and generally year-round great weather make this a fantastic value.
Note: Washer/Dryer are shared with other tenants in the building.

This condo is well located, but you definitely need a car to go in Paia and at the beach (Baldwin beach). Still nice, the little beach near the condo is not for swimming. Paia is a nice little town with affordable restaurants and many boutiques. The grocery is organic and may be costly if you don't go to a bigger one in Kahului. Concerning the condo, it is spacious and the bedroom is separated from the kitchen and the living room. It is cute, clean and has a lot of storages. Though, the mattress needs to be changed because it worns down in the middle. Also, the bedroom is facing the highway, which is very noisy. Overall, we had a good seven days stay and we recommand this place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Location: This place is conveniently close to Paia, but not within 'casual' walking distance. only 10 minutes away from Wailuku shopping. Mama's fish house is right next door, but it's a pricey restaurant. Great place to be if you're looking to travel around Hana highway. Comfort: The bed is very comfortable. Pillows/blankets were provided. Kitchen with a small fridge and plates/utensils/pots/pans/coffee maker, etc. Buy your own cooking oil/salt/sugar if you want to cook. Sponge/dish soap were provided. Cleaniness: The place was clean. Noise: The rental is located right next to the Hana highway, so road noise is there between 9am to 8pm. If you're an early riser, this is not a problem, as the neighborhood quiets down significantly during the night. Owner: The owner was responsive and friendly. Misc Complaints: We found the following: Some of the light bulbs didn't work, leaving the living room and bed room feeling dark. Some previous tenant unscrewed the shower knob. The some of the back windows (which are shutter type) were stuck and couldn't be shut to reduce outside noise. Overall: The price was very reasonable for this place. I would stay here again in the future if I could.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This place looks like a prison from the street. The best part of the unit is the pleasant balcony on the 3rd floor overlooking a lawn & some tall palm trees. Place is close to Paia shopping district which you can check out in one day. The nearest beach is nice to watch a sunset on but can't really swim there. If you can afford to eat at Mama's Fish House then you will be happy to find out it is next door. The bad part is the bed, very uncomfortable & squeaks with every movement. Also wish we knew that construction workers would show up each morning at 7:30am to work on the concrete floor directly outside the front door.Owner response: The concrete work was being done for required safety considerations and is now complete. The job happens about once every 10 years. Today we bought and installed a new temperpedic queen bed set. Over the last two days the unit has been freshly painted in all rooms. The beach referenced above is swimmable, but only when the ocean conditions are mellow. If the waves are too large at the beach out front there is always the protected tidepool for a quick dip or Hookipa beach park is about 1/2 mile away and can be walked to or you may take a very short drive...less than a minute. As with all north facing shores in Hawaii large waves occur (mostly in the winter) and we strongly advise watching the ocean for at least 20 minutes before swimming and/or checking with the locals or lifeguards before going out. Mahalo!

We rented this condo for 2 weeks and loved it! Everything was just as described. Great local side of Maui, super cool town of Paia which was local and laid back with great resturants and shopping. Condo was super clean, great stone bathroom, remodeled kitchen - had everything we needed. Owner super easy to deal with. Right on the Hana Hwy next to Ho'okipa Beach...we will be back for sure and I would recommend to anyone not looking for a tourist big hotel experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My wife and I are just back from five great days in February 2012 staying at this condo. It was VERY clean when we arrived. And there were NO bugs, which is unusual in the tropics in my past experience. It was well stocked with towels, comforters, coffee maker, kitchen utensils. The kitchen and bedroom are larger than I'd imagined from the photos. The water view is somewhat obscured by palm fronds...maybe they'll blow down by the time you get there. Everything else is accurate. The owner was professional and helpful. It was pretty quiet. We rarely heard other people there, and never after 10pm. The wind was whistling through the bedroom, but SLIDE open the windows a little and whistling goes away. For 2 days I thought the windows HINGED open and were stuck. OOOPS.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I stayed at this property for 5 nights. The location is wonderful for heading east, west or south. Additonally, the proximity to Paia town itself allows access to good food and shopping. The condo buidling is right along the the highway though and thankfully the traffic dies down considerably at night. The condo is an older property and it could use with a good cleaning at the mimimum. We had bulbs not working, a tub that needed cleaning and a general feeling of uncleaniness. It is possible that some new paint, a deep cleaning (even the furniture and cleaning our the cupboards and drawers) and a few new items in the house could do wonders. The owner was very helpful and allowed us to come in early and leave a little later than the checkout time. The price was good and we would consider staying here again if we were assured that the place was cleaner.Owner response: Thank you for the review. The cleaner has been released of duty and a new, very professional cleaner has been hired. Deep cleaning occurred this week and painting of cabinets is scheduled for next month.

This condo provided a great launch point for our two week Maui vacation. The pictures are accurate and the condo is clean and updated. Only a minute walk to a small local beach though we spent most of our time at the bigger, but still quiet Paia Bay, a short 5 minute drive away. The owner was very helpful in allowing us a late checkout and replies to emails and questions quickly. The real advantage to this place over other Maui condos is the location. There are very few affordable rentals around the Paia area and if you're looking for a laid back surf town with many great restaurants, cafes and shops this is the place to be. It's also a great location if you want to get an early start to your run down the Hana Highway. Now at home, I'm happy to dream about being back on the balcony enjoying morning coffee or an afternoon beer in the ocean breeze.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
