I rented this mountain home for my sisters bachelorette/wedding shower weekend. The views from this property were pretty spectacular. Everyone was quite blown away by the scenery. We LOVED the old, recycled barn wood used on the floors in the kitchen and bedrooms, the huge wrap around deck and all the windows and sunlight in the home. However, we were not as impressed with the maintenance of the property itself. The cleanliness of the home was sub par. The air vents were filled with dust, the carpet on the stairs was worn to shreds, most towels were discolored and stained with bleach and the furniture looked quite dated. All of the drawers throughout the house are filled with miscellaneous junky items left behind from previous renters. When we arrived, the two couches and 2 chairs in the main living room were all facing the brick wall with the stove. I turned them to face the large windows so we could sit and look at the beautiful outdoors. When I moved the chair closest to the big windows, a GIANT stain was exposed. We were later blamed for this stain. We expected the kitchen to be better equipt in terms of cooking and baking pans and utensils. I suppose it would have been fine for a novice but our chef found it difficult to prepare our meal. We took full advantage of some of the activities listed in the description of this property. "Explore the property's ten acres and adjacent ninety acres of open space. You can hike, snow shoe or mountain bike from your door." It was wonderful to hike right from outside out the door. However, the rocks and gravel are very slick so be careful. My mother actually fell and shattered her hip and wrist. On the bright side, the Nederland ambulance was extremely quick! My experience with the owner of this property was less than pleasant. I would not recommend this property to my friends and family.
Owner response:We have been renting our house for more than four years and have 41 glowing online reviews and zero negative reviews until now. Unfortunately, we too had a very disappointing rental experience with this tenant. To be clear to future renters, and as it is spelled out in the contract, this home is to be used as a vacation rental for ten or fewer guests only and is not to be used for large parties. What an amazing home! The description written on this listing is exactly how the home looks. You will not be disappointed. The home is immaculate. So many windows with views to die for! Sunrise and sunsets were daily activities to look forward to. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. We made use of every room. The decor was also beautiful. Our family felt right at home. We shopped at the small town of Nederland and hiked at the nearby lake. The house is conveniently located near Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Boulder and Denver International airport. Our family had a wonderful time and we will surely be back! Thank you Annika for being so accommodating in promptly answering our questions.
Owner response:And what a fun part-time job I have, when the renters are as conscientious and appreciative as you all are! Annika

My family spent a week here this summer and were very happy with this house. The pictures on this website are great but do not do justice to the views when you experience them in person. We enjoyed grilling and eating together on the deck and spent each evening hanging out together. A couple of us rode our Harleys out to CO and with Nederland being on the Peak to Peak Highway it was a great central location to everything you would want to see: Estes Park & RMNP, Morrison, Red Rocks and Mt Evans, Boulder & the Denver metro. The driveway up to the house is not paved but was still manageable with the bikes, and the property mgrs even had it grated to make it easier on us after the recent rain storms put some ruts in it. Nederland has everything you could need and if you don't venture much further you will still enjoy yourself. The property managers are great to work with and very friendly, and Annika was very professional and made planning our stay very easy. You will not be disappointed with this home and we will certainly be staying again on our next visit.

The photos of this property live up its beauty. Our family had a wonderful time in Nederland. We wished we could have stayed longer. The views are spectacular, and we enjoyed soaking in the hot tub and doing yoga on the deck. There was enough space for everyone to spread out and enjoy their favorite book. We will be back!

Our family had the pleasure of spending a few nights at this rental property in early April. We were here visiting our son who attends college in Denver. What attracted us was the free lift tickets to Eldora Ski resort but what will bring us back was the lovely home and breathtaking views from every room in the house. This place is pure luxury and the owners are very nice to work with, we will definately try to come back next time we visit Colorado.

Our stay at Paradise Ridge was simply wonderful. What a beautiful property with fabulous amenities. The 6 ski passes were such a bonus as the cost of a day pass is $69.00. The views were amazing and it is just close enough to Eldora that you can run home for lunch and be back in 10 minutes for afternoon slopes. Thank you Paradise Ridge for a wonderful vacation!

What an amazing home. Came for a family vacation to visit my Sister who moved to Boulder in March. It was a great place to sit and catch up and look at the spectacular views. We enjoyed family dinners at the large kitchen table. Played baggo on the deck it was so big. Enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace. We saw deer in the yard and a beautiful rainbow. Loved all the amenities. More time to enjoy your trip and less time thinking of what you needed and having to run to the grocery store again. Enjoyed the Carousel of Happiness and Wild Mountain Smokehouse & Brewery in Nederland. Rocky Mountain National Park was absolutely amazing. Would love to come stay again and do a full day hike. Pearl Street was very interesting. The kids really enjoyed it. Loved all the performers. Would definitely recommend!!!

