Your true hideaway nestled in the Adirondack Mountains and on Lake Champlain. Total peace and quiet on your large property of heavily wooded forest with a bridge and creeks. Watch the changing leaves, go canoeing from your private beach or just sip cocoa in front of the fire while looking out to the family of deer on the front lawn. The house is built on top of a lush hill which faces Lake Champlain. Stairs leading to a bridge, where you can listen to the babbling brook which flows from the artisan well that flows below you, continues to the lake. Choose from a variety of water sports to pass the day away. Have a bonfire or BBQ on the beach. Go for a canoe ride with a picnic for two. Hunt for frogs in one of the creeks. We have a canoe with 4 adult life jackets and one child, as well as a 10 foot rowboat and a dock. We do have a mooring . The beach is mostly sandy, unusual for Lake Champlain. Our on site manager is a professional angler that can give tours or lessons. We have parking for a trailer and electrical hookups
In the winter time just walk out the door to go sledding, tobogganing, ice fishing etc. or take advantage of our local Olympic ski slopes at Whiteface. Watch the leaves change in Autumn and visit the local pumpkin patch for a hay ride.
Great Escapes Six Flags is one and a half hours away!
Conveniently located next to two international airports. Burlington, VT is 1 hour and 20 minutes away with a ferry ride. Albany is 2 and a half hours away. Many ferries in the area, ask us for the schedule if you need it. There is a gas station and a full grocery store less than 5 miles away if you should need any essentials. There are much more major shops and activities in Plattsburgh, 12 miles away.
The house has a piano in the White Room downstairs and the upstairs bathroom tub fits FOUR!
This is truly a very special property if you love peace and quiet.

This is great place for a family vacation. The place was maintained well and was neat and tidy. We had booked the place for a family reunion of sorts and enjoyed every bit of it. We spent a lot of time on the lake/beach and had a wonderful campfire and BBQ. There are also nearby attractions like the Ausable chasm. Many hiking trails and fishing locations in the area. Most importantly, the lake is mostly quiet and peaceful and not crowded like other lakes in the area making it a relaxing experience. It is a small steep hike to the lake which will be fine for most people including kids but will be a challenge if you have people with disabilities.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway.

House is very charming, spacial. We enjoyed the lake a lot. Boat, canoe. Kids spent tons of time on the beach. Piano was a really nice touch, very unusual for a rental property and was a perfect addition for us. Kitchen was well equipped and had a lot of different spices available for us. House keeping could be little bit better, but the guy who did it was so charming and helpful in all aspects, that it was fine with us. He even took our kids for fishing. The house has all sorts of board games and books to read. We enjoyed our stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

A great family getaway! Spent some time in solitude along the shores of beautiful lake Champlain. We were a little hesitant that the place wouldn't be clean based on an earlier review, but the house was very clean and welcoming. Day trips to ausable chasm and Burlington were fun and close. All in all a great family getaway.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

I was reluctant to write a review at first, but then decided it may give people a better understanding of the property from our perspective. The house is on a cliff and sits about 200ft from the water, you will need to take a nice walk from the house each and every time, so dont forget anything. The grounds were un-kept and I found myself making excuses for the rental the whole vacation. We arrived to a half-clean house filled with issues. During our stay the dishwasher was broken and filled with a terrible fish smell from the prior weeks tenants, we were not made aware of this problem until we had been there for 2 days. The downstairs shower was broken and fixed 2 days later (the dishwasher was never fixed during our stay). The house was dirty as could be I had to re-clean it and it grossed me out. We left 2 days early for all the reasons mentioned, but more importantly if you are going to pay that much money per night for a property, look somewhere else. The owner did nothing to accomodate our inconveinence.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/5

My family and parents (7 in total) enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing week at this beautiful property. The house more than lives up to it's description and had everything we needed. The location was fantastic and we enjoyed many peaceful days fishing from the dock or one of the boats, playing on the beach, swimming and boating. We also enjoyed day-trips to Montreal and Vermont, both very accessible. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. What a great place to unwind-we didn't want to leave! THANK YOU!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed here during early July 2009. Everything was neat and very comfortable. All of us truly enjoyed our stay right down to the family dog. The owner and her family were very gracious with any help needed. I would highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the Lake Champlain area.Did you find this review helpful? We had a great time at your house. The house was large enough to accomodate two families comfortably. The bedrooms were especially large! We enjoyed fires down by the beach and also out front by the picnic tables. Even though we did not have the best weather week we certainly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to others. Thank you for sharing your house!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
