Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Katie and Dale Fosselman are the owners of Carriage House. Katie, is a CPA who has owned her own firm in Palmer for 20 years and Dale is a credit union executive. We have lived or worked in the Matanuska Valley since 1984. Katie, whose grandfather ran a gold dredge in Fairbanks in the early 1900's, is lifelong Alaskan and Dale will reach the 30 year mark in 2011. In Alaska, we enjoy sea kayaking, skiing, fishing and canoeing. In the past 15 years we have been bitten by the travel bug and have visited more than 20 countries from Perth,Australia to Mostar, Bosnia-Hercegovina. We enjoy going to new places and try to help visitors have a rewarding visit to our neck of the woods.
Why the Owner Chose Palmer
We actually lived in the Carriage House for 6 months while we completed construction of our current home. Along with our 2 golden retrievers, we enjoy the benefits of living on a 5 acre parcel bordered by a Colony farm and open fields with an oustanding view. The design and amenities of Carriage House - full galley kitchen, double closet, W/D, satellite TV - that made the property suitable for a longer term stay also seem to make it quite nice as short term accommodation.
The Unique Benefits of this House
What makes Carriage House unique is the combination of quick and easy access to the attractions of the Matanuska Valley (Iditarod HQ, Hatcher Pass, historical Palmer, Palmer Fairgrounds and Anchorage) while being situated in a wooded setting, surrounded by pasture, fields and an amazing view of the Chugach Mountains.

Very neat and clean!!!! The amenities and layout were exactly as described. The owner was very personable and gave helpful tips and insights for getting around Alaska. This rental was our main point of stay. We traveled to Fairbanks for two nights left our things in the Carriage House and came back to our things still there and untouched. We highly recommend this rental, you won't be sorry!!!! We hope to return again soon.

My husband and I found this "Carriage House" just perfect. The owner was very helpful, answered all questions. Because this was our 'base camp' to view other parts of Alaska and visit family, it was a great respite that was calm and quiet. Overlooking their well kept yard and fire pit was so inviting and relaxing. Everything was what we expected and look forward to returning in the future.
Owner response:Visitors looking to explore southcentral Alaska or visit family in the area have found our property to be a great value.

The Carriage House was very neat and clean. It was a great location near Wasilla making it easy to drive to many destinations for our Alaska Vacation. We eaven got a great picture of a moose eating Dale and Katie's trees. Would recommend this property and also rent it again.
