Our three-story vacation home is child friendly and perfect for your family get-away, family reunion, or gathering with friends! The dining table can seat 10-12, the kitchen bar seats 2 and there are additional fold-up tables and chairs to seat even larger crowds. Enjoy eating indoors or outdoors in our large patio with picnic table that seats 10, just off the dining room. You can also enjoy BBQing, star gazing from the jacuzzi, as well as playing volleyball in the spacious back yard, along with many other varied outdoor activities. For those vacationers who like to use a gym & spa, there is one located less than a mile from The Hacienda. In fact, you'll pass right by it on your way here.
Our home is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range between beautiful Lake Tahoe and the California State Capitol of Sacramento. Reno International Airport is just 1 1/2 hours east and Sacramento International Airport 1 hour to the west. Make a Pacific Coast day-trip of visiting San Francisco, Half Moon Bay, Muir Redwoods, Santa Cruz or Monterey (each are located just 2 to 3 1/2 hours from the house). You can enjoy numerous local and nearby activities such as shopping, biking, hiking, fishing, boating, snowboarding, skiing, and rafting, along with visiting points of interest like Coloma (gold pan at the spot where gold was discovered), Donner's State Park, Nevada City, Auburn, and Grass Valley's Empire Mine, to name a few. Look for the binder in our vacation house where you will find more information on where to go. Or, feel free to ask us in advance so that you can plan your activities in more detail before you arrive.
For the times that you want to laze around indoors, our vacation home boasts plenty of activities for all ages. The rec room is a perfect hang-out spot with a ping pong table, foosball, and air hockey. TV/DVD/Video available for movie viewing with two local channel networks. Additionally, we have a room set up just for playing board games, cards or putting together puzzles. Four of the bedrooms are set-up for couples; the other three bedrooms are also set up for couples as well as 1-3 additional people per room. If you need more sleeping space, bring sleeping bags to throw on the couches or the floor. There is a queen sofa sleeper in the living room and double futon in the family room. We have ample off-street parking for cars, RVs, boats and other "toys".
The home has a large, comfortable kitchen if you feel like preparing your own meals, or we can refer you to local caterers if you'd like meals prepared and set up for you here. For further convenience, there are a handful of dining options within five minutes of The Hacienda, as well as numerous dining options fifteen plus minutes away.
You'll love the central location to the numerous activities that we've listed (and the many others that we don't have room to list). This is an all-season property (at Christmas you'll even find a lighted & decorated Christmas tree) and we welcome you to come stay for a visit, for as long as you like! See you soon!

"The Hacienda" is all it is advertised. We had a wonderful, relaxing family reunion with 19 people. We enjoyed the wildlife; flocks of turkeys, deer, squirrels, and abundant bird life. The children were thrilled to find the ping-pong and air-hockey equipment and to have so much open space in which to run and play. The teen-agers spent their evenings in the hot tub or sitting around the game tables enjoying the big variety of games. We "oldies" appreciated the openness of "The Hacienda", the quiet, the open porch on which to watch the stars come out. Superior accomodations and superior service.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We rented the Hacienda for a weekend reunion on May 14th, 2010. We had plenty of room for the 20 of us that stayed there. The kids enjoyed the huge grassy area outside and the little ones especially liked the playhouse. There is plenty of seating and having access to laundry facilities was especially nice. We would definitely stay there again.

Excellent accomodations and tons of fun! Our large family gathered at The Hacienda to share Thanksgiving. We had 19 people with us and there was plenty of extra room! The fall leaves were beautiful and in less than an hour drive, my son and I were skiing near Tahoe. There were fun games to play and bikes to ride. We had excellent dining and shopping nearby. We will be going to The Hacienda again!

We hosted an intimate wedding and reception at The Hacienda and couldn't possibly be happier with how everything went. The evening was nice and warm and the large lawn with the gorgeous views of the surrounding area was the perfect spot to exchange vows! We were able to house most of our guests on the premises, and the recommendations for catering, rentals, and everything else worked out perfect. We spent the rest of the time playing volleyball, walking and watching lots of movies! The house is so spacious, but cozy - much larger than it appears from the outside! We had such a wonderful time and were amazed by the beautiful area that you are so blessed to live in. The sky is a little more blue up here... Thank you for the stay - we will most definitely return as soon as possible!
