Welcome to Splendid Adventure, our FABULOUSLY cute beach cottage that we're happy to share with you.
It is a beautiful 2 bedroom, 1 bath stand alone cottage directly across the two lane road from the Gulf of Mexico on the West Beach of Gulf Shores. We've added new tile in the living room and kitchen and a brand new a/c system! There is easy, deeded, paved beach access with rinsing showers available directly across the two-lane, a beautifully landscaped pool area, common washers and dryers, grills in common areas and a great view from our deck of both the Gulf and the lagoon. Our cottage has two designated, covered parking spaces directly beneath it. We also have a rinsing shower there for your convenience!
Should the dates you need not be available we also have a two bedroom, 1 bath beachfront condo a half mile back toward the "T" in Gulf Village. The vrbo listing for this unit is 214152. Give it a look and see if we have the dates you need there!
Come on down and let the fresh sea breezes ease your mind as you unwind on the legendary sugar white beaches of Gulf Shores. There is as much or as little to do as you please here. And remember, once you cross that Intercoastal Waterway bridge, SMILE, you're on Island Time!

- Pet Friendly : For an additional fee of $100.00. Agreeable pets only please!
- Kid Friendly : Please let us know the ages of the children with you. We can help with age appropriate activity suggestions if you'd like.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : There must be adults ON-SITE. While we hope it would never happen,should we discover that the unit has been rented under false pretenses the guests will be removed and no monies will be refunded. This is a family oriented complex and the owners and guests count on each other to maintain that atmosphere.

- Our cottage offers all the privacy of a single home with the conveniences of a condo complex. It is a stand-alone structure with designated parking underneath with laundry facilities & the pool/grilling areas of our complex. The best of both worlds! There are several Art Centers located in our area, with works displayed by various local artists and festivals year-round. There are fabulous dolphin-cruises and charter services for boating and fishing. If gambling is your thing the casinos are within a short drive or you can take one of the chartered daytrip buses. Just a short drive will also get you to the NAS Pensacola and their wonderful museum. If you go, try to get a retired aviator as your guide, they can really bring the museum to life for you! There is such a variety of entertainment in our area, you're sure to find something of interest should you have a rainy afternoon to fill or just need a break from the calm of our shores.

Why the Owner Chose Sea and Sun
We chose this cottage because of its charm and proximity to the beautiful sands of the West Beach of Gulf Shores. It has a beautiful view of the water from it's deck, both direct Gulf view AND the lagoon. West Beach is the least developed area of Gulf Shores where the beaches are still accessible to the average visitor and the Little Lagoon Pass offers excellent fishing and playtime on it's sandbar.

We rented the cottage from Kat at the end of July 2011 for a week. Everything was as described on VRBO. The cottage is nice, it is located perfectly to be at the place of action quickly and can retreat to a quiet home. The kids loved the beach and fishing was great as well. It is close to stores and restaurants and the area is nice and clean. It was the first time we went to Gulf Shores and the kids called it the “American Cancun”. I hope to get the chance to do it again.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.

I booked this property for a week in May of 2011 for my family of 6 because the price was reasonable and the location was great. When I arrived, I was immediately disappointed. The unit was neat, but needed a good cleaning. The furniture was dusty and the carpet was stained and needed to be replaced. I called the owner about the condition of the property and was basically told that she didn't agree with me and that her cleaning lady is excellent. When I went to unpack, the closet door fell off and a lot of the owner's property is in the closet. . .very messy. Also, many of the kitchen utensils and cookware needed to be replaced. The washer and dryers on the property were old and rusty and did not work which for a family of 6 on vacation for a week was a nightmare. There was also very loud music being played late at night from one of the properties behind us. At about 3 a.m., my husband finally had to call the police in order to get the music turned off because the noise was disturbing our 9 month old son. It also took an entire month to get our deposit back and was told the owner had mailed our deposit on 3 separate occasions but was having problems with her mailman. On a positive note, the location was great and the price was good. The owner did also compensate us $30 for the inconvenience of the broken washer and dryer. However, I would not stay at this particular unit again with my family.

My husband and I rented this cottage from Kathy for 8 days. We were worried because it was pet friendly and we have noticed that most pet friendly units aren't very clean. We take our dog everywhere we go. We have a family business and he goes to work every day. We are pet lovers but we are very clean. When we rent a place we treat it like it was ours. This cottage was beautiful. It was very clean!!! It was in a complex but it wasn't connected so it was like your own little cottage. Isn't on the beach, but the walk wasn't hard. It has a private walk way and is very close to the water. We have booked 8 more days in September and will probably book it some in the off season. We have told all our pet owner friends about it. We can't wait to go back. Thank you Kathy for sharing your cottage with us. See you in September (if not before) The Kellys

My family and I recently stayed here and we had a blast. The condo was in a small complex and it was nice and quiet when it was time to rest. The pool at the complex was never crowded when we wanted to use it. The location of the complex is convenient to everything. The beach is just across the street and far enough away from the crowds when you want to relax. I would definitely stay here again.
