This very quiet, sunny and spacious apartment offers the best of LA living! It's five minutes from Rodeo Drive, CBS, the Beverly Center, Cedars Sinai Hospital, LACMA, the Grove and the 10 Freeway; 15 minutes from Fox, MGM and Sony studios; 20 minutes from Santa Monica and the beach. An excellent city park one block away is superbly equipped with playground games, a jogging track and so on. Our beautiful street is lined with tall palm trees and tropical flowers that bloom all year round.

The house is a duplex built in 1930. The rooms have original hardwood floors, incredible crown moldings (taken from MGM movie sets!), high ceilings and large French windows. You will have the entire ground floor, an 1800-square foot apartment which offers three double bedrooms, two full baths, a studio, formal dining room, living room with double sleep sofa, fully-equipped kitchen and separate laundry room. When guests arrive, they all say, "It's so much bigger than we expected!"

As you walk up to the front door there is a private patio that is hidden from the street, furnished with a table and chairs. You step into the foyer, which has warm Mexican saltillo tiles on the floor. To your right is the large living room, furnished with two black leather sofas, one futon sofa, a large coffee table, big bookcase, cocktail table, cable TV and ornamental fireplace. This room has two large French windows on one side, plus a floor-to-ceiling picture window that looks onto the lush landscaping of the garden.

Off the other side of the foyer is the formal dining room, with a big country dining table and chairs for 10, plus a sideboard. Beyond that is the studio, where you can use your computer on the large desk. There is wireless throughout the apartment, by the way. Beyond the studio is the kitchen, which has two windows, loads of cabinets, a full freezer/fridge, dishwasher, Merritt & O'Keefe stove and range, microwave, toaster oven, blender, juicer and other small appliances.

You'll find a full set of dishes, glassware and cutlery for 10, plus plenty of pots and pans. Off the kitchen is the laundry room, which has a large washer and large dryer, plus several cabinets and shelves for more storage.

A long hallway off the foyer has a closet for your suitcases and leads to the sleeping quarters. Here you'll find one bedroom with new double bed and new twin-size daybed, one bedroom with brand new queen bed, and one bedroom with an oversize California king bed with antique headboard and brand new mattress. All three bedrooms have brand new wall-to-wall carpet, large dressers and walk-in closets, and the California king room has a 32" flat-screen cable TV with DVR, and a brand new en suite bathroom with walk-in stall shower.

The two other bedrooms share a large bathroom with the original Art Deco tiles, a full bathtub and separate walk-in shower. A door from the queen bedroom leads to a small dressing room that opens onto the bathroom, so that this second bathroom can also be considered en suite.     • Lovely accommodations for our girls getaway. The clean, spacious apartment is located in a very quiet residential area, a safe home away from home, with off street parking. Lots and lots of space, large bedrooms, dining room, living room, 2 baths, and the cutest kitchen, fully equipped. When at the property, you would never know that you are only minutes from main highways .. we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go very easily and quickly. Stores are all close by for easy grocery shopping, dining, etc. For any future LA trips, this will be my #1 choice for a place to stay – so much nicer than a hotel. Very nice owners are just upstairs and are more than happy to provide answers to questions, tips for fantastic neighborhood restaurants that you would not find on your own, and tips and tricks for how to avoid LA traffic (easiest routes). Highly recommend !!

    • We had a fantastic time staying at this ideal apartment for 6 people over the New Year's period. It is well furnished, with 3 huge double bedrooms and all amenities and home comforts provided. Kristin made our stay so easy and was so welcoming, we cannot recommend staying here highly enough. Lovely quiet residential area to stay in, with off street parking and only minutes drive to the heart of Hollywood. We had a fantastic stay here and wouldn't even dream of getting a hotel the next time we thought about going to Los Angeles. Highly recommended and extremely comfortable!

    • Thank you for renting your lovely apartment to me and my family during the long weekend of my daughter's wedding celebration. Our four nights at your home provided us a true home in which to relax, be together as a family, and use as a home base to the activities of the weekend. The lovely, quiet neighborhood added to the warm interior ambiance. Local stores were nearby, so that we could pick up food and other necessities easily and quickly. We'd definitely recommend your apartment to friends and family who visit LA, and would use it again if any of us were there. Thank you, Judy

    • We truly enjoyed our stay at this first floor duplex. It has large rooms and is very clean. The location is close to many restaurants and attractions of LA...The neighborhood was safe. The owner lives in the upstairs duplex and is available to answer any of your questions. It was so much nicer than a hotel room. We will stay here again. Thanks Kristin for all your help.

    • This is a delightful property we all had the most amazing time here! There was nothing missing and all of our expectations were surpassed. It was a family trip that we will never forget and we are so happy we were able to spend that time together in this beautiful home. We were a family of six staying for Five weeks, and had plenty of room for cooking, dining together at the really beautiful dining-room or just relaxing in the cozy-clean living room. All the rooms were spacious and parking was never a problem. Since it was the first time for the family to visit Los Angeles a lot of friends visited us and we were able to use a backyard taverna for barbeque during weekends. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, but you will have all the L.A. attractions 5 minutes away only. A special thanks to the owners of the place Patrick and Kristin who are terrific host that will respond to your needs. The Kids really missed the house and of course Patrick. I will definitely recommend this place to all of my friends. “IT’S DEFINITELY HOME AWAY FROM HOME”

    • We stayed at the Spanish Colonial in April, 2008 and were pleasantly surprised to find it was better than we expected. The apartment was immaculate. The neighborhood is beautiful and incredibly quiet: even though we were in the heart of LA and only one block away from two major avenues, we slept with our windows open and heard nothing but birdsong. The bedrooms in this apartment are all very spacious and sunny and there is way more closet space than you'd ever use. The bathrooms are excellent, with big walk-in showers and one has a bathtub. The kitchen is kind of old-fashioned, but it combines the feel of a Hollywood bungalow with all the appliances we needed, and the hosts supplied it with loads of dishes and cookware. They also let us throw a party for friends in their backyard taverna, which was really nice since that is not advertised as part of the rental. There was plenty of room in the house for our family of 5 to hang out together and watch TV or play games, or have meals in the dining room. We liked the fact that we could do laundry whenever we wanted - that and being able to cook saved us loads of money (which the kids spent at Disneyland.... but anyway!) We stayed for 10 days but we could easily have stayed for several weeks. I highly recommend this property. The owners certainly did everything they could to make our stay pleasant.
