Aloha! My Hawaiian Condo Home is in the resort area of Keauhou (near the Sheraton) and minutes from downtown Kona. Nestled in the quiet and picturesque area of Alii Drive and the Pacific Ocean. You are within a short walk to Keauhou Bay, its harbor and access to water activities including sailing, snorkeling, canoeing, swimming and dive cruises to Kealakekua Bay.
Kona means “leeward side” in Hawaiian and that means full-on sun every day of the year. I chose my Vacation Home because it's in a quiet park like location, out of the hustle and bustle, yet in an absolute paradise of weather, Hawaiian culture, sports activities and convenient to all the Big Island has to offer.
My home has 1232 sq ft on the first floor of a well maintained condominium resort. The home presents easy living with two bedrooms. The Master Suite slider opens onto a 40 foot lanai and lawn area. It has a king size bed, walk in closet and its own bathroom with tub and shower. The separate dressing area makes the Suite private and personally comfortable. The second bedroom is a full queen. A desk, computer printer and internet hookup are available. The second bathroom with shower, separate dressing area and a full laundry is adjacent to this bedroom.
Should you choose to eat in, rather than sample the great fare at our local restaurants, the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, flatware, pots/pans and spices. There is a baking oven, microwave, dishwasher and huge refrigerator. Dining on the lanai with a Kona Sunset is a superb way to make a romance sparkle, end the day and live in joy.
Sliders from the large living room extends onto the marvelous landscape and view of the Pacific Ocean, Kona Country Club's Makai Golf Course (#8 green) and with an expansive lawn area leading to the swimming pool and the "Long House", a common social gathering place in the evening.
The well maintained and peaceful complex is situated within easy access (10 minute walk) to a complete shopping center with restaurants, grocery, Longs discount, cinema, and other amenities. In addition, there is the Keauhou and the HELO Expresses, free bus systems for Kona. Great and reasonable discount golf is available by merely walking the 9th hole to the Kona CC Pro Shop.
You are within walking distance of Kahaluu Beach Park, the best snorkeling beach in the Hawaiian Islands. Schools of brightly colored fish and sea turtles make for great and safe snorkeling. The night diving with the Manta Rays for experienced scuba divers is just a stones throw from the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and is rated one of the top 10 dives in the world.
Within a reasonable drive, you can find white sand or black sand or green sand beaches. A leisurely drive puts you onto one of the world’s most active volcano, Mauna Loa. Great hiking, sight seeing and you can always bring your snow skis to schuss down Mauna Kea. The Kona Iron Man Triathlon run is just a short walk down Alii Drive. All in all, this Condo Home makes for a superb, relaxed, low key Hawaiian vacation.
We are glad to answer any questions and do all we can to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Please feel free to contact us for more information. (510 409 0124) Mahalo.