We stayed here in July 2010 with our three adult children to celebrate the youngest one turning "21". Two of our children's friends came up for a couple of nights to help celebrate...Everyone was in AWE of the view and the peacefulness. The pictures onine are totally the same. The town is quaint and fun to visit. The drive up to the house is beautiful and everything was great. We would go back in a heartbeat. Our children asked if it was available for Christmas. It definitely lives up to the name Paradise Ridge.....

My family stayed the first week of July, 2010 and had a wonderful time. To be quite honest, even though there are many, many outdoor activities to take advantage of in and around Nederland, we found ourselves hanging out at this beautiful home, just mesmorized by the incredible view. The house is first rate from top to bottom with all the bells and whistles. Steam shower, Hot Tub, gourmet kitchen, tons of comfortable places to just sit and read your favorite book, Outdoor fireplace, great deck and separate patio both with incredible views of Barker Resevoir and the Continental Divide beyond. We did make it up to the Brainard Lake Recreational area and enjoyed some wonderful hiking. We fished at the Resevoir with the two girls and caught a couple of small trout. We cruised the small "authentic" Colorado town of Eldora (Great) and did a little four wheel driving. We will definately be back to visit this memorable home. Thank you for everything!

Our family and brother's family spent a weekend here during a ski trip to Eldora in March. The six passes to Eldora were a wonderful addition to the house rental making it more affordable! The hot tub was a great hit in the evening and the view was beautiful. The house had all the amenities needed to stay (shampoo, dish soap, blow dryer, laundry products...) It was nice to have a phone call during our stay and make sure everything was to our liking. Nederland is a little town that has nice little restraunts and a grocery store. There is no need to go back to Boulder once you get to the house. The only downfall of the house is the number of TVs and there are A LOT of windows (shown in the pictures), so don't think you are going to sleep in -the sun will wake you up. :)

Rented this lovely mountain home for three nights in March 2010 with three other couples for a skiing getaway and we were all very pleased. The home is lovely, clean, and provides plenty of privacy. There was a blizzard during our second night at the house and we learned three things: 1.) The city plows the driveway; 2.) You need four-wheel drive to get up and down the driveway in lots of snow; 3.) The plowed driveway is excellent for sledding! We would gladly rent this home again.
Owner response:Yes, the winter driving is a true Colorado experience! And we pay a local plow company to maintain our driveway with each three inches, so there's never too much snow there. Thanks for taking such good care of the house, Annika

Just wanted to say, thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home. There is a feeling of such peace there, I just can't really put it into words. The feeling you have created is just wonderful. You really feel like you can take it all in and have incorporated the house extremely well into the surroundings. We've had 2 meditation retreats here. The house is at the end of a dead end so there is no traffic. It's very quiet. The views from the deck are stunning and include sunrise and sunsets. It's clean, well kept, and was built and is kept up with some environmental factors in mind.

We spent a long weekend at this wonderful home over Martin Luther King weekend. My brother and I, and our 4 children ages 17-12. Pictures do not do this home justice. It is a wonderful , modern , quiet getaway with views that are unbelievable. The owners were great to work with and we found everything as expected. They checked in with us after we arrived to make sure everything was to our liking. We hosted family in the area for dinner one, I think there were 16 of us and there was plenty of room and dishes to accomidate us easily. We will certainly stay here again in the future. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us. The O'Connors

Comment Text: Paradise Ridge provided the setting for our annual family vacation this year: mom and dad, two daughters, son-in-law, and two grandchildren (9 and 5), plus dog (Malamute mix). It was the perfect setting, with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park and other sites. In addition to the excellent location and lovely view, the house itself is architecturally attractive, well-equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay. We also appreciated Annika’s prompt attention to our inquiries and concerns. Location, view, amenities, and comfort – a great place for children, for adults, for bird-watching (more than 30 species sighted during the week), and for the dog – we all had a wonderful time. One has the feeling of being away from it all, yet near to it all.

We rented Paradise Ridge for 10 days at the end of August. WOur family was in Nederland for my son's wedding to a wonderful young lady who has deep roots in the area. The house was great, and the views never ending. I had a pre-wedding dinner for about 70 people and the kitchen and house accomodated that soiree without any problems. The constant comment from all guests was how amazing the house is. We look forward to our next visit to Paradise Ridge.

