Anchors Away is a wonderful beach home on the Oregon Coast. My husband and I stayed with our two dogs and had nothing short of an awesome time. (We did crate them at night to keep them off the furniture). Not only is the view stunning, but there is a path leading to the beach for direct access. I loved the coziness of a warm fire place albeit gas, and the retro-vintage appliances! The bedrooms were lovely and the heated tiles in the bathroom are a nice touch. It screams Oregon beach cabin and is full of character. The pictures simply do not do it justice. The weather was beautiful, and a more comfortable chair for sitting outiside and relaxing would be great. Say a couple of adirondacks with an arm rest for a beverage and a place to read a book. We truly have found our home away from home at Anchors Away! I would highly recommend staying at this VRBO and hope to return for another visit.

Great Place to Stay in Rockaway

We were 2 older couples looking for an affordable place to stay on the beach that had good beach access and would accomodate our dogs. We are happy to report that this cottage did it all just fine. All of us including the dogs give the owner Betty and her cottage five stars. We hope to get back to this area again and when we do there will be no reason to stay elsewhere. We enjoyed breakfast at the Cow Belle Cafe and lunch at Dos Rocas Mexican Restaurant.

You'll Never Want to Leave!

This wonderful home has everything you could ever want; a warm comfortable atmosphere, shopping and great places to eat nearby, and best of all, access to miles and miles of the most beautiful beach anywhere. The photos are great, but cannot convey the feeling of 'coming home' that overwhelms you the minute you open the door. The property is very clean (and easy to keep that way) and well maintained and the owners are friendly and eager to please. The little steam tour train that runs right by the door goes from Garibaldi to Rockaway several times daily. Be sure to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory while you're here; their cheese and ice cream are the best anywhere. Cannon Beach is only a stone's throw away. Check out beautiful Indian Beach - the access is on the north end of town. We always spend a whole day there and finish off with Fultano's Pizza - yumm! Mo's has wonderful fish and clam chowder, and your kids will love a visit to Bruce's Candy Kitchen. If you want to stay home and eat, you won't be missing a thing because Woody's BBQ is right across the street from the house - they have the best ribs and pulled pork we've ever tasted. (Can you tell we love to eat?) But whether you spend your days basking in the sun, hiking on the nearby trails, or shopping til you're dropping, you will love returning to this beautiful home by the sea.

Rocking beach location!

We spend a weekend in the house in March. The house was very clean and well equipped. Loved that it has great beach access and ocean view from the living/dining room.

Great beach house for families

We stayed a week at this beachfront getaway and it was great for our family. We as grandparents were able to get away upstairs while downstairs was in use by the kids and grandkids. We had 5 adults and 3 little ones and it was quite comfortable with people going outside a lot. Might get a bit cramped for a party that size in inclement weather as it only has a small dining room table. The bed in the Rose Room is a hard mattress but the other two beds (one queen, one king) were very comfortable. The location on the beach is terrific with not a lot of people and traffic. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect Beach House

The beach house was perfect. The access to the beach was wonderful - a short walk on the path and we were there. Miles and miles of sandy beach! the house itself was very cozy and fabulous views. We has everything we needed. We were a bit disappointed there wasn't a gas or propane barbeque - but we simply ate fresh seafood instead (not much of a sacrifice!). Betty was very accommodating and responded to any questions promptly. We will definitely stay here again.

Lovely location. Nice yard for our dogs. Great bed upstairs. The bathroom has heated tiles (great for the morning). Overall we had a great time. The owner was helpful and the price was right. P.S. I think the top oven has a broken thermostat.

We just returned from our second annual extended-family vacation at the Beachfront Getaway in Rockaway. It was a magical time again this year, especially with hundreds of pelicans catching tiny fish from the waves in front of the house! The beach house is very clean, convenient, comfortable, and exceptionally well equipped. It's clear that the owners give careful thought to the needs of their guests. We had a great time. With family members aged 6-82, the nearly level walk out to the ocean meant everybody could participate easily in beach activities.

This was the second year we have spent a week at this house with our grandsons. You will not find a cleaner house on the Oregon coast and the easy beach access ideal for families. The house is comfortable and well-equipped. We have enjoyed our stays and plan to return again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The upstairs suite was fabulous-king bed and sitting area fantastic! All appliances in good condition and furniture was extremely comfortable. Minor suggestions: reading lamps in living room and mirror in uptairs bath would be nice. Will definitely re-book.

I stayed here in October for several days for a private therapy retreat with a client. We loved this house! The view of the ocean is so fabulous, and we also greatly enjoyed the decor. The owners are very helpful -- we had a problem with the gas fireplace and they had someone out to fix it the same day! I highly recommend this cozy home for your beach vacation!
