Spectacular Del Mar Estate! Imagine yourself arriving to a elaborate, luxurious, custom built estate home in Del Mar, California. No expense was spared in the creation of one of Del Mar’s ultimate private homes. Three years in the making, it is considered to be the ultimate showplace and is reasonably priced for affordability.
This property is located one mile east of the pristine beaches of Del Mar on a lushly, tropical landscaped half acre lot in the estate residential section of Del Mar. It is 5,000+ square feet, has five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and an ocean view.
This impressive Spanish Colonial showcase home has every available option to satisfy the most discriminating guest. The very best materials were used to construct this truly one of a kind property. Marble flooring, mahogany wood trim and doors, 18k gold faucetry, tank less water heaters, security system, professional chef’s kitchen, water filtration system, steam shower, hand set paver driveway, the list of amenities goes on and on.
Upon entering this home through the hand forged iron doors you will instantly feel at home as you relax and unwind in “El Santuario”, the name bestowed upon this estate. The sanctuary offers the ultimate retreat. This home will comfortably accommodate 10 overnight guests with sleeping options for 4-6 more. The design of the home provides separate “wings” for the ultimate rejuvenation and relaxation of its guests. The master bedroom is privately located away from the primary living areas, the upstairs 2nd master suite is secluded from the rest of the home and the remaining bedrooms are located off of their own private hallway. Lighting throughout the estate is on dimmer switches to complement even the most relaxed mood. The formal dining room area seats 12. The professional chef’s kitchen offers four Thermador professional series ovens, Sub Zero refrigerators, as well as other necessities for fine meal preparation. The Master and Upstairs Suites feature their own sitting areas as well as kitchenettes and full bars for those late night cravings. Unwind in the Master Bath steam shower followed by a relaxing bubble bath in the jetted tub. Or enjoy the outside Spa which accomodates 5-6 guests.
El Santuario will provide you with the ultimate entertainment experience. A 60" LED Ultra flat panel television in the main family room area, a 52" LCD Samsung flat panel television in the theater and gaming room, and a 40" LCD flat panel television in the main master suite. The home has both BlueRay and standard DVD availability. Wireless broadband Internet is available throughout the home. Private gaming can be done on the Sony Play Station 3 gaming system, XBox and Game Cube! In addition, the home is equipped with a gaming and theater room with a classic cocktail gaming system with 39 vintage games including Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Frogger, and so many more. There is also an inside 10ft grand edition shuffle board and an electronic dart board for even more ultimate fun!
The high end full home entertainment system is equipped with ipod integration to create your own private entertainment and all rooms have ceiling audio speakers as well as the courtyard and decks having outdoor stereo integration. It is perfect for an intimate dinner in the courtyard or a relaxing evening under the stars. The upstairs deck offers an expansive view of the Pacific Ocean with the historic Del Mar Race Track in the forefront. The favorite hang-out place within the estate is the main courtyard. Boasting 1,000 sq.ft surrounded by the home, it features a remarkable Koi Pond with 3 tier waterfall, a secondary large fountain, and a fire pit with relaxing seating for all guests. This courtyard is landscaped with mature tropical plants and trees, and at night is lighted along with most of the estates grounds. All guests have loved to sit outside in this area to enjoy time to relax and gazed upon the stars at night above.
This beautiful estate is centrally located to the best amenities that Del Mar and Solana Beach have to offer. About 1 mile from either Rivermouth beach at Del Mar or Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach. Both locations have nearby walking trails leading to the beach. Within walking distance in this wonderful relaxed family oriented neighborhood is a movie theater, multiple restaurants featuring mexican, asian, american, italian, and a variety of other cuisines. From snack shops to high end restaurants, this estate is perfect for any appetite with any budget. Other locations of interest are: The Cedros Design District, The San Elijo Lagoon, Historic Route 101, The Del Mar Fairgrounds and Race Track, the Flower Hill Promenade, Torrey Pines Golf Course, Legoland, Seaworld, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, the San Diego Zoo, all are are nearby locations you will enjoy exploring.
As of January 2012, the estate is being offered on a pernight basis to accomodate our shorter term guests requests.
Rates are based on peak and off peak periods. Peak season is May 15th - September 15th. Preference is weekly rentals or longer, but we offer nightly stays depending on availability. Naturally, the longer the stay, the better the rate.