What a wonderful property!! We stayed for a week with 4 other family members. There was plenty of room for all of us, and we didn't feel like we were bumping into each other. We had a local family gathering of about 15 people one day, and there was ample space for all us. I've been going out to the Nederland area my whole life, and have stayed at a number of rentals in the area, but this one can't be beat for the wonderful views and amenities in the home. The fireplace on the deck is wonderful for those cool evenings, and one night we sat up late watching the stars (the Milky Way was so clear, and we saw a number of satellites and shooting stars) by the warmth of the fire. We look forward to our next trip!!

The house is everything that was stated and more. The house is very nicely designed with lots of thoughtful details. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the terrific views. The rainbow that went right over the house and down into the reservoir was incredible. How did you arrange that?!?! Also, the wildlife -- the doe and then the buck the next day that were in the yard, were fantastic. We will be coming back!

We had a house full with 10 of the 21 in our extended family staying at Paradise Ridge. We shared 3 meals with the whole group there and loved the spaciousness. There was room for everyone to gather together if they wanted, alternately, there was enough space for people to gather in small groups if they preferred without being on top of each other.

Our family of 5 recently had the pleasure of spending several days at Paradise Ridge (June/July 2008). The house is everything stated in the description and more, the photos do not do it justice. The first impression of Paradise Ridge is the architectural statement made by the house as it looms skyward when you approach on the private drive. Upon entry, we found the house to be done in an extremely tasteful contemporary esthetic, mixing modern and rustic textiles and furnishings. As an example, the kitchen is outfitted with stained concrete counters, mosaic tile accents and state of the art stainless appliances. Likewise the master combines exquisite rusticated antique wood flooring with minimalist Asian bed furnishings. The views throughout the house and on the expansive decks are truly jaw dropping. I especially liked the view to the continental divide from the Jacuzzi, and the overlook to Barker reservoir while dining on the deck off the living room. We travelled with our three children and while the older two were diverted with the theater-like entertainment room and Jacuzzi our youngest was enthralled with the multi-story playhouse on the property. In summary, we were very impressed with this vacation rental and only wish we had booked more nights at Paradise Ridge.

We stayed at Paradise Ridge with another couple for a week in late June. The house was wonderful, very clean, modern and with decks/patios/views to die for! I had to work some and it was simply awesome to sit in the kitchen, great room, tv room, decks or patio with my computer and keep glancing at the views while I did. I think my productivity was a little down :) The house is well located for trips into Boulder, and along the scenic byway from Black Hawk up to Estes Park. Don't eliminate the little town of Nederland itself...we ate in the local taverns an eateries several times always with good food and service. Dealing with Annika (the owner) was hassle free and convenient both via phone and email. The house was clean, the kitchen well furnished, and did I mention the views....? One thing to note..not necessarily good or bad, but you will climb stairs at this property. I only mention it, because had my father travelled with us, he would not have been able to handle it. I give the whole experience 5 out of 5 stars, and highly recommend it for your vacation.

This was a great place to stay for our 4-person family. It does not have alot of TVs, but with the view, you won't watch much TV. Four bedrooms, large kitchen, large family room(s). The house sits several hundred feet overlooking the town and Barker Reservoir. It was relaxing just to look out the windows at the trees and mountains. We saw deer grazing in the yard one morning around sunrise. The hot tub also has a stunning view of the mountains. I would not hesitate to stay here again if we get the opportunity.

On our way up, we stopped at this grocery store place called Whole Foods Market and stocked up on fresh produce, organic meats, great cheese and some mighty fine coffee. My wife and I spent a big part of the weekend one the two decks taking in the endless views and night time stars. Sunday was a great weather day; warm, sunny and calm winds. When they weren’t hiking one of the multiple trails near the house, the kids played marathon Monopoly and Nerf b-ball during the evenings. The Charmglow grill and Jacuzzi both worked perfectly; we steamed asparagus in the Miele steamer and had carry-out Naan from nearby Kathmandu restaurant. On Sunday afternoon, we drove over to the Sundance Stables and rode horses; got to see a great view of the Continental divide; stopped by the Ned co-op for some cold drinks and bulk snack items. We hiked up to the hammock place, and viewed the valley from there. The place was immaculate; the mattresses appeared to be brand new and everything was as advertised on the VRBO website. We’ll be back.
