Our Timber Framed Guest Cottage is a very sweet cozy place completely furnished for your comfort. It has one bedroom and a large loft area with another queen bed and two twin beds to sleep up to 6 people total. There is a gas fireplace and large gas grill on the back deck. Bathroom is small but sweet with a claw foot tub to soak in if desired or shower with enclosed curtain.
The cottage is located in a very quiet area of town on the edge of an aspen grove and field of wild flowers. It is just one block off the main road through town and is walking distance to a variety of services and shops - restaurants, antiques, golf, groceries, car rentals, AmTrak train station (summer season only), horseback riding, and shuttle services to all hiking tails and lodges within Glacier National Park (summer season only).
It can also be a great winter get away if you like to cross country ski, back country skiing and snowboarding. Essex is a 1/2 hour drive that offers miles of groomed xc ski trails - classic and skate.
The cottage shares a very large yard with our other rental home right next door (VRBO listing # 328250). It is an ideal setting if traveling with a large group or multiple families. There are yard games to enjoy as well: badmitten, croquet, volleyball, soccer, etc. We also have a few bicycles available for your use - 3 adults and 2 children's with helmets to roam around the town of East Glacier on.
We are in a great location to come and explore Glacier National Park all four seasons. Come relax and enjoy the town of East Glacier Park and the national park while staying in our cottage.

Great cottage and location!
Great cottage and location!
The cottage is equipped with everything visitors need -- from kitchen (great spices) to bathroom (thick towels) to bedroom (luxurious sheets) to outdoors (great deck, hammock and bicycles). It's clean and cozy. The only reason we didn't rate it "excellent" is the lack of television and spotty cell service (AT&T).

We stayed at the Timber Frame Guest Cottage in July 2011. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. Everything was "as advertised" and in good working condition. The beds were very comfortable. The owners were friendly and able to recommend great restaurants (if you like Mexican food, definately try Serrano's - fresh ingredients, great flavor) and hiking trails. The back deck faces woods and is very private. We enjoyed using the bikes to explore East Glacier. Not only would I recomment this cabin to a friend, I find myself daydreaming about when I can go back again.

This was a pleasant surprise! The property was better than described--very clean, comfortable beds, a nice rear patio, a gas bbq, close to all the amenities, on a very quiet street. A small grocery store and a couple of small restaurants are 1-2 blocks away. Bikes are available to cruise around town as well as some golf clubs to play at the lodge. The only negative and only reason I would not rate as "Excellent" is that the house lacks sound insulation between the bedroom and the bathroom next door as well as the loft above the bedroom, so make sure you are comfortable with your housemates! I would definitely recommend this property, we will stay here again when we go back.

Owner response: We have considered adding a pad and carpet to the loft area to help with the noise level and in the mean time have added more area rugs to help with this. Thanks for the input! Every bit helps since we do not live there and wish to make it comfortable for everyone.
June 24-27, 2007. We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It slept 5 adults comfortably. Had all the amenities we needed and was a great base to stay at for our exploration of GNP. Colleen responded quickly to all our e-mails and phone calls regarding this property. Would stay here again.