It is important to mention that due to it's central location, the estate experiences traveling sound emitted from nearby Interstate 5. This estate was built using optimum design and materials to mitigate as much of the sound as possible and might only be an issue outside of the house. Small pets considered, depending.

Our rating is 4.5, although this could easily be a 5 star . There was a glitch with the outdoor hot tub not functioning. However, no doubt that this is a superior property, and the photos tell the tale. It worked very well for our small family celebration and living experience, and the owner was responsive by E-mail and phone while he was away. He gave us a great lead to a chef that catered a dinner at home for us which was outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful front courtyard, the elegant dining room, the gourmet chef's kitchen, the very comfortable open style family room with conversational seating, the home entertainment center, large screen t.v., shuffleboard table, and more. The bedrooms were all beautifully appointed, the master suite outstanding. Not often that you can find one that has two separate bathrooms for the Mr. and Mrs., a huge double steam shower and separate jacuzzi tub, dressing room counters, drawers galore, and a walk in closet that can accommodate six suitcases! This property was also just 3 minutes drive to a shopping center with food market, fitness center, restaurants, etc. Being convenently near the I-5 freeway, there was some expressway sound in the rear of the property, but none at all inside the house or the front courtyard. We were also pleased that the owner's son met us and did a walk through with us when we arrived and even helped with our suitcases, and the owner met with us when he returned and made sure that our security deposit was returned promptly and in full. Of course, we had cared for the house, as if it were our own. The owner lists with his contract a set of guest rules, so we knew what was expected. This elegant property features the best building materials and appliances, all the modern conveniences, is quite beautiful, and most important, it is cearly set up for family enjoyment and also gracious entertainment.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We stayed at this house for Thanksgiving and were very disappointed in the location. As the posting said that you MAY hear noise from the near by 5 freeway there is no May hear noise you will hear it. The 5 freeway is right in your back yard and very loud. We were unable to enjoy the backyard and were not able to open the windows or doors because it was to loud. As the house was ok the owners did show up every day to feed the fish but it felt more like they were checking up on us. We rent houses all the time with our family and this was the worst one we have ever stayed at. I would not ever come back here again. They ended up keeping some of our deposit for things that we did not even do. I would not recommend this home to anyone.
Owner response:Submiting reviews should be something used with a certain level of professionalism. In this instance, the traveler submitted this negative review in the heat of emotional frustration which is unfortunate. As owners, we have had until this point a 4 year extremely satisfied guest experience. These guests were not respectful of the estate and treated it as a "party house" which resulted in damages, abnormal wear and tear, and additional cleaning that had to be done. This is a very high end estate, and guests wanting to vacation here should be at a professional level to repsect that. In regards to the noise outside the property, we have stated that in the detail section. Like most of the homes near the coast, there are numerous routes of traffic and nearly all the homes experience levels of noise. However, once inside the home, you will notice a level of peace and quiet that is expected in this high end estate due to the extensive insulation and soundproofing done when it was constructed. In regards to owner's showing up, we have a groundskeeper that maintains the estate and part of that is the 2-3 time a week maintenance and feeding of the Koi fish in the pond outside the estate, all of which is clearly stated in our agreement. Although there were numerous damages, we did refund 89% of the deposit to the guests. The remaining 11% did not cover all the damages, but in good faith with the guests expressing their own financial difficulties we decided to refund more than they were liable for per our agreement. Upon trying to cordially speak with them on the phone, they shouted profanities and hung up the phone on us. Most likely, due to their own financial difficulties, they were upset and decided to post this negative review. If you and your guests are interested in our estate, we invite personal phone calls at anytime to discuss the estate in detail and to make your experience at our estate very special. As a professional courtesy to our past and future guests and for respect of their privacy, we will not discuss any specifics of other guests other than what we post as a response. Thank you.

The house was close to shopping and downtown markets were easily accessible. I have no problem recommending this property; it was clean and well maintained and the owner was very helpful.
